We love talking to the best that Ohio State has to offer on this show. And we are pleased that Coach Muz joined us even after the disappointing 1-0 loss to Wisconsin in the National Championship game. I think there's something here to why she's built up this program so well. She got to the title game and played it to a one goal game, and the competitor in her is struggling to get past it. Make no mistake, she's one of the best coaches on campus and she's forced administration to handle the facility issues for her team. Congrats to Coach Muz and the entire OSU women's hockey team on their 33-6-2 season and second straight trip to the Frozen Four. It's incredible.

Another edition of Around the Block O here on our podcast feed takes us to the men's tennis program led by Ty Tucker. Let's just get it straight...these dudes are awesome. They are the No. 1 team in college tennis, and a big part of that is what they get from the money man himself, Robert Cash. He's a senior from New Albany and he loves being a Buckeye more than anything. He's a doubles specialist which is really cool when you think about how this individualized sport becomes a team aspect in the college game. I think you'll enjoy getting to know this dude and what he brings to the game, and why he loves it so much.

We've done this for a few years now either here or on our full fledged college hoops podcast (Mad About Hoops - download wherever you get your audio) and I thoroughly enjoy doing it. This isn't even so much an interview, it's Adam (Columbus Dispatch Buckeye hoops reporter) and I bouncing Buckeye hoops and CBB things off one another. We discuss the last time out against Maryland, the Bucks in late game situations, the makeup of the roster, the team's expectations and this mega month of January packed with road games. In honor of Ohio State left tackle Paris Johnson Jr. getting his degree and declaring for the 2023 NFL Draft we decided to go back to the day where he paid us a visit during the Buckeyes' bye week in October. And this one hits because we talked more about him and how he plays the position and got a good sense of his personality as a man as opposed to just hitting on the Buckeyes' season to that point. He's already got his own foundation. He's an awesome guy and an awesome player and look for him early on your 2023 NFL Draft boards.

She's a national champion, an Olympian and a fantastic person. And she told me that Josh Miller, another Ohio state shot putter, definitely understands what it means to be a Buckeye. In this edition of Around The Block O on The Buckeye Show, we are pleased to have on Sara Mason Vergote. She’s the Head Cross Country Coach and the Assistant Track & Field coach and she’s been rocking it here at OSU since 2013 with no plans to ever leave the gig, like a true Buckeye. Her teams are in between the Big Ten’s and the NCAAs at the time of our interview so work is being done. Now this interview will serve two purposes – updating us on the wonderful team’s she is coaching, as well as explaining some of the neat things about cross country and its athletes in general. We think you’ll enjoy it as it picks up at the 6:13 mark of this podcast. Evan Spencer at 6:33. Bobby Carpenter at 5:55. Dane Sanzenbacher and Tyvis Powell were some of the Buckeyes who joined us during the game broadcast. Adam King from 10TV helped us out. Near the end of the game, we were joined by current Ohio State wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
