A Snowboarding spinal Injury, life in a wheel chair, Murder Ball, ride or die love and making sure you can find the humor in all of life’s trying situations all the while staying positive. This is the story of Tim Ostler. When Tim came crashing to the flat bottom of the Half Pipe he instantly realized something was wrong, he could not move. His body was twisted, not sitting right and what he did not know was his spinal cord was partially severed. In that moment he did know he would never snowboard again. As most people would spiral into a pit of despair and depression Tim took a different approach. Life in a chair was not going to be a death sentence. Instead he was going to be positive and take each challenge as they came and deal with this head on. His high school sweet heart Kellie was by his side and with a love as strong as theirs they were going to get though this together. Tim teaches us the most important thing in life is the people you surround yourself with, from friends to family its all about your relationships. As Tim adjusts to life in a chair he see’s the love from the snowboard community at a whole new level as they rally to do everything they can to help him adjust. He fills the desire to stay active by finding a new passion in a sport called wheel chair rugby aka Murder ball. He marries the love of his life and comes to the conclusion that he is pretty damn good at life in a Chair. Tim shows us how you handle these situations in life is what shapes you and makes you who you are. Lets navigate Tim’s Bomb Holes and maybe after hearing this story re-evaluate the problems that we all face. Maybe they just aren’t that bad and maybe if we learn from Tim we can get through them and live our life's to the fullest. X Games medals, childhood fame, haters, partying, the Burton bubble, and much more. Pro Snowboarder Zak Hale was being paid to snowboard at the age of 13. Fast forward to age 18 and he has a full ride with Burton traveling the world flying first class with some of the worlds top pro snowboarders making over 6 figures. What goes up must come down, Burton made the call to let him go after being ill at a lifestyle shoot. Zak now a free agent recreates himself with a tight group of friends forming the Lick the Cat crew and then take’s control of his future himself by making his own edit called Trash. Building on the snowball of his success he wins an X-Games silver medal in 2020 for his amazing Real Snow video part. Hail Storm party’s like a rock star in the summers with the monster crew and when winter hits rip’s the streets at the top level of the game not to mention holding his own in any snowboard park with the world’s top riders. This Rider/entrepreneur talks difficult childhood, snowboarding, overcoming adversity and growing his business in his rags to riches success story. Growing up in Massachusetts he had it all, a perfect loving family living in a nice house. In the blink of an eye everything changed when at age 5 his mother was taken from him because of Leukemia. His father was devastated and turned to the bottle to numb the pain, to keep food on the table things around the house started to disappear until there was nothing left and next the house was gone. As his father numbed the pain with alcohol Chris found comfort in activity's like motocross and Snowboarding using them as a form of escape. Snowboarding connected him to people like Scotty Stevens and Chris Grenier, soon he found himself hanging at the snowboarding camps of Mount Hood Oregon pursuing the life of a sponsored snowboarder. Always in need of extra money Chris went to the camps pro sales with a box of sunglasses he had bought in bulk and painstakingly put tiny stickers on that read Dang Shades. Every week at the sale’s they would sell out and he was turning a mean profit. In an effort to sell shades year round he ran a myspace ad with a buy it now button and launched an online business. A real brand was born and Chris was selling Dang Shades direct from his website as well as to a hand picked group of Snowboard shops. Bennee went from being one of snowboardings elite street riders to an injury fueled drug addiction spiraling down to homelessness and depression only to push himself back up and rediscover not only himself but whats most important in life. His drive and amazing style on a snowboard brought contracts from major brands like Salomon, Nitro and Nike putting him in snowboarding’s spot light, just as he was at the top of his game a back injury had doctors saying he might never ride again, his only hope for a normal life was to turn to pain pills. He talks about losing long time friend J2 this past year and how he might have witnessed proof of an afterlife.
