Ep 42Ep 042: Values
What is a values-based business? And how do you build one? In this week's episode, I unravel how we built our business based on our values, and give you some insight on the steps you can take to discover what your values are and how to implement them into your business. As a business and mindset coach, I help those that are ready to grow their business and have the fulfillment, freedom and financial rewards they desire. Does that sound like you? It’s time to get clear on what your values are, why those are your values, and how they show up in your business. From there, you can use these as a container to make better business decisions every single day. {03:25} My story {05:15} My core values {10:27} How my core values show up in my business If you enjoyed today’s show, please make sure to like & review, and share with anyone you feel would benefit from understanding more about a values-based business. Ep 41Ep 041: Power of the group
In today’s episode, I'm talking about one of the secrets to success. And guess what? This is not a 10 step formula. I'm not going to get you to download something. This is really what I believe has made me successful and makes lots of other people successful. I think it was Jim Roan who said you are the product of the five people that you spend the most time with. The people that we spend time with both in our personal lives and in our business impact how successful we are and the way that they do that is that they impact our thinking. Here are the highlights from this episode: {1:43} Modeling how successful people think {2:40} How Mentors help {3:58} How Coaches help {6:13} ICF research about the number of successful small business owners who are successful {7:28} How group work can make you feel more confident, motivated and can lead to better results. {11:11} How my mastermind can help you Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-4ShCtWdEQLyqvjF9-7t8Q Podcast: https://ruthkudzi.com/podcast-thecoachinghub/

Ep 40Ep 040: Triggers
In this episode, I'm talking all about how we can use comparison to fuel us rather than to stop us from taking any action. I’ll share a story and talk through how you can use comparison effectively. Here are the highlights from the episode: {2:24} Comparison as the thief of joy {3:21} How we respond to being triggered {5:22} How we go back to old patterns to keep us safe {5:55} seeing comparison as a gift {6:50} Comparison can show us things we need to work on or avoid {8:05} Treating comparison with a little humour {9:11} Reflecting on why you are feeling triggered Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-4ShCtWdEQLyqvjF9-7t8Q Podcast: https://ruthkudzi.com/podcast-thecoachinghub/

Ep 39Ep 039: Money, money, money
In this episode, I'm lifting the lid on the seven-figure business. Let's be honest. We can measure this in so many different ways. Is it all sales? Is it all cash and bank? Is it on profit? Part of the confusion I see online is that when people are talking about seven figures, they are including any of those. So I wanted to talk about what is a seven-figure business. Is it what we all need to aspire to, or really, is it a benchmark that is there for some people? Here are the highlights from the episode: {2:09} How we can use money as a measurement tool in our businesses {3:26} Our beliefs about money {4:26} What money represents for you {5:41} How much money do we actually need? {6:48} Deciding what’s important to you right now {7:53} What money can allow you to do {9:28} Is the business you want to grow the one you have? {12:47} How you won’t always make the right decisions {14:07} Sacrifices {14:43} Behind the scenes of a 7 figure business {16:16} Ruth’s Mastermind opportunity Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-4ShCtWdEQLyqvjF9-7t8Q Podcast: https://ruthkudzi.com/podcast-thecoachinghub/

Ep 38Ep 038: Coaching and the mind
This week, I'm talking about something, which I feel deserves its own episode. If anyone can be a coach, do we really need to train? I'm going to talk about my definition of coaching right now and the difference between coaching, mentoring and other approaches. Here are the highlights: {2:54} Untrained coaches who train coaches to be coaches {3:38} The importance of being trained if you are pure coaching {5:33} Equipping yourself to be aware of your limitations {7:40} Being a professional coach {9:12} Questions to ask a coach you're considering working with Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-4ShCtWdEQLyqvjF9-7t8Q Podcast: https://ruthkudzi.com/podcast-thecoachinghub/

Ep 37Ep 037: Growth of the coaching industry
In this episode, we're talking about something, which I'm sure a lot of you are going to be really interested to listen to. And that is the growth of coaching. Coaching is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world and in 2020 it experienced considerable growth and an increase in demand. We're looking underneath this. What is driving that increase in demand for coaching? What is driving the increase in the number of people who want to become coaches and become certified and qualified coaches accredited with some of the big bodies? Here are the highlights from this episode: {2:04} The impact of coaching at a corporate level {4:05} How coaching helps organisations attract and retain employees {5:00} The impact of coaching on the 'bottom line' {6:00} The difference between a coaching approach and a directive leadership approach {7:31} Coaching is forward focused {8:08} How coaching helps you in your relationships Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-4ShCtWdEQLyqvjF9-7t8Q Podcast: https://ruthkudzi.com/podcast-thecoachinghub/

Ep 36Ep 036: Neuroplasticity
In this episode, we're talking about one of my favourite topics. Neuroplasticity or reprogramming the brain. And, we're going to be getting deep into how this works. Here are the highlights from this episode: {1:48} Longer-term behavioural change needs to happen in the brain {4:42} Reprogramming the brain is about creating new neural pathways {5:06} How long it takes to reprogramme your brain {7:07} The reasons for the change you want to make need to be important to you {8:29} The brain needs positive reinforcement {10:22} Following the easy path versus creating a new one Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-4ShCtWdEQLyqvjF9-7t8Q Podcast: https://ruthkudzi.com/podcast-thecoachinghub/

Ep 35Ep 035: What does a coach do?
In today's episode, we're exploring what a coach does. We know that the word coach is pretty widely spread, and is used really for a whole range of interventions. In an unregulated industry, I want to talk about what the ICF version of a coach does. The ICF is the International Coaching Federation, and they are the biggest coaching accreditation body in the world, and probably the most respected. There are other coaching accreditation bodies available, I do have to mention that. We're going to look at it from a pure coaching perspective. If you are looking to work with somebody who is a qualified and accredited coach, you need to look out for a few things. Let's dive in! Here are the highlights from this episode: {2:45} Finding out the training a coach has completed {3:25} What to expect from pure coaching {5:27} The importance of having a coach skilled enough to go under the surface {10:29} How pure coaching differs from other interventions Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-4ShCtWdEQLyqvjF9-7t8Q Podcast: https://ruthkudzi.com/podcast-thecoachinghub/

Ep 34Ep 034: Coaching mindset
Today, I'm talking about mindset. We love that word, don't we? So I'd love you to think about what mindset means for you. For me, I see mindset as the belief that we can do something. So if we have a strong mindset, then we are really confident in our belief that we're able to do whatever we put our minds to and overcome any challenges. I also think that when we look at mindset in this way, it's really about those thoughts and beliefs that we hold about our ability not only to do what we want to do but to overcome any challenges that happen along the way. Because in life, things are not always as easy as they seem. So how can coaching transform your thoughts, your beliefs, your feelings, and your emotions so that you feel that you have those resources inside of you so that you can tackle anything head-on? Let’s dive in and find out. Here are the highlights from this episode: {2:49} What will be different about this year if you've not done the work on your mindset? {3:41} Recognising unhelpful thinking patterns {4:37} How the work you do on yourself is visible in your energy {5:53} How coaching can help to reprogram limiting beliefs {9:47} How coaching helps to explore what happens between the brain and the mouth or hand Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-4ShCtWdEQLyqvjF9-7t8Q Podcast: https://ruthkudzi.com/podcast-thecoachinghub/

Ep 33Ep 033: Making goals stick
How do we make sure that our new year's resolutions and goals actually stick? Let's be honest. I think that most of us, after 2020, when we were all saying a year ago, "Let's make 2020 the best year. Yeah, I can feel this next decade is going to be amazing, blah, blah, blah," I think that maybe it may have changed some of our mindset on this best year ever dialogue. However, we still see the same things. We see the articles in the magazines and hear this idea of having new year's resolutions, and we often think, maybe this is going to be the year we've finally do the thing we want to do. So in this episode, I'm going to talk about how we can make our resolutions, or in other words, our focus and our intentions for the new year, actually stick and how we can do things that work for us, not against us, so that we feel more aligned with what we want to create. Here are the highlights from this episode: {2:40} Resolutions focus on the behaviours {3:21} Making the foundations of the change we want to make, solid. {4:52} The inside out approach {6:18} Looking at what's underneath the changes we want to make {7:51) What's really important to you? {9:01} Layering your beliefs and values onto your resolutions Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-4ShCtWdEQLyqvjF9-7t8Q Podcast: https://ruthkudzi.com/podcast-thecoachinghub/

Ep 32Ep 032: How can you make a career out of being a coach?
Can you really make a living out of being a coach? I'm not talking online here, guys. I'm talking generally, I'm talking about making a career out of being a coach. Being a professional coach and actually making this your job. We might think that there are only online coaches and I'm very aware that we see this model a lot. It isn't always coaching where we see coaches, coaching coaches who coach coaches. And it's not surprising that people can be wary and think, it looks like some glorified pyramid scheme! I am here to say unequivocally yes. Of course, you can make a career from being a coach. I'm going to talk a little bit today about how you can not only have a career but how you can have a thriving career and how you can do that without even having a Facebook profile. Here are the highlights from this episode: {0:49} Can you really make a career out of being a coach? {5:20} Coaching is not just a career you can have online {7:36} Option for after you qualify as a coach {11:05} What to do if you want to train as a coach Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-4ShCtWdEQLyqvjF9-7t8Q Podcast: https://ruthkudzi.com/podcast-thecoachinghub/

Ep 31Ep 031: Why train as a coach?
It is a brilliant time to train as a coach. Why? Well, it seems increasingly likely that the coaching industry is going to become regulated at some point in the future. So, training now can enable you to future proof your career in your business, because you don't want to be scrambling about when the industry is regulated. Here are the highlights from today’s episode: {0:58} How the coaching industry is changing {2:16) How coach training helps you to put your clients first {4:09} How coach training helps you as a business owner {5:04} Coaching in the public or third sector as well as corporate {7:01} The coaching qualifications that corporate and the public sector are looking for {7:12} Reasons to get your coaching qualification now Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-4ShCtWdEQLyqvjF9-7t8Q Podcast: https://ruthkudzi.com/podcast-thecoachinghub/

Ep 30Ep 030: The dark side of the online coaching industry
If you went online you would think that the reason people became coaches was to have a super yacht, travel to 5 star destinations and rake in the cash! As the industry is unregulated anyone can say they are a coach: and many do without even picking up a book on coaching! Or they have done some online training which gives them a foundation without going deeper. The issue I see here is that we are working with people and especially if we are moving into the mindset space, there is a lack of understanding about how the brain works and how to identify when people need additional support. Impact over income and clients over cash are two sayings that are important here: when we centre our business around client outcomes and delivering we are building a sustainable business without the obsession with being insta famous! I would love to know your thoughts! Here are the highlights from today’s episode: {2.42} The why of becoming a coach {4:03} The importance of having a contract in place {8:25} Prioritise individuals over money {12:00} The meaning of making an impact and centering the business around the clients Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-4ShCtWdEQLyqvjF9-7t8Q Podcast: https://ruthkudzi.com/podcast-thecoachinghub/

Ep 29Ep 029: How to make an impact as a coach
This is a question that many of my clients and trainee coaches ask me. One of the simplest answers is that if we do the work on ourselves and really focus on our mindset and energy as coaches so we can show up and be fully present with our clients, we are already one step closer to making more impact. In this episode I delve into the science behind behavioural change and how understanding the science and how our brains work we can help our clients make more impact and get results. I would love to know how you have done this. Here are the highlights from today’s episode: {2.05} Make clear with your clients what they want to achieve {3:51} Uncover your limiting beliefs {7:47} The importance of our own development as coaches {9:42} Holding a clear and safe space for your client Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-4ShCtWdEQLyqvjF9-7t8Q Podcast: https://ruthkudzi.com/podcast-thecoachinghub

Ep 28Ep 028: The different coaching models
In this episode I talk about the different coaching models and modalities that you see and how they can be used in isolation or combination to get our clients results. Last week we looked at pure coaching as a paradigm and today I am exploring different modalities that we can explore which are widely seen under the umbrella of coaching. From normative models such as GROW to relational coaching to transactional analysis to NLP to energy-based approaches to neuroscience, we uncover what these offer and the positive and negative elements of each approach. This is about helping you to consider what approaches you are interested in (and remember my coach training offers a whole host of approaches to give you that diversity of experience). Here are the highlights from today’s episode: {2:16} The normative models {3:26} The relational coaching {5:12} Transactional analysis {6:17} NPL based approaches {8:29} Understand your expertise and combine different approaches Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-4ShCtWdEQLyqvjF9-7t8Q Podcast: https://ruthkudzi.com/podcast-thecoachinghub/

Ep 27Ep 027: What coaching is and what coaching isn’t
In this episode I explore what coaching is and what coaches do. The word coach is ubiquitous online and as the word is used widely it can describe a whole host of approaches and modalities, many of which borrow from the principles of coaching although are not pure coaching. I dive into what coaching is and how pure coaching looks, and what a coach will do in sessions and how this can help their clients make lasting transformational change. If you are considering adding coaching into your toolkit this is an episode that you need to listen to! Here are the highlights from today’s episode: {1:51} What does it mean to be a coach {4:02} The difference between mentor and coach {7:39} What we do in a coaching session {11:10} Pure coaching and blended approaches Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-4ShCtWdEQLyqvjF9-7t8Q Podcast: https://ruthkudzi.com/podcast-thecoachinghub/

Ep 26Ep 026: How to build a coaching business on your terms
The online world is awash with gurus sharing the one way to build your business - some of these gurus are truly amazing at what they do and will show you exactly how to create the course / program / membership site that you want. The issue is that we can be sucked into marketing and can create businesses which are not aligned for how we want to work and how we want to show up in the world. In this episode I share how it is important that we go back to basics when we look at our business model: what are our strengths? What do we enjoy? Where do we get our energy? What are our values and how do we want our life to look? Some of my clients work 1:1 and do some teaching, training or speaking, others run memberships and group programs, others combine corporate work with 1:1, others run courses and workshops. There is no right way: the important thing is that you do what you want to do rather than what you think you should and it works for you. Here are the highlights from today’s episode: {2:08} A business model that works for you {3:33} Consider your strengths {4:39} What you enjoy {6:23} What is important to you: values {10:36} Be clear on the life you want Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-4ShCtWdEQLyqvjF9-7t8Q Podcast: https://ruthkudzi.com/podcast-thecoachinghub/

Ep 25Ep 025: How to get in the right mindset to coach
As a coaching mindset becomes a distinct ICF competency what does it actually mean? I believe that as coaches our mindset is one of the most important things we can work on between client sessions to deliver great results. Some of my top hacks, alongside the exercise / journaling / reading / silence / diet / sleep list that we all know so well are shared in this podcast, I include: having time off social media every week, switching off from our phones, either having someone else answer my emails or having the apps off my phone, reading fiction and doing other things which stimulate my brain which aren’t coaching. Alongside this it is hugely important as a coach that we continue developing our knowledge, skills and experience through training, reading, coaching practice AND that we have safe spaces to talk about coaching for example in supervision (or in my new coaching hub membership). Here are the highlights from today’s episode: {2:14} A brief talk about energy hygiene {4:24} The importance of performing cognitively at our best {7:32} Tune in to what you find enriching Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-4ShCtWdEQLyqvjF9-7t8Q Podcast: https://ruthkudzi.com/podcast-thecoachinghub/

Ep 24Ep 024: What is the Coaching Hub?
In this episode, we will talk about the new membership we will open from the 1st of November, and why I’ve decided to close two solid memberships to open a new one. I will go through the different aspects we will look at in the membership and how you can develop yourself to become a great skilled coach and to build the business you love. Here are the highlights from today’s episode: {01:18} The decision behind the Coaching Hub {02:34} Personal development {04:30} Coaching skills and live coaching {5:02} Business development {6:17} The membership’s weekly agenda Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-4ShCtWdEQLyqvjF9-7t8Q Podcast: https://ruthkudzi.com/podcast-thecoachinghub/

Ep 23Ep 023: The importance of resilience
In this episode, we will talk about the importance of resilience in getting what you want, in your private and business life. I will go through my experience, what I thought was resilience at the beginning of my career and what I learned through time. I will also share with you an interesting and useful tool that can help you to work on resilience. Here are the highlights from today’s episode: {01:54} My first idea of resilience {06:11} Why resilience doesn’t mean working all hours {07:55} What is resilience in reality {10:23} Tools to work with resilience Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-4ShCtWdEQLyqvjF9-7t8Q Podcast: https://ruthkudzi.com/podcast-thecoachinghub/

Ep 22Ep 022: How to take action when you feel stuck
You know that feeling when you can’t seem to move forward in your business or maybe just in life generally? You want to move forward but you just can’t motivate yourself to do it? It’s like wading through treacle isn’t it? In this episode I’m going to help you examine what’s going on when this happens, and then show you how to get things moving again! Ep 21Ep 021: The Coaching Hub is born
This is a very special episode because as you'll notice the name of this podcast has changed. We have changed from Conversations to Help you Thrive to The Coaching Hub Podcast with me Ruth Kudzi. This podcast is going to be talking about coaching conversations, professional development, neuroscience and how the brain works and how we can use that with our clients. Here are the highlights from today’s episode: {1:18} Why the Coaching Hub {2:53} The importance of understanding what your purpose is {6:17} Coaching conversations, neuroscience and professional development Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en

Ep 20Ep 020: Personality preferences in your business
bonusIn today’s episode I want to talk about the importance of personality preferences in building the business you love. The first advice is to take a step back and look at what you're doing in your business. Be honest with yourself and understand what you really want to do in your business and what is your purpose. The second thing you need to do is define what you can delegate to others in order to focus on your zone of genius. Here are the highlights from today’s episode: {1:27} The importance of personality preferences {2:52} Simplify to amplify {6:38} What is your purpose? Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en

Ep 19Ep 019: Having honest, difficult conversations with yourself
In today’s episode I want to talk to you about having honest conversations with yourself if you aren’t achieving your goals. We can look externally for reasons why we haven't achieved our goals or been successful. Maybe we invested in the wrong coach. Maybe it was the wrong course. Maybe it was the wrong time. And of course, external things can have an impact. But if we're able to take responsibility for ourselves, our decisions, and what has and hasn't worked, it will help us to be more successful. Here are the highlights from today’s episode: {1:15} Taking radical responsibilities {5:36} Everything happening in your business/life is a learning experience {9:04} Making commitments to yourself and honoring them Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en

Ep 18Ep 018: How to be a good leader
In this episode I will talk about leadership and how we can be real leaders. If we really want to be a leader, we need to step up with powerful self-leadership first. Leadership is not about what we tell others to do, it is an inside job. The most powerful, compassionate and authentic leaders are not those who shout the loudest, although they may be like me and they may be loud. They are people that practice leadership mastery and self-leadership first. I will share with you my experience and why it’s important to lead ourselves before leading others. Here are the highlights from today’s episode: {00:47} The good leader {3:16} First step to be a good leader: create opportunities for others {5:28} Second step: love mistakes {7:10} Third step: model what you expect and set boundaries Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en

Ep 17Ep 017: Making commitments to ourselves: going from half-assed to all in
In this episode we’re talking about how we can go from half-assed to all in. How we can change the habits, the belief structure and the thoughts that we have around our ability to do things and stick to them, rather than giving up and failing to keep those commitments. If you are making a commitment to yourself personally, you will be able to show up for your clients too. And if you are making a commitment to you, if you are showing up for yourself, you are going to show up for others, and you're going to do that on a much deeper level. Here are the highlights from today’s episode: {00:59} The importance of being in real integrity {3:50} Are the commitments that we want to make to ourselves really important to us? {5:17} The reason we failed our commitments {6:24} The solution: start small and make it non-negotiable Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en

Ep 16Ep 016: Are you able to get what you want?
In this episode we’re talking about manifestation. This means identifying what you want and why you want it and then going through a series of steps. It's not merely about saying that you want to have something and then not doing anything about it. Manifestation is about doing things in a particular way so that you're taking action towards what you want. Here are the highlights from today’s episode: {2:07} What is your why: be connected with your purpose {3:54} The importance of expression and confidence {4:34} Setting goals {5:34} Taking action Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en

Ep 15Ep 015: Figuring out your why to get motivated
How motivated are you? In this episode I talk about motivation. Motivation is a key determinant of success. We need to drive ourselves forward to achieve what we want in life. If you are not motivated and excited about what you are doing on an energetic level you need to ask yourself if your vision and goal is connected to your purpose or if you are doing what you think you “should” or what you truly want to? Ep 14Ep 014: The green-eyed monster: jealousy
In this episode we’re talking about jealousy. We're talking about envy. All of us have experienced this, both as a person who is feeling the emotion, and I've experienced other people saying to me that they're jealous of me. They're jealous of my success. They're envious of my success. Why do I deserve it when they haven't achieved it? But like anything, it's there to show us other things. Let’s talk about them. Here are the highlights from today’s episode: {1:49} Desiring what others have {3:08} Ask yourself the right questions {6:39} The importance of exploring your emotions when you feel jealous {7:00} Reflect on what you can change to obtain what you desire Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en

Ep 13Ep 013: The shiny object syndrome
In this episode we’re talking all about shiny object syndrome (SOS), which is the tendency for someone to chase something new. Be it a new business idea, tool or goal, rather than to stay focused on what they’re doing. It mostly affects entrepreneurs because they tend to be highly motivated people. How many times have you bought into something, a course, a program, because you feel that you need it, but then you haven't done it? How many times have you let FOMO really drive you? So shiny object syndrome means that you keep tapping into the next best thing. Here are the highlights from today’s episode: {0:49} The definition of SOS {4:01} The importance of having the “basics” in place {7:28} Questions to ask yourself {9:22} Find what you are going to invest in next Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en

Ep 12Ep 012: Set the appropriate boundaries in your life
In this episode we’re talking all about one of my favorite topics actually and that is about boundaries. We have to have some pretty honest and sometimes challenging conversations with ourselves and with others around boundaries. Here are the highlights from today’s episode: {1:06} Defining boundaries {2:21} Why boundaries are important {3:32} Where to start when setting boundaries {4:30} Communicate with people {6:38} The importance of managing expectations Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en

Ep 11Ep 011: Building out successful teams
In this episode we’re talking all about building out successful teams. The more that you see the areas that you're not great at, the areas that you're not flowing in, and you build your team around those, the more your team is going to be powerful. Ep 10Ep 010: Trusting your intuition
In this episode we’re talking about intuition or gut feelings. I have a feeling..., I always knew..., I wish I had listened to my gut..., It's something that we hear all the time, isn't it? By tapping into our intuition, we're able to tap in to past behaviours and past patterns. So our intuition isn't anything other worldly. It is really us recognising a pattern from the past. Our brains are very, very complex. And to short cut all of the decision making that we have to make, we often rely on our intuition. Our intuition is all about our brain recognising unconsciously, even those tiny details. Here are the highlights from today’s episode: {1:15} What is intuition? {2:35} How our intuition gives us clues {5:05} The halo effect {7:51} Building your intuition muscle Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en

Ep 9Ep 009: Live Coaching Call
Today's episode is a bit different. You're going to hear some snippets of a coaching session that I did with one of my clients, specifically to share with you guys. There's a couple of things that you'll notice. The first thing is how important it is for you to take some time with your clients to focus in on a really clear goal so you know where they're headed. Then at the end of the session, check in with your client and make sure that they're committed to take the action that they've said that they want to. If you want to get some live coaching with me on my podcast, I would love to have you. Feel free to drop me a message. Ep 8Ep 008: Transference and energy exchange
In today’s episode we’re talking all about the energy that we bring and others bring to conversations. We all know about Mood Hoovers, people who seem to suck the energy out of a room, and those people that we seem to meet, who give us energy and make us feel good. If we're honest, we can probably be both at different times depending on the situation, but some people are more likely to be Hoovers, and some people are more likely to be more energy giving. Here are the highlights from the episode: {1:47} Coaching and transference {4:12} How to deal with energy and transference {7:39} Clearing your energy between clients {10:28} How to recognise the negative effects Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en

Ep 7Ep 007: Having difficult conversations about money with others
Following on from the last episode, we’re talking about money and those difficult conversations we have to have with others about money. We know that money is a big cause of arguments. I always say, "Is it really money or is it people's beliefs around money? Is it people's behaviours about money? Is it what money means to them?" And I think it's really important early on in a relationship to have a very honest conversation and to talk about what money means for you both. This episode is all about having those difficult conversations with others about money. Here are the highlights from the episode: {1:17} How we feel about money influences our behaviour {2:49} Being honest about past behaviour {5:24} Having difficult conversations about money with close family and friends {7:07} Money as independence {9:30} Owning your relationship with money {10:57} Conversations that protect you as well as helping you to thrive Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en

Ep 6Ep 006: Having honest conversations with ourselves about money
How often do you think about money? Let's be honest, It's something that most of us have an interesting relationship with. In this episode I’m talking about us having honest conversations with ourselves about money, because ultimately however much we dislike or we don't respect money, it is something that is significant in our lives. If we're looking at a hierarchy of needs model like Maslow, we know that at that very basic level, we need to have our basic needs met, which includes shelter, food, clothing, warmth and safety. Ultimately, in the modern world, we need to have money to support us so we can meet those needs. If we have anxiety around our ability to meet those needs for ourselves and for others, then that's going to impact every area of our lives. Talking about this topic can feel difficult because many of us have these deep entrenched feelings, beliefs and stories that we tell ourselves about money. Here are the highlights from this episode: {2:35} Our relationship with money is not about money {3:58} Reflecting on your relationship with money {5:34} Our unconscious patterns around money {6:50} Challenging our beliefs and the stories we tell ourselves about money {8:28} What do you tell yourself about money? {10:49} Acting in ways consistent with your new beliefs Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en

Ep 5Ep 005: Connecting with yourself to work on what really matters
So how often are you honest with yourself about what you actually want and what you want your life to look like? I see so many people take on goals from other people. They say online "I want to make 10K months. I want to have a six figure business or a seven figure business. I want to weigh nine stone, 10 stone. I want to run a marathon in under three hours." We see all of these goals other people are setting and sharing, and we have this 'me too' approach. Honestly, if we're not connecting with ourselves and what we really want, then the goal setting is merely a vanity project and it's not going to have any meaning. Goals without meaning, money without meaning? There's nothing there. In this episode I’m talking about working on mastery goals and how you can implement them in your life so you have more of a focus on growing and learning and living within your values. Here are the highlights from this episode: {0:43} How often are you honest with yourself? {2:27} Are your goals really important to you? {3:01} Simple daily journaling practice {4:59} Values as the rules for our lives {6:38} Mastery goals {10:42} Being focussed on learning Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en

Ep 4Ep 004: Leaning into feelings and silence to help you thrive
Today, we're talking about conversations with yourself. You may have realised that to have those conversations, to help you thrive they need to start with you. So in this episode we’re talking about leaning into feelings and silence. I think it's so important for us to acknowledge that some of the conversations that we have with ourselves are going to be difficult. They're going to be painful. They're going to be emotional and it's completely okay to feel emotions. In fact, if you're not feeling emotions it’s often a sign that something is not right. So let's feel into those feelings. Let's learn to lean into them. {1:30} Some conversations with ourselves may be difficult {3:12} How sitting in silence can help {4:32} How we try to keep ourselves safe {6:42} Leaning into our emotions {8:07} Question to ask yourself Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en

Ep 3Ep 003: Asking for help is a sign of strength
There seems to be this idea in the UK, that when we ask for help it’s a sign of weakness. And I want to blow this myth out of the water. When we ask for help it's a sign of strength. We can’t do everything alone and in this episode I’m going to share with you how you get help in your life so you can be all you want to be and more. Here are the highlights from the episode: {1:38} Should I settle for 50%? {2:42} We don’t get to the top alone {4:41} Asking your ego for help {6:59} Our limitations Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en

Ep 2Ep 002: Tackling the Inner Critic
One of the ways that we can have conversations to help us thrive is when we start having those conversations with ourselves. I'm talking about having an honest conversation with yourself. I'm talking about tackling the inner critic, but also talking to that inner cheerleader. We all have them. We all have those voices in our heads that tell us to do things or tell us not to do things, and often we have other people's voices in there too. In this episode I’m sharing some tools to help you tackle your own inner critic. Here are the highlights from the episode: {2:02} Where to start {3:01} Your priorities and non-negotiables {3:59} What stops you? {4:34} What you tell yourself about your ability {5:50} Start with brutal honesty {7:01} Accountability Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en

Ep 1Ep 001: The Power of Saying No
If you're really considering that you want to change the way you feel, that you want to thrive, we're going to start looking at that two letter word that can change your life. The power of saying no. When we are able to say no to others, we're able to create boundaries. So in this episode we’re looking at how you can start to flex your no muscle so you can start to stand up for what you really believe in. So you're not being that yes man. So you're not always agreeing to what other people say, even when you don't want to. Here are the highlights from the episode: {1:35} When was the last time you said no? {2:13} Is no a complete sentence? {3:53} When it’s difficult to say no {5:05} An exercise for you to try Connect with Ruth: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ruthkudzi2/ Web: https://ruthkudzi.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruthkudzi/?hl=en
