On today's podcast, Paul introduces us to complex systems. This is a great distinctive that can help your client plan forward action by knowing how to fix and tune various types of systems.
Paul introduces us to four types of systems.
- Simple system - Ex. a toaster - I understand it and know how to fix it.
- Complicated system - Ex. a car - I understand some of it but don't know how to fix it. I need an expert.
- Complex System - Ex. an organization - I don't always understand it. Fixing it is not straightforward. I have to engage it and play with it.
- Probe
- Sense
- Respond
- Chaotic system - Ex. Someone shouts fire in a crowded movie theatre. I have to take immediate action.
