<p>"Who wants to advertise on Twitter with a maverick owner?," said Gideon Spanier, Campaign's UK editor in chief in this episode.</p><br><p>Since Elon Musk took over Twitter, renamed X, journalists have been busy keeping up with the contention surrounding the platform – from cutting staff by 80% to blaspheming advertisers for withholding adspend; <a href="https://www.campaignlive.co.uk/article/garms-discontinuation-sad-day-industry-brand-safety-experts-say/1884578" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">filing an antitrust lawsuit against GARM</a> causing the body to close, and posting on X saying <a href="https://www.campaignlive.co.uk/article/adland-urged-step-social-medias-role-uk-riots/1883359" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">“civil war is inevitable” in the UK after the riots</a> that took place this August.</p><br><p>After all the controversy, many of X's largest advertisers – including Apple, Warner Bros., Discovery, Sony and Disney – have left the platform.
