Ep 769768: The Sweet Science of Heart Rate Training Made Easy (TT)
I'm a big fan of not always stressing yourself out with the "micro" or the details of designing a workout program... I'd rather have you start to move your body, have some fun doing it, and enjoy all the mental and physical benefits that come with exercise... However, at some point you may want to take your workouts to the next level and when that time comes one of the best ways to do that is by listening to your body as to how hard you can push it... Everyone is different, which is why using a heart rate monitor can be a simple, but HIGHLY effective way to burn more fat, boost your metabolism, and keep your workouts safe at the same time... Tune into today's #CabralConcept 769 where I share with you the "sweet science" of heart rate training and exactly how to integrate it into your workouts - Enjoy the show! - - - Show Notes & Resources: http://StephenCabral.com/769 - - - Get Your Question Answered: http://StephenCabral.com/askcabral

Ep 767767: What to Ask for (and Why) When Running Your Annual Blood Work (TWT)
Running your blood work every 6-12 months should be mandatory in order to "catch" serious health issues quickly... The problem is that not all MDs or PCPs will run all the lab tests you should be looking at... For example, most MDs will run your cholesterol, but they overlook homocysteine and CRP, which when all elevated can spell serious trouble for inflammatory heart disease... Of course, all of these dis-eases are correctable, but you do need to know what you're dealing with in the first place... So, on today's #CabralConcept 767 I want to share with you what to ask for (and why) when running your annual blood work - Enjoy the show! - - - Show Notes & Resources: http://StephenCabral.com/767 - - - Get Your Question Answered: http://StephenCabral.com/askcabral
Ep 766766: How to Make Yourself Happy (MM)
Many people think happiness is elusive and that it's not something they could possibly achieve for any sustainable amount of time... I used to feel this same way until I began to use a simple system that all begins with realizing when you are at your best and feeling great... What I've found now is that life isn't supposed to be perfect all the time, but I believe we can feel happy the majority of the time if we first know what happiness looks like to us... Today, on #CabralConcept 766 I want share with you the mental exercise I use in my private practice to demonstrate how you can make yourself happy on daily basis in a very practical way - Enjoy the show! - - - Show Notes & Resources: http://StephenCabral.com/766 - - - Get Your Question Answered: http://StephenCabral.com/askcabral
Ep 765765: Carpal Tunnel, Mystery Jitteriness, Bells Palsy, ADHD, Nauseous After Eating, Prenatal Iron (HouseCall)
Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks… Let's get started! Viviane: Love your podcast, have learned so much. ok, straight to the point. My hands get numb at night , both hands, and wake me up several times during the night. Started a long time ago with the left hand , but now are both. Dr. said I had a very light case of carpal tunnel 5 years a go, gave me shots and for a couple years , it was fine. Came back and much worse. went again to DR, did nerve tests and same diagnosis. Got the shots again , which did ABSOLUTELY nothing this time, but made my hands very much uncpable for a couple days. I get numb even sleeping with braces they prescribed. My hands feel sore and hurtful , tender all day from the numbness at night. it is not the position i sleep in....please give me some light. Thank you so much. Joey: Dr. Cabral I am a 39 year old male that's an ex athlete that still works out everyday. My diet is really good and have been fasting between 12-16 hours a day for about a two years. The last three years I have been spending time coaching basketball in Eastern Europe in China(4 months). For the past year, I have been having serious lower throat pain that comes and goes usually lasting for weeks. Also while having this pain I get other symptoms such as blurred vision(especially bad in left eye), fatigue, lightheaded when standing up, dizziness, numbness in hands and feet(like they have falling asleep) and just overall really jittery and anxious. Doctor, I just feel off like everyone is moving around me in fast motion. It's really frustrated because nobody can seem to figure out what's wrong with me. Anything you can do would be appreciated. Thank you Joey Sue: Hi Dr. Cabral, Before Christmas I was under a lot of stress at work. We took a family trip after the holiday and on the first night I woke up and half of my face was paralyzed. The next day I phoned my dr. who prescribed predinisone and antiviral medicines which I took but I've seen no improvement. My dr says I have bells palsy. Can you please help me to understand why this may have happened and how I can begin to heal my body from the inside out? its been 3 weeks and there has been no change to my paralysis so far. Travee: what nutritional supplements would help a child with ADHA? Matt: Hi Dr. Cabral- Thank you so much for all you are doing to help people. I have a question about my wife and some nausea she is experiencing. She gets nauseous after almost every meal (and has for years) and needs something like gum or a piece of candy to get rid of the nausea. She is 35 years old and healthy. No smoking, known medical conditions, or health "dis-eases." :) I want to try to help her so we tried to find trigger foods to no avail. It appears unlinked to any foods or times of the day. Her grandmother also has the same issue and her nausea is helped by smoking cigarettes. I would love any advice or suggestions. Thanks again for everything. Taylor: Hi Dr. Cabral, As always thank you for the ways you share your wisdom & expertise for the community! I just received my pregnancy protocol in the mail from you. I am curious about the iron. I am planning on taking the prenatal vitamins for the next 3 months and then begin trying to conceive. Should I be taking the iron supplements now or when I get pregnant? I have heard conflicting things about if women get to much iron then they can easily overdose ect. Can you give me some more insight why taking iron is important and the specifics on if I should be taking it before conception/after conception? Thanks! Taylor Thank you for tuning into this weekend's Cabral HouseCalls and be sure to check back tomorrow for our Mindset & Motivation Monday show to get your week started off right! - - - Show Notes & Resources: http://StephenCabral.com/765 - - - Get Your Question Answered: http://StephenCabral.com/askcabral
Ep 764764: Corticobasal Degeneration, Nutrition Training, International Clients, Iron During Pregnancy, Kidney Failure, Mild Candida, Low Oxalate Diets (HouseCall)
Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: Elizabeth: Hi Stephen, I have a friend who has a family member suffering with corticobasal degeneration. Understand it's a rare dis-ease and wondered if you have had any experience with this treatment or if it's possible to be treated? Similar to yourself I believe everything can be treated or reversed but I am not familiar with CBD. Thanks for all you do and inspiring others to better health! Rachel: Good Morning Dr Cabral my name is Rachel I located in Queensland Australia. I have listened to your podcast with Melissa Ambrosini and your words spoke to me. I would love to know if you take online clients from Australia? I am also extremely interested if you offer any nutrition training? I am looking to start my course very soon and I would love to be able to take part any training that you offer as I really understanding the concept of what is best when it comes to health is individual for every BODY! Any information you could give me would be greatly appreciated, even if you can suggest a training course that I could complete that you would suggest. Katie & Susanne: Hi there, I'm in Australia and I would love to have a consultation with him as his story really struck a cord with me and he sounds like the right person to help me get well again. Is that possible via Skype of do I need to be living in America? Thanks so much. Kind regards, Katie Danielle: Hello! I would really appreciate your advice on post pregnancy iron deficiency anemia please, also what are your thoughts on black strapp molasses as a natural cure/treatment? Many thanks Danielle Lindsey: I am a firm believer of functional medicine and rebalancing the body to heal any disease. My daughter's father was recently diagnosed with severe kidney failure. They are still running test to see what the next step is but right now they're thinking dialysis. He's 34 years old and has been on hydrochlorothiazide, verapamil, and enalapril for high blood pressure for the pass 6+ years. He believed his high blood pressure was linked to these terrible migraines he's been suffering from for over 10 years. He was an avid user of over the counter pain pills to help with the migraines, especially excedrin. He follows the standard American diet with a lot of diary and no pork or red meat. I've listened to your podcasts on high blood pressure, migraines, high histamine foods, etc. Along with the other information I know, I'm starting him on a detox tomorrow eliminating a lot of the foods he currently eats. My thoughts are to find out what is triggering his migraines because I am almost certain it's food related. He's also going to start adjusting his schedule to getting 8 hours of sound sleep, working out (cardio and light weight training), and intermittent fasting. My question is, am I on the right track? My goal is to get him off of the pharmaceutical drugs and show him that he can balance his high blood pressure by changing his diet and lifestyle. I want him to work with a functional medicine doctor but he's still skeptical and brainwashed by conventional medicine. He's still taking his high blood pressure medication because everyone is telling him to keep doing it. What supplements can he add to help with the kidney failure and stress? And also, what labs would you recommend him to start with? Jen: Hi Dr Cabral, I was recently diagnosed with a mild case of Candida. My MD wanted to put me on antibiotics, but not only do I prefer to cure it naturally, as I understand it, Candida is fungal and not bacterial, so antibiotics wouldn't work anyway. Is that correct? I wondered if you could recommend a natural way to cure this mild case? I understand certain foods like cold smoothies and salads, can add to the dampness in the body and that I should stick to warm veggies and lean protein. Would that be your recommendation as well? Also, I have heard about accelerated silver and wondered about your thoughts on using it? Any advise is MUCH appreciated and respected. Thank you Jen Mary: Hello. I use your daily nutritional support shake and fruit and vegetable blend and have also used the detox you offer. I perceive that I am getting great health benefits from all of these products and have gotten several friends and family members hooked as well. I also listen to your podcast and find it very valuable and educating. Thank you for all you do. Could you explain your thoughts on the fad of low lectin and low oxylate diets and how this plays into your suggestion of having a predominately plant based diet. I would also like to know your thoughts on the Ayurvedic perspective of regular green smoothies being aggravating on the physiology of many people as they can be hard to digest. I presume this is due to the high fiber content and maybe the possible affects of lectins and oxylate

Ep 761761: The Fat & Toxic Flushing Breakfast Recipe (WW)
What to eat for breakfast is easily the most understood and challenging meal to get right... But, it hasn't always been this way - Up until the 1500's and then later in the 1920's breakfast had always been consistent with healthy living and following the natural digestive processes of the day... The problem is that when modern life and big corporations get involved with the media our version of what is healthy for us often times becomes perverted by private interest groups... On today's #CabralConcept 761 I reveal what to eat and what not to eat as we begin to rediscover what is truly best for our bodies... Ep 760760: How to Destroy Viruses, Herpes, Shingles & Cold Sores (TWT)
Viruses are on of the most overlooked reasons for poor health, fatigue, acne, low mood, brain fog, auto-immune, and inflammatory health conditions... What starts as a seamlessly harmless microbe ends up entering your system and then replicating until it literally wears down your immune system... The virus can then move into your actual DNA and bury itself so deep that it can be difficult to eradicate them... Luckily, we have scientifically proven all-natural methods for boosting the immune system, killing viruses, stopping the replication process, and beginning your recovery... Ep 759759: Let Go of Your Need for Controlling the Outcome (MM)
There really is one BEST way for achieving your desired goals and stepping into the life you've envisioned for yourself. It's a 3 step system that has been passed down for thousands of years through oral and written teachings: The 1st step is becoming crystal clear on exactly what you desire... The 2nd step is now transforming those thoughts into actions that will ultimately lead you to your goal... And the 3rd step is removing yourself from the need to control the outcome... It's this last step that most people have never been taught, which is why many people are literally blocking themselves from achieving their goals... Tune into today's #CabralConcept 759 to figure out how to let go of your need for controlling the outcome, so that you can finally truly create the life you've always desired - Enjoy the show! - - - Show Notes & Resources: http://StephenCabral.com/759 - - - Get Your Question Answered: http://StephenCabral.com/askcabral
Ep 758758: High Eosinophils, Kidney Filtering, Elevated Liver Function, Baby Formula, Collagen Recommendation, Plastic Ziplock Alternatives (HouseCall)
Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks… Let's get started! Lena: Hey Stephen, You've got a listener from paris! I really like your podcast, it is very informative! keep the good work ;) I've got a question about myself, i would sooo love for you to answer I will really try to be short ;) My name is Léna, I'm 30 year old, vegan, gluten free girl and since last july, i've began having big pain in my belly every time i ate, like the pain one got with gastroenteritis, where you move in all directions with your hands around your belly but never feeling relieved. It was lasting about 2 to 3 hours (maybe the time of digestion) with big pains on my back every time i ate. My eosinophils were very high in august, around 2200 (the high limit is in about 580!) then it drops to 1800 and a few months later to 750 but i think it did go up again later (i didn't do another analysis but had giant pains). I did a lot of blood tests, there were no parasites founded (but i took an anti-parasite pill), no H pilory, i did biopsies, 2 fibroscopies, 1 coloscopy but nothing founded I have a appointment in internal medecine at a hopital in a few months to find why i got very high and anormal eosinophils I did have a test to know if i'm sensitive to some foods: there were brazil nuts, eggs and some other nuts (little reaction) and other foods that i don't even eat (like corn, barley, milk etc.) i totally stopped brazil nuts and eggs for now. I will try to reintroduce them in a few months Anyway, my pains hurt for six months and in december, when I was really tired of suffering every time i ate (it was getting worse again), i saw a nutritherapist and she said to stop eating carbs (fruits, butternuts and vegetables like carrots and beets) for a short period of time and to increase anti inflammatory oils and decrease proteins. A very low carb globally (more vegan ketolike actually). I have complements like turmeric (curcumin), vitamin D, zinc, b12, glutamine, fish oils (and estroblock but it has nothing to do with that!) And in 3 days my pains decrease immensely! It's been almost a month and I already feel better. Sometimes i feel unconfortable or i feel pain but nothing compared to before But, i'm feeling a bit tired and i find it weird to eat so much fat (like more than a 120 g a day, less than 50 grams of net carbs a day but i'm more at 25g, and 60 gr of protein). And i didn't have my period this month... I'm afraid of my thyroid, my hormones and especially my acne since i had cystic acne all my life and it's been fine since the last year, one year after stopping the pill (which i had for 14 years!!!) So, my questions are: what do you think could explain my pains if it's not parasites or allergies? If you have an idea, what could be the solutions to feel better and have a normal life, which i so much want Should i maintain this "vegan keto diet" or what should I do? What complements should I take to regulate my hormones and not have acne. i feel so lost between opposite articles on the web about low carb / keto / diet / hormones, i feel quite abandonned by doctors, and it's just me, a young girl, stuck with this problem thank you so much for answering this, it would really mean a lot to me cheers from France because yes, even french people are listening to your podcast! ps: i always had trouble with digestion, but more like bloating and gas. I'm very sensitive. i'm very thin, i do sport, i eat a lot of vegetables ;) Ryan: Hey Dr. Cabral I am reaching to you on a recommendation from one of my clients and I believe your friend, Dave Armstrong "Army", in regards to my father. In September 2017 he had a partial knee replacement that resulted in an infection followed by heavy antibiotic treatment. Since that time he has been suffering with a multitude of health issues concerning his kidneys, blood platelets, diabetes, as well as his pancreatic and digestive function. He has seen over a half dozen different doctors and specialists and gone through just about every test or scan that they can think of. Yet, collectively they have absolutely zero idea of what's going on. The only answer they have given is more medication to mask the real problems. I fear that they will never get to the bottom of it and will just continue to medicate the symptoms away until one of the systems eventually fails. I'm not sure how your practice works but I would like to set up a consultation for him if possible. I will also be contacting your office as instructed by Julia via Dave. J.A.: Hi Dr Cabral, Love your podcast and learning about natural medicine. I am on a healing journey to resolve 'chronic mystery pain' that came on me 2 years ago and has not left. I have addressed Heavy Metals and had extensive testing OAT, HTMA all look ok. The only thing left is elevated LFT and billirubin my practitioner thinks this could
Ep 757757: CBD THC, Where to Start, Morning Sickness, Isagenix, Meet Health Conscious Singles (HouseCall)
Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: Deborah: Quick question about the CBD Oil - my daughter will be interviewing for jobs shortly and was concerned about the affect this product will have on any blood tests she may have to have. We are aware that the product does not contain THC which is one thing these blood tests look for, but will the CBD Oil have any other effect on a drug test? Also, she currently takes 50 mgs. of Trazadone for insomnia and has since she was young - anxiety runs in the family, as does insomnia, so I'm thinking the CBD Oil may help with her sleep issues and GAD. Should we be concerned about her taking the CBD Oil while also taking the Trazadone? Thanks for your help. Cynthia: Hi Dr Cabral, I have been following you and listening to you for a while. I have learned so much from your podcasts. I am at a loss as to what to do at this point. I have followed and read books by Dr Mercola and other like him for years. It seems like everyone has gotten on the band wagon with the Keto diet. I know it works but I didn't always feel great on it and there was part of me that just knew that all the extra protein that many said was ok couldn't be good for you. I know people that lost a ton on the Paleo as well. Again, there was a part of me that did not believe that some healthy grains are good for you. I even use a flour called Einkorn that has not been genetically modified. I have eaten non gmo/organic for years now. I also eat a very clean diet staying away from most processed foods. I have the knowledge, maybe too much and can't seem to get it right when it comes to what is the best diet for me. I liven the north east and it is hard to fine a Dr that believes in a more holistic way of health. The couple I found are only for the wealthy. I found a Dr who's claim was integrative medicine and who accepted my insurance. I was hopeful. I shared my history with her as follows. "I gained a lot of weight with my first child ( 95 lbs) and struggled to loose it. I had a bad knee injury from hiking years ago which at times made it hard to exercise. It worsened in time resulting in surgeries and a total knee replacement.Three children later and after 30 years of loosing 20-30 lbs and gaining it back plus some I am in need of loosing 100lbs. I crave carbs and sugar. I always used all organic ingrediance in my cooking and baking and pretty much cook everything from scratch. I love salads, a variety of vegetables, green smoothies, and many healthy foods. I even eat fermented foods. I know I eat too much and I know surger, even organic is not good for me. My cravings make me feel like an addict at times. I am sick of thinking about food so much!" I shared more things that I had learned and read over the years and her response was, "you know more that most, including me." At that time she said I would like to prescribe something that will help you with your cravings. She handed me a paper that said, Contrave-Naltruxone Wellbutrin. I said, is that a drug? To which she replied, yes! I was, needles to say so disappointed. I don't even take aspirin and this, "alternative" Dr. wants to put me on a drug to help with my eating! For how long, a month a year, life, then what? I never went back. So here I am deciding on the next course of action. I saved $300.00 and am wondering if I should do the Dr. Cabral 21 day detox to start and then get some testing done. Believe me, I would drive to Boston to see you if my insurance covered it. I really need help and I trust your knowledge and education and respect your desire to help others. You of all the Drs. I have listened to make the most sense. I want to know if I may be missing certain nutrients and need to be on a certain type of diet for a short period of time like you talk about and then change to something else for my body type. I also know that following healthy diet is for life. I am 62, have a good amount of energy, work part time out of the house and have a small home business). My last blood tests came back normal, including thyroid though slightly low in vitamin D. I am not on any medication. The detox sounds amazing and if you think I should start with that first, I will. There are just so many out there that claim to be the best. I want good health naturally and I don't want to put gmo's, non organic, synthetic things into my body. I can save for some of the test you talk about. I honestly wish I could do it all at once. Please advise me as I want to get started asap! Thank you for your time and all you do to help others. Sincerely, Cynthia Karin: Hi Dr Cabral, I have a question for you regarding morning sickness during pregnancy. Firstly..... why do some women get it and can it be avoided or minimized? I had it REALLY badly for 20 weeks and it scares me to even think about having another child. My m

Ep 755755: The Top 8 Fitness Trends for 2018 (TT)
Every year I enjoy seeing what the projections are based on current growth of certain trends within the health & fitness industry... It always amazes me how specific group classes start to catch fire and go on to become the next "hot workout..." This year seems to be no different with some areas trending into wearable technologies, online class options, and even "braining training..." Ep 754754: Create Your Own Rotation Diet to Figure Out Your Hidden Food Sensitivities (WW)
Although I'm an advocate of food sensitivity testing, food reactions can go so much deeper than immune cell testing could ever find... What I mean by that is you could be reacting to histamines, bacterial overgrowth, fatty acids, purines, nightshades, fermentation, lectins, or any number of other natural food elements... This is why with my "most sensitive" private clients, I use a "Rotation Diet." It's not hard to implement and it has literally changed lives by controlling the different variables used with meal planning... Ep 753753: How Not to "Re-Tox" After a Detox (TWT)
This has been a popular question as of late: "How do you go through a cleanse or detox without sliding backwards after you complete the 7, 14, or 21 days?" Believe it or not, the answer is a lot easier than it may seem... The reason for this is that you don't have to be perfect in order to keep your results coming, as well as maintain what you achieved on your detox... What you need to do is simply keep what was working going, as you begin to add new variables back into your daily life and routine while testing what works for your body (and mind)... Ep 752752: Discover the "3 D's" for Developing a New Habit (MM)
One of the best ways to manifest the life you want is to begin to develop new habits... The reason I say this is because it is not one major action in life that pushes you towards your goals or potential, but rather thousands of seemingly small decisions along the way... My goal for you is to begin to make a few small tweaks that over time will literally revolutionize your life... I can almost guarantee that after developing these new habits you will look back months and years from now and won't be able to comprehend how much your life has changed for the better! Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks… Let's get started! Karin: Hi Dr Cabral, I heard your podcast with Melissa Ambrosini and have since been obsessed with your podcast. You have given me some hope. My issue is ... acne. And I know you see it a lot and have talked about it a lot but I can't really get a clear view of what my cause is and what I need to do. See I live in Australia and can't do your detox, if you know of a similar one in Australia that you would recommend please let me know. My acne started as a teenager, over the years I have gone on roacctune which has helped, but I never ever want to do that again. Horrible drugs. I was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago. I then changed my lifestyle, eat well and cleaned out a lot of the chemicals and toxins in my house and life. I would say I am on a good path. Through these changes I was able to regulate my period however my skin never cleared. I feel like I have tried it all. 2 years ago I fell pregnant and my skin was amazing throughout breastfeeding. Then when i stopped and my period began again the acne came back. It started as lots of tiny bumps on my forehand and then around my mouth, on my chest and the odd one on my back. I feel like this might give you some insight. A few questions: - Does the location of the acne relate to specific problem areas? E.G- forehand with digestion? Chin with hormones? - I had a jaw operation as a teenager and have 2 screws in my jaw now for life. Would this metal have an effect on me? Not exactly sure what type of metal it is. - If I cant do your detox, how do I clean my blood? Other suggestions or detoxes you can recommend? - From my story can you tell where the problem is coming from? - I saw a naturopath and she advised I am slightly acidic and prescribed an alkalizing drink as well as a vitamin C and zinc supplement (i was also low in zinc). I must say this has helped and I would like to continue with this. - What kind of lab test would you recommend? I will have to look into where I can find them here in Oz. Thank you for your help! There must be an underlying issue, but I am just not sure what to do to find out what it is. Another random question.... we don't really get wild caught salmon here much. What is your take on canned wild caught salmon? Leigh: Hi, I am interested in your hormone testing kit but I live in NSW Australia, is there anyone over here that you could suggest that offers similar testing? Regards Leigh Panagiota: Hi! I love your podcast !! I have reoccurring cold sores on my lip . I have been using Abreva it helps but I constantly need to use it. I'm looking forward to your advice is hard to deal with it's very annoying problem. Thank you Panagiota Kelly: Hello and Happy New Year, Dr. Cabral! On podcast #702, you mentioned you needed someone to reorganize your podcast collection. I would be happy to work for you remotely as I live in Colorado. I listen to multiple Cabral Concept podcasts each day and really find the work you are doing honorable! I am employed 40 hours Sunday-Wednesday, but would be available Thursdays and Fridays to work for you remotely. I use your search function frequently and have ideas on how it could be improved for ease of use. I am currently employed in Medical Records department of a major healthcare (aka Sickcare) system, but just left my previous career in public education after 10 years. I have a B.S. Degree in Psychology and a Masters of Education degree. Please email or call if I could be of service to your organization! Thank you for all you do in disrupting the corrupted healthcare system and helping people get well! I'm currently on day 6 of a 21 day Cabral Detox! Lynn: What are your thoughts on Les Mills Body Pump classes as a 3 days per week full body workout? The classes are full body weighted exercises with a focus on high reps thus requiring lower weight than what I would normally do for weighted execises with 8-10 reps. Michelle: Hi Dr. Cabral, I love your show and am currently attempting to go through the backlog of your shows for information to help my family become healthier, its such an amazing source of information. Thank you for the transparency of information, its such a blessing. I have just received my sons stool results, he's an Autistic 3 yo with a clostridium overgrowth and high fecal inflammation. We are being put on Flagyl. I was wondering if we should also use biocidin once we are off the antibiotic? We are giving him Sacc B while on the antibiotic. We have also found high levels of metals and I was wondering if we should wait to heal his gut before beginning any sort of natural chelation or heavy metal detox. What would be your course of action and timeline for my son? On a side note, Ive bought your detox program but am waiting to hear whether I should wait to begin the program until after I
Ep 750750: Remove Cravings, Stressed Vata, Sourdough Bread, Rebalance Body Type, Enema vs. Detox Benefits, Jump Roping vs. Rebounding (HouseCall)
Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: Lynn: I am about to begin your 21 day detox on Saturday and hoping it will cure me of my cravings, binge eating, weight gain, inflammation, hormonal acne, etc. I am worried that cheat meals after the detox will jump start my bad habits and cravings again. How do I prevent this from happening? Ali: I'm a vata body type with a kapha imbalance (aka, I have more body fat than I should and despite eating clean and working out, sleeping well, etc). I can eat a meal around lunch time and not be hungry again until the next morning after a workout, but I wonder if I'm doing more damage than good hormonally/metabolically...? On the Melissa Ambrosini Podcast you mentioned that you don't recommend intermittent fasting -- but on one of your own podcasts you do say that you recommend the 24 hr fast. Why is 14-16 hours problematic (how is it impacting my hormones), but 24 hours isn't? Is 16 hours still problematic if I don't feel like I'm stressing my body out or putting it into any kind of starvation mode during that time? I'll sometimes end that 12-16 hour overnight fast with high-intensity workout in the morning… and I won't eat until an hour or so after that workout, which usually comes out to 12-16 hours, no problem. Even though I'm not hungry, is that still causing stress to my system and being counterproductive for weight loss? Why is 24-hour fasting one day a week a better thing to do? Isn't that also putting the body into a stress mode? I worry that it would slow my metabolism and be counterproductive to weight loss.. Elisabeth: Hi I was wondering whether sourdough bread and whole grain pastas are considered processed carbs? Are they ok to have in moderation? I will have Mung bean pasta once per week or so and sourdough here and there. I understand that you are not suggesting not to have quinoa, Buckwheat and rice etc but wondering how you feel when they are made into flours and then pancakes etc? Thanks! Tahleah: Hi Dr Cabral I listened to your interview with Melissa Ambrosini and I was not only inspired but also hit with some mega truth. It highlighted what I'd been questioning over the last few months... taking a break from coaching others in order to give back to myself, to re-balance my own constitution, so I can serve more powerfully. I'm passionate about what I do but unfortunately that passion has been weathered... I don't feel as inspired as I used to coach others and that has made me feel really guilty, simply due to a lack of energy. I know this is my path, but the expression of this path is not aligned right now. My personal health has been chaos... dealing with gut health issues, parasites, imbalances, anxiety - mostly due to overworking because of financial stress. For me, my biggest guilt trip has been, not being the full embodiment/example of health I want to be and have full potential to be. But I'm confused, I know what I need to do but I lack energy that I'm just in survival mode... Your episode brought me back to my personal love for Ayurveda; re-visiting my constitution, which is Vata/Pitta. So, I have a few questions... 1. I know there is your constitution you're given at conception, then there is the constitution you're expressing now due to stress. I've dealt with stress for so long, that I'm wondering if Vata/Pitta is even my natural constitution? What is the best way to start re-balancing? I've worked with an amazing Ayurvedic coach and she could tell straight off the bat I was more Vata but was showing Kapha imbalance with the gut health issues. I've improved slightly, no snacking with a regular metabolism which requires me to eat about every 4-5 hours focusing on three meals per day and maybe one light snack in between depending on what I've eaten or how long until I get home to cook. It's been working well but I'm extremely fatigued and still trying to get by, I don't want to live like this. My second question is, what's the best way to do a meal plan based on my body type to re-balance? Do you have any resources that could point me in the right direction? I love your work and will start to listen to your podcast. Thank you so much for being an example of wellness and living your dosha. Much gratitude Tahleah :) Anonymous: Thanks for all the great info! Regarding detox, I take a coffee enima 2-3 days/week. Is any other detrox protocal necessary or will this be sufficent? Lynn: I had a question about your podcast on the benefits of rebounding. Do other jumping exercises such as jump roping or jumping jacks replicate the benefits of a rebounder or is it different? How do they compare? Thank you for tuning into today's Cabral HouseCall and be sure to check back tomorrow where we answer more of our community's questions! - - - Show Notes & Resources: http://StephenCabral.com/750 - - - Get

On today's show I want to explain the results from a $10 Million Military Special Ops study on ketone drinks and how they may (or may not) boost performance... Also, I've wanted to review this whole food healthy fat for some time, which is often referred to as "Golden Fat." And finally, I can't wait to share with you our super-nutrient of the week, which is helpful for everything from energy conversion, auto-immune dis-eases, Alzheimer's, digestion, stress reduction, and much more! Ep 747747: Are You Suffering from These Signs of Inflammaging? (WW)
"Inflammaging" is now a widely accepted term in both the conventional medicine and natural health world... It essentially is a catch-all term for all the symptoms associated with aging that relate to an increase in inflammation throughout the body and brain... The problem is that all this inflammation has a root cause, but unfortunately in conventional medicine they only treat the symptoms associated with the inflammation... This means that although the outward symptoms have been masked the true underlying imbalances still exist and when left untreated only manifest themselves as even more severe dis-eases in the future... Ep 746746: How to Halt & Reverse Alzheimers & Brain Based Diseases (TWT)
As we're exploring the topic of brain based diseases and how they ultimately end up as Alzheimer's or dementia, it's important to understand this: All brain based health issues can be treated, halted, and often reversed the same way other bodily health issues can be... What it takes is uncovering the underlying root causes causing the inflammatory response and then eliminating or rebalancing them... It may be easier said than done, but the truth is that when it comes to your long-term brain health it's absolutely worth going through the process (the sooner the better)... Ep 745745: Free Your Mind by Using These Rhythms & Routines (MM)
The more the years pass by the more I realize that getting ahead in any aspect of your life has to do with a focused mindset... And in most cases, it's not usually what you add into your life that sets you up for success, but rather what you take away... This "addition by subtraction" philosophy actually allows you the brain space to then for the very first time see clearly enough what needs to be done to be successful in reaching your goals... Ep 744744: Infertility Issues, Breastfeeding & Candida Overgrowth, Congestive Heart Failure, Heart Palpitations, Stubborn Eczema (HouseCall)
Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks… Let's get started! Jessica: Good Afternoon, I heard Dr. Cabral speak on Melissa Ambrosini's podcast earlier today, and I was blown away with his interview. I'm a 34 year old female who lives in Georgia, and I'm seeking a naturopath who can help with my infertility issues. I currently have an FSH level that is 78, and while my thyroid levels came back normal from a western medicine standpoint, I don't believe the level is normal for me. Am I a good candidate for your services? Can you work with patients remotely? Please let me know as I'd love to set-up a consultation. I look forward to hearing back. Kind Regards, Jessica Ani: Hi, I'm currently breastfeeding my 16 month old and am planning to get pregnant again this year. I had SIBO and candida while I was pregnant and definitely want to be clear for the next baby. I have successfully cleared my SIBO during this time but would like to also get rid of the candida, lose some excess weight and detox before I get pregnant. How can I do this while breastfeeding? I have a lot of lumpy cellulite and fluid retention. I'm on a low carb, low sugar/dairy, no gluten diet. Sorry if this question is too long. I live in Australia otherwise I would become a patient! Thanks Ani Bernard: Hello I was directed to you from one of your avid listeners and supporters that I follow on Instagram (Tyler Jean @functional.foods ) he suggested I pass my query on to you to get a clearer answer. Without further ado here is the deal I am interested in doing a detox of some sort or at least doing some changes in my diet to assist in weight loss as well as just eat a diet that better assists my body to heal from my current situation. I was hoping you may have some insight as to where I should start. However I think you need some info about me to understand what Obstacles I am facing. I am a 29yo male 6ft2 249lbs. I am going through congestive heart failure and have heart disease that I was born with. The current treatment is a host of medication. Eventually I will need a transplant. My concern is that a detox will put me in danger of effecting how these meds work. The other obstacle I face is I am currently on a diet (set by my doctor) that states I am not to have more the 2000mg of sodium/day and I am only allowed to have 64oz of fluid/day. This puts a damper on a lot of detoxes I have found because most encourage and/or require you to ingest a lot more fluids due to the removal of unwanted materials being stripped away and need the extra fluids to help clean them out of the system. Also I have to be careful since I am on the low sodium diet not to overwhelm my system with potassium because with the low amount of fluids and sodium the potassium can potentially be just as harmful. I think a detox is what my system needs to help continue the healing process and help me get to my target weight of 210lbs fully clothed. I think this will be healthier for me and safer when the time comes that I need the transplant. Just don't want to risk doing it wrong. Sorry this is so long and thank you for listening. Sincerely Bernard Kat: Hi Dr. Cabral. I've been listening to your podcast for quite a while now, and love all of the information you are sharing. I had a question on behalf of a friend, who has been having some issues with brain fog, and having heart palpitations quite randomly (not linked to stress/anxiety as they can happen in the calmest of states). Doctors say he's fine, perfectly healthy heart and have no concerns, but he feels it's still not normal to experience both as often as he does. Alcohol does trigger the palpitations (they will happen the day after some drinks), but that makes me wonder if something else he is ingesting/exposed to on a more regular basis could be eliciting the same reaction? Diana: Hello, I just want to start off by saying that I love listening to your podcast. It's so informative and I love learning from you. Question: I've had eczema all my life and about 4 years ago I decided to make a few drastic changes in order to improve my condition and heal. I gave up all meat and dairy (went mostly vegan), and stopped consuming alcohol. With this I experienced huge improvements in my skin, but never healed completely. More recently I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and have noticed that since giving birth my eczema has been getting progressively worse. During my pregnancy I began to consume meat again (mostly clean meat) because I had been anemic in the past and didn't want to risk it during my pregnancy even though I was taking iron pills. Prior to getting pregnant I was getting ready to do a liver detox to further my healing, but now that I'm nursing I know it's best not to do any type of detox until I'm no longer breastfeeding. What protocol do you suggest I follow to help improve/he
Ep 743743: Testosterone Cream, Minimal Change Disorder, White Spots on Cheeks, Ayurvedic Book Recommendations (HouseCall)
Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: Carol: Hi Dr Cabral! I want to start out by saying I absolutely love and very much appreciate the valuable content of your podcast. I started listening about 9 months or so ago when I was searching for information on IF, I found your podcast and I have been listening everyday. A little back ground on me I have my BS in nutrition sciences from Louisiana State University and a NDTR (registered nutrition and dietetic technician) the only thing separating me from RD is an impossible to get into and very expensive internship. I would like to say I am knowledgeable when it comes to nutrition because Hey I have a college degree, but most of the time I do not because I feel that most of the things I have learned at the university setting are very innacurate. I am writing today to ask for your advice and direction for my husband. About 1 year ago he saw a urologist for a vasectomy, prior to the surgery blood tests showed that his testosterone levels were very low, about 100-200. He was given a topical testosterone supplement and would follow up every 3 'months or so to check levels. The supplement, now at the highest dose was working but at last visit it has stopped. Fast forward to about 6 weeks ago the MD prescribed testosterone injections every 2 weeks and his level was still at 104. Since then he has now been instructed to administer weekly. I feel so hopeless bc if I should be so bold to say living with him is very stressful because his stress level is always on high. He is irritable, moody and not always fun to be around. He is also so tired, he had always fallen asleep very easily but he says during the day his fatigue and energy levels come in waves. He eats well, we follow the 80/20 rule, but when he is "on" he is ON with his calories and macros and so on. He works out about days a week. Takes vitamins daily, maybe not the most potent but at least it is something. I have tried telling him. Can you provide any help or guidance?? Thank you so much. Carol Tianna: Hi! I have an autoimmune disease called minimal change disorder and it has relapsed a couple of times this last year. I'm sick of being on high doses of prednisone to keep it under control. I was wonder what naturopathic medicine recommends for my illness. Thanks, Tianna Cristi: Hi Dr. Cabral, Your podcast is such a fabulous resource, and we're enjoying your daily protocol. I ghave a question about my 9 year old son. He has small white spots on his cheeks that are not noticeable most of the time. If he's very cold or hot they show up more, or if all the blood rushes to his face, like when he hangs upside down at the park, it's visible. I believe I first noticed it after we had been out sledding on the cold. It faded as he got warm but never disappeared completely. It could have been there before, and maybe I never noticed it. He's very fair, and he has gotten sunburned a few times, mostly when he was at camp and did not reapply sunblock. The pediatrician suggested some kind of sun damage, told us to moisturize and to see a dermatologist if it didn't clear. We will do that, but to be honest, I trust your opinion more, and I want to be prepared when visiting the dermatologist if he tries to give us some kind of steroid cream, which may not be the best. Thank you! Kat: What books would you recommend for someone looking into starting to read more about ayurvedic medicine, functional/natural medicine? I love listening to your podcast and would love some insight on good books to start off with! Ep 737737: Implants, Alcohol & SIBO, Crohns, Hormonal Acne, Vascular Headaches (HouseCall)
Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks… Let's get started! Christa: Hi Dr Cabral, Thank you for this great podcast. I've been listening to daily since I heard you on another podcast about a month ago. I am 42 years old. 5' 7" 130 lb small boned typical type A personality so primarily Vata. I was diagnosed with MS about 11 years ago. I immediately decided to start exercising and eating healthy to give my self a sense of control over a condition I was told I had no control over. I currently workout 5 days a week as well as walk daily and am starting to work yoga back into my routine. I eat a primarily plant based diet. I gave up grains and dairy in 2017 when I decided to stop listening to my doctors who had me on prescriptions for migraines, fatigue, and bladder control on top of the Tecfidera for the MS. All my issues were blamed on MS but after changing my diet I successfully got off all but the Tecfidera. I still have some gut based issues such as bloating, the occasional headache that comes along with flushing (a side affect of the Tecfidera??) I'd like to get off the Tecfidera and figure out what is causing the rest of my gut based issues. I am wondering where to start. Since I had so much success with my recent diet changes I've been wanting to get a food sensitivity test done to see what else could be an issue. One more complication, I had breast implants done 6 months before my MS diagnosis. Not a single doctor has suggested a correlation but recently I've seen a lot of information that suggests this surgery could be the root cause of the MS. I plan on getting explant surgery in the next 12 months so I am not sure what I can do in the meantime and what I should wait to do after the surgery. Thank you for taking the time to read my long email. I appreciate any suggestions and advise you can give. Christa Hill: Hi Dr. Cabral, Firstly, your podcast has seriously changed my life and I appreciate all your sage advice. My inquiry is regarding alcohol use & SIBO. I am 29 and My GI diagnosed me with SIBO after taking a breath test and I've since began the Candida Protocol. I was an athlete in High School & College and had to stick to a strict diet consisting of veggies, only fish, no sweets, and occasional starches. I've maintained this diet to present day. I was a pretty heavy drinker in my early 20s and continued to drink on the weekends up until my diagnosis with SIBO. Can alcohol use cause SIBO ? And/or what is the relationship between alcohol use and SIBO ? Thanks! Katie: Can you talk about crohns on a show? Specifically what are the best and worst foods to eat & why? My husband has had a terrible quality of life for the last 15 years or so when it comes to pain & flare ups. He gave up on his medicine & medical doctor after coming to the understanding that what he was taking led to cancer (Cimzia) - he gets by with drinking ensure and naked juice as his main nutrition, toast or cream of wheat for Breakfast and chicken with Mac n cheese or rice as dinner - this is his typical diet for about 6 years) He believes at this point in his journey that veggies will put him in the ER (he's not tried it) and that milk is one of the only things he can tolerate. I think he needs re education but I'm not sure where to send him (yes, I've tried getting him to listen to your podcast) thanks for any thoughts! I owe so much to you in my own personal health journey Amber: Dr. Cabral Where to begin how grateful I am to have stumbled across your podcast about a year ago now! Since then I have been able to implement some of your protocols. Despite lifestyle changes I continue to suffer from cystic acne, with occasional headaches, and brain fog. I am 31 yr female, 5'9 160 lbs, I lift weights regularly with yoga & mobility work. I have had acne since about the age of 15. I have let my skin affect all aspects of my life, and have never felt comfortable in my own skin. I struggle with anxiety because of this. I wrote to you before and now again after I found out my dermatologist of 15 years was now retiring, and despite my many years of commitment to healing my skin naturally, and through my efforts to heal my skin through elimination diet, 21 day detox, and eliminating alcohol, caffeine, sugar and grains I still struggle with my skin. As a personal commitment to myself, I chose to take Accutane. In my last resort and desperation to live life without being at the mercy of how my face looks. I started this the beginning or December 2017, and not even a month in I am beginning to feel heavy pressure in my head, along with mild hair loss, and recently noticing some g.i. upset. Terrible pain in my stomach, clay reddish colored stool, and orange tinge urine. However, I am also just recovering from some stomach flu so I don't know if this could even correlate with the Accutane. This is extre

Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: Cassidy: Hi Dr. Cabral, I'm not sure whether you deal much in feminine health, but I always enjoy listening to your house calls and thought you may be able to help. I'm an overall healthy woman in my 20s. However, I find that during sex, I typically don't produce much or any of my body's own natural lubrication, regardless of level of arousal. This dryness always leaves my vagina irritated, itchy and sore for several days after sex. I mentioned it to my doctor and she suggested using a lubricant gel, this does help, but I would like to get to the root of the issue. Not to mention, avoid all the synthetic chemicals in those lubricants. The odd thing is, I believe I produce a normal to above average amount of vaginal discharge during my day to day life. I can rule out any stds as the cause, as I have been tested at my recent OB/GYN visits. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Elizabeth: I was wondering if I would still get an accurate food sensitivity test result if I have hypocomplementemia? I am very low in C4 and c3 and didn't want to spend the money on the test if this could affect it? Emily: Dear Dr. Cabral, First and foremost, thank you for all you and your staff have done to help improve my and my family's health over the past year! You are providing the valuable gift of knowledge, as well as ways to apply this knowledge for greater health, which has been priceless. My question is regarding is regarding my 17 year old son. He was diagnosed with celiac disease 5 years ago, which he manages superbly. For two years, his blood test was showing low white blood cell counts, so they had us visit a pediatric hematologist. The hematologist was not concerned at the results and cleared him of any further visits. When I asked my son's celiac doctor if there was any lifestyle changes that we could take to improve this, she said no, however, I am skeptical at this response. I would like to hear your opinion on whether or not there is any lifestyle change(s) we can make to improve my son's white blood cell count? Keep up the excellent work! You are making a real difference! Rebekah: Hello! My husband is 25 years old and predominately a kapha/endomorph body type. Standard American diet, has an enormous sweet tooth, sedentary, and overweight. Amongst the obvious health issues one thing that happens is hypinc jerking. Most nights it's a minor twitch here and there for up to 5 in a row and other times it's he'll wake me up from my sleep with a jerk that feels like he's jumping out of bed. The jerking happens pretty much every night while falling asleep. He also moans/wails a lot in his sleep, it sounds like he's scared. His sleep patterns are very irregular and maybe every couple of months he'll go through a week or two of insomnia like phases where he'll sleep about 3-4 hours a night. It breaks my heart to see him in his 20s and already unhealthy and I know that broken or lack of sleep can be incredibly stressful on the body. I know this frustrates him so I'd like to know what could cause and cure this one ailment in hopes that his mind will change concerning the importance of health. Thank you for the help you give to us all Angela: Hi Dr. Cabral, Thanks again for being the best and answering more questions of mine! My father-in-law barely survived a fire on Christmas morning. We are so thankful he is alive, but after suffering Carbon Monoxide poisoning, he is having the latter affects of lung tissue damage. He is in his mid-50's, and has never been a smoker. He has been experiencing chest pain which he said is worse when he showers, due to the hot water. Can you make any suggestions for him to clear out the toxins in his lungs and to repair any damage? Thank you for all your help, you really are the best! Angela Judy: Hi Dr. Cabral, I am your #1 fan and have been catching up on all your previous podcasts. You mentioned in a previous podcasts that pull-ups (along with squats, deadlifts, lunges, step ups, etc.) are important to incorporate in our 3x per week full body workouts. Do you have any tips on how to do an unassisted pull-up? I have been lifting weights for years and have yet to successfully complete a pull-up on my own and would like 2018 to be my year. Have a happy and healthy 2018! Judy Wendy: I have ordered CBD oil twice. I understand it does not contain THC. I need to know if this oil will cause any issues during a drug test for employment purposes. I routinely have to submit to drug testing and now that I've started using the CBC oil, I'm a bit nervous about my next drug screen. Thank you for your input. I love the product by the way. Julie: Hi there, should I be concerned about stool that floats? My stool has floated since I can remember and I am now reading the plethora of issues this may potentially be ass

Ep 730730: C-Section Bloating, 5 Health Books, Low Platelets & MDS, Pink Spots, Atrial Fibrillation, Battling Gas, Ceramic Cookware, Absorbing Water (HouseCall)
Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks… Let's get started! Lisa: Hi, Dr. Cabral! I am 48 years old and about 175 lbs. I'm always bloated, but I eat healthy. My upper right stomach area is more bloated and distended than the left. My Dr. isn't concerned because of how long it's been like that; assuming it;s from the 4 c-sections I've had in the past. I always feel bloated. I know that stress has me producing Cortisol (based upon my own research). Should I try an elimination diet? Joana: Dear Dr. Cabral, I have been listening and reading the information that you have been giving in your podcast and in your site for a week now. You have a lot of great information. Probably you have talked about this before but I still didn't find it...my question is: if you had a friend who is studying to be a functional or integrative health coach or doctor, which 5 books would you give her as a present? Thank you so much for all that you do. I hope this question is of interest to you. Louis: Dr. Cabral, I heard you on the Jason Ferruggia podcast and was very impressed with how intuitive you were regarding ectomorphs, training, etc. It really struck a chord with me. That being said, I'm actually writing on behalf of my father. He suffers from an extremely low platelet count and suffers from something called MDS. I was just wondering if you had any suggestions on how he could naturally raise his platelet count. I can be reached at the e-mail address provided. Thank you very much. Alex: Hello Dr. Cabral, i've Been a big fan of your podcast for some time now, been in your Boston office for a massage and an infra-red sauna, done a 7-day detox and follow many of your recommendations. I'm 90% vegetarian and do not take any medications other than biotin, ashwaganda, Vit D, and magnesium or Valerian root (at night). About 6-7 weeks ago I noticed a big bright pink spot under my arm, within the next 2 weeks similar but smaller spots appeared on my chest, stomach and upper legs. There are also multiple smaller spots surrounding these big spots. They are somewhat itchy but not too bad. I went to see a dermatologist who diagnosed me with Pityriasis rosea and gave me cortisone cream. I have not picked up that prescription cream from the pharmacy, but instead tried to use coconut oil, tea tree oil on these spots with no results. Dr. Google also has no info on the root cause or treatment for this condition and basically says that it usually goes away with 8-10weeks on its own. I have not seen any improvement and would like to get your opinion. Can you recommend any treatment? Truly appreciate your help and the education that you provide daily. Thank you! Bryan: Hi Dr. Cabral, I have paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and have been put on a beta blocker to help control the symptoms. My goal is not to be on medication for my whole life as I am only 32. Other then losing weight, what other suggestions from a naturopathic point of view can I do to help keep my heart in normal sinus rhythm? Thank you for the help! Bryan Anonymous: Hi Dr. Cabral, So glad I found your podcast and appreciate everything you do. I've been battling gas, bloating and constipation for years and was recently diagnosed with SIBO. I listened to episode #544 on "Mono meals" and you mentioned that you don't advise people with weak digestive systems to eat salads but the Candida Protocol recommends a diet high in vegetables. What is the best course of action while on the Candida Protocol ? Cooked over raw vegetables ? Stay away from veggies all together ? Thank you! Donna: Dear Dr. Cabral Support Team, I listened to a recent podcast on cookware. In local stores I saw ceramic (nonstick) cookware. Is that what is recommended because I wasn't sure about the nonstick coating. Also I saw some spoons/Turners molded from 100% bamboo but also had a slick nonstick coating. Should those be totally wood instead? Respectfully, Donna Donna: Dear Support Team, My Dr. doesn't think I am absorbing water very well since my skin is dry and my throat gets dry every night through the night. I weigh 128#/ 5'6". I drink approx. 72oz. of water daily. I work out, eat a Dr. Cabral clean diet, Have done the 7 day detox, 90 Candida Gut Cleanse followed by the two supplements to seal it up (Healthy Belly and forgot the other one), a liver cleans. I take magnesium, his Vit. C, Vit. D, a pharmaceutical grade fish oil,Probiotic, Dr. Cabral recommended healthy fats, and I just started on his daily shakes & fruit/veggie powder, and use the counter top Berkey filter with our well water. Any suggestions? Ep 729729: Smelly Feet, Vegan Supplements, NY Labs, Mesenteric Lymphadenitis, Low Libido Test, Low T (HouseCall)
Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: Anonymous: Dr Cabral, thank you so much for taking time to answer all of your community's questions. My husband has a strong odor to his feet to the point where no spray, no powder can help. He wears work boots all day and does construction in Boston. He's in the boots for probably close to 12 hours a day. We go through buying him new boots all of the time because they are honestly putrid. We have a boot warmer that is supposed to help but will knock you on your toosh if you walk in the basement. His diet is ok, could be a lot better. Exercise is basically just his work. He wants to start eating better and working out. What could be the cause of this terrible smell coming from his feet? Sincerely a wife who is tired of throwing away socks and buying expensive work boots all of the time. Maxine: Good afternoon! I am writing to confirm that the following products are vegan-- as in no animals or animal byproducts: Activated B-Complex Daily Activated Multi-Vitamin Daily Nutritional Support Shake I just really want to be sure, thank you(: Maxine Lauren: Hi, I live in NY and am greatly interested in taking the organic acid test. I know the lab you use cant be used in NY; however, I was wondering if you can recommend any other labs or if there is any other way I can get this test. Thank you! Louise: Dr. Cabral. I am very impressed with your breadth of knowledge and commend the stance you take on health and healing. It is courageous and standout individuals like you who will transform the healthcare and fitness industries for the better. My question pertains to the health of my 13 year-old daughter. Over the years, she has had four bouts of mesenteric lymphadenitis. The attacks of severe abdominal pain sometimes accompanied by vomiting seem to come on fairly suddenly and the after-effects can last weeks. She tested positive for the gluten and casein sensitivity gene, however being a teenager she has not been 100%compliant with her diet, in adition to sneaking in candy and other treats. I understand that many physicians currently consider mesenteric lymphadenitis a nondisease and its symptoms unexplained. In your functional medicine point of view, what could be contributing to her recurring issue and what can be done from a practical standpoint to end her suffering? Jennifer: Hi Dr. Cabral, My name is Jennifer, and through divine intervention I found you. In July I had a week off of work, so I completed the Cabral 7 day detox. i have never experienced a detox before, so safe to say I had no idea what I was getting into. First off, I came to realize VERY quickly that a large part of my daily routine is thinking, planning, shopping, preparing, and eating food. When you don't eat for the first 2 days you have free time that you didn't know you would have. I came to an understanding on how time consuming food really is in our daily lives. in stating that, when day 3 arrived I was so happy to incorporate food again. The plan was so simple and easy to follow. I thought, " Im going to breeze through this" however, I was very wrong. I work in a salon with many many chemicals in my daily life. Not to mention the roller coaster of poor food choices in my life and what damage had built up from that. Prior to the detox I could work out endlessly and really not budge the scale at all. Weight has been a life long issue for me. So as day 3 went on my body became really weak and I didn't have the energy I had before when it came to my workouts. My brain was starting to reel from the detoxification happening and I actually was uncomfortable in my own skin. By day 4 I felt skittish and afraid to even talk to people. I felt so terrible that I was worried I wasn't going to make it to the end. I knew I was toxic due to a lifetime of exposure to unhealthy things, but wow! Well, day 5 came and it was like the dark cloud lifted! I felt amazing! Each day became better and better. I didn't have a starting weight but knew about where I was. When I was done I did weigh myself and I lost probably 5-7 pounds. I continued strong on your eating plan but have wavered quite a bit in the last couple months but have continued to lose weight. My body and brain feel better than they have in a very long time. I plan to do my next 7 day detox in the next month. So thank you for your research and creation of your supplements and detox. I listen to as many of your podcasts as I can. I recommend you constantly. My first question is regarding my daughter. When she was around 7 or 8 she showed me this rash on her hands and said when her hands come in contact with any form of water this is what happens. This white raised bumpy skin was between her fingers and almost looked like blisters or skin that was going to peel. Fast forward to now, she is 18, and the rash

Ep 726726: Why Food Sensitivities Make You Feel Inflamed & Swollen? (WW)
Most of us are familiar with life-threatening food allergies like having a peanut anaphylactic reaction, but being "sensitive" to certain foods goes much deeper... Did you know that the weight gain, wellness issues, or brain fog you're experiencing may be tied to "healthy" foods you're eating that unexpectedly trigger delayed immune reactions in your body? These food based reactions cause inflammation days after eating the food, which then in turn can create other more pronounced symptoms that we label as "dis-ease..." Ep 723723: Supplement Overload, Sinus Problems, Herpes & Chocolate, Arthritis, Menstrual Headaches (HouseCall)
Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks… Let's get started! Cristi: Hi Dr. Cabral, I apprecate the work you do more than you know. I ordered the daily protocol package to try with my husband and maybe kids too, but I do have other questions. Mostly, I'm wondering which supplements we're currently taking would still be necessary, and in what amounts. For example, if I want to take additional vitamin D because it's winter and we do live in a suburb of Boston as well, would I need more K2 than is included in the daily formula? Currently we take D3 with K2, and I know there is K2 in the formula, but is it enough to counterbalance extra D3? I also use collagen peptides on a daily basis as my protein in the morning. If I want to continue that, will that be too much protein in addition to the shake? The collagen peptides are listed as having 20 g of protein in two scoops, but I have also heard that this is not a complete protein. I do like the benefits of the collagen peptides and bone broth when I do not have the peptides, so I'm just wondering how to work this in to my regimen without getting excessive protein. I also take curcumin, Ashwaganda, and glucosamine condroitin. I do not think these are included in either the fruit and vegetable blend or the shake, so I believe I would continue these for joint health and stress? We also take a grapeseed extract from Pure synergy, but I see that is included in one of the blends. I'm assuming that would be redundant then? I am looking to cut down on the number of supplements we take and streamline a little bit. In addition, if we are going to do this for the whole family, it will end up costing a bit. I wish we could afford a consult or functional medicine testing right now, but we cannot. If more information is helpful, I take Synthroid for low thyroid, but I now have a very low-dose .88 MCG. My husband is on no medications, but he has untreated sleep apnea. I have many allergies, so I would like to get testing and try the allergy protocol when I can afford it. I exercise daily, and I am at a healthy weight, and my husband has recently lost quite a bit of weight, and is at a healthy weight too. He does not exercise, but he is a contractor, and his job has him moving all the time. We eat what might be called a Paleo diet, but with emphasis on vegetables, much as you recommend. I, in particular, have always tried to optimize my nutrition, and at age 43, and I am hoping to tweak a few things and figure out how to take care of my allergies without taking Claritin daily, why I get headaches, and why my digestive system seems very sensitive sometimes. For various reasons, life has been very high stress for a long time. We live in a suburb of Boston, and it is my dream to one day visit your wellness center. I am so sorry for the long question! I understand if it's too much. Thanks, Cristi Jackie: Hi Dr. Cabral, I started seeing a ND about three years ago after I attended a gym in SF. I started having symptoms of adrenal fatigue and I started noticing I wasn't digesting food well and had high cortisol levels. I took food panels, conducted blood tests, acupuncture and tried some elimination diets. All of this aided in the healing of my gut as well, I did find out I had leaky gut from my food panels. I recently visited the same gym earlier this year that had sparked some of these similar symptoms I had previously experienced. I am thinking my body is having some sort of histamine response or possibly an allergy to toxic mold. I have done more blood work, new food panels and other elimination diets as my current ND and I think it may be food and environmental. I am also wondering if it is something in my apartment. My symptoms are sinus pressure, headaches, ear pressure/wax build up, eye strain and focus, I sometimes get a little light headed or dizzy standing up, mucus, post nasal drip, my chest is tight and I have been wheezing a little bit. Some days are better than others. I wanted to get another opinion and advice on what next steps should be. Thank you! Anonymous: I am on Day 31 of the CBO and it is going great and relatively easy. Unfortunately I just got a herpes (HSV II) outbreak and I have listened to your previous podcasts on Herpes and remedies. However, the Super Lysine, I cannot take because it has garlic and I can't have the Apple Cider Vinegar because of being on the CBO. I just upped my zinc and I will add magnesium spray and meditation, etc. Fortunately, my outbreaks are mild, but they hurt my mind and soul! I had the HSV II confirmed by a blood test when I was pregnant 3 years ago. It is something that definitely has changed my intimacy with my husband (he does not fear it at all) but I know there can be asymptomatic outbreaks and it makes me paranoid. I went a year without any outbreak and now I'm getting them every c
Ep 722722: Plaque Build Up, High Blood Pressure, Contraception, Chia Seeds, Circulation (HouseCall)
Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: Donna: Dr. Cabral thank your for the excellent service you provide. I am an active 68 year old female. My only medication has been Omeprazole for GERD and Barrett's Esaphogus which my Gastro has prescribed for 15 years. Would love to get off this but haven't found a way. I completed your 2 week Detox and continue to use DNS, Digestive Enzymes and Probiotics. History of testing/lab work for 2016-2017. First my Total cholesterol has been high for about 15 years since I had a hysterectomy and went through menopause with a 12 lb weight gain - I rejected statins. February 2016 had micronutrient testing and Cardio Metobolic Test through SpectraCel. High cholesterol with dense cholesterol particles showing high risk for cardio vascular disease. August 2016 had Lifeline screening - Cholesterol total 254; but my carotid artery, peripheral arteries showed no plaque and CRP in normal range. 2017 slowly lost 12 lbs. Second Lifeline screening in October 2017 total cholesterol drops to 180; however, my carotid artery showed slight plaque and CRP moved from normal to low risk. So now I'm concerned. I continue to eat healthy and maintain my weight at 120 - I'm about 63 inches. Only other issue I can't clear up is a fungus toenail. What will reverse the plaque and dense cholesterol particles? Sorry this is so long. Would be happy to make an appointment to discuss this with one of your practitioners. Thanks so much. Donna Michael: I have high blood pressure, aside from that I am an essentially healthy 58 year old who eats a mostly whole foods plant based diet. What tests do you recommend to determine root cause? I have to admit I am a bit skeptical about hair analysis and have very short hair anyway so may not be able to get enough to analyze. I know Dr. Dennis Goodman recommends the Mg RBC to determine how much Mg is actually making it to the red blood cells. What other steps/protocols/products do you recommend to lower my BP? Should they be used without testing first? Thank you! Mel: Hi, love your work!! What are your recommendations for baby's first foods.....conventional advice is fortified cereal not real food. In addition, if breast feeding is hot possible (mum returning to work) which formula would you precribe ( dairy free?), Also what do you recommend for contreception eg following having a baby I am not sure what is the healthiest option after being on pill for 13 years and hearing mixed messages about copper IUDs. Where do you point women to get best information? Thanks for your wisdom! Melissa: I just found you thru the essential oil revolution. Love your podcast! My question is: I have always taken plant based omega3s thru chia. I also follow Dr. Stephen Gundry. He has put chia on his "do not eat" list. What are your thoughts. I am very confused. thank you! Katarina: My mom, who's in her mid-50s, was recently diagnosed with scleroderma and suffers from raynauds and arthritis. Doctors said that she has caught it early (hasn't spread to other areas - just fingers/hands) but I'm wondering if you had any tips for lessening her symptoms and inflammation? I would rather her go the natural route and halt the progression of this if possible. Thank you so much - I love your podcast! Meg: hello , is there a Canadian functional medical doctor that you recommend? with the exchange these test and one on one will get a bit too expensive...thanks for your time : ) Thank you for tuning into today's Cabral HouseCall and be sure to check back tomorrow where we answer more of our community's questions! - - - Show Notes & Resources: http://StephenCabral.com/722 - - - Get Your Question Answered: http://StephenCabral.com/askcabral
