571: Is Your Market Saturated?
Have you noticed a lot more competition for your ideal clients? If you think your market is saturated, you may be right. Over the past decade, I have noticed several entrepreneurial fields becoming crowded. Areas like marketing, consulting, and business and life coaching have grown exponentially — especially since 2020 and the Great Resignation. 569: Does Your Ideal Client Care?
What I have learned over the last decade working individually with over 1,000 women entrepreneurs, is that we all have blind spots when it comes to our businesses and we are each focusing on things that may not be moving our business forward even though it may feel like we are keeping very, very busy. My guess is that you are doing things to attempt to attract your ideal clients that they do not care about, notice or even participate in. So effectively, you're wasting your time. One of the challenges here for all of us is that often the loudest marketers, the most flashy, the ones with the best ads, they seem that they have it all together. And they're telling us that we need to do these things and they have really big budgets behind their messaging. They do that without regard to the business model you are building. My goal is to help you maximize the time you spend bringing clients into your business. In January, I created a live video for my clients in $ix Figures Lab that I want to share with you today. Afterwards, I'll circle back and give you some things you can think about as you decide what activities to keep, adjust or delete and what opportunities to say a hard yes to or a hard no. 💰 Join the waitlist for $ix Figures Lab 🎧 Subscribe to the NEW private podcast series for Marketers, Consultants and Financial Professionals 🌟 Connect with Natalie on LinkedIn 🔗 Get all the links from this episode This episode was first published at BizChix.com/569. In today's episode, Six Figures Lab coach Elizabeth Cook and I will talk about what it means to play the long game in your business. You will learn why we always ask our clients to start with the end in mind, how to reinvigorate your goals by setting specific intentions for your money, and how to create momentum with relationship marketing. 💰 Join the waitlist for $ix Figures Lab 🎧 Subscribe to the NEW private podcast series for Marketers, Consultants and Financial Professionals 🌟 Connect with Natalie on LinkedIn 🔗 Get all the links from this episode This episode was first published at BizChix.com/568. 567: A Lean Dream Team
You don't need a massive team to have a highly profitable business as a marketer, consultant or financial professional. But you do need a high performing team. What would it be like if you could give every member of your current or future team a five star rating? Can you imagine how your entire business and life would change if you had that kind of support? Your team includes anyone you pay to support you — either in your business, or in your personal life. Many of the women we work with in our group coaching program Six Figures Lab, have reached a tipping point in their service-based business, and they are ready to bring in more support in business, at home, or both. But they often get hung up on the idea that their team has to be massive or full-time. It doesn't. Elizabeth Cook, who coaches with me in Six Figures Lab, joins me to discuss building your lean dream team. You will learn how to rate your team members using one to five stars, why your goal should be five star support all around, and what to do about team members who are not performing at a five star level. 💰 Apply now to join $ix Figures Lab enrolling to start March 22 🎧 Subscribe to the NEW private podcast series for Marketers, Consultants and Financial Professionals 🌟 Connect with Natalie on LinkedIn 🔗 Get all the links from this episode This episode was first published at BizChix.com/567. 566: Working as a Fractional Role (CFO, CMO, COO)
Have you considered working in a fractional role with your clients? The most common fractional roles include fractional chief financial officer, chief marketing officer, chief operations officer and chief people officer. Some of our clients come to us already offering fractional packages. Or we help them pivot into a fractional role after joining $ix Figures Lab because it elevates their position in the marketplace and reflects the value they are creating for their clients already. In this episode, Elizabeth Cook, a coach in Six Figures Lab, and I will talk about working in a fractional role, and I'll share why I hired a CMO this year. 565: Should You Offer Discounts?
Does it ever make sense to offer a discount on your services? My stance on discounts is a solid no. But it's not quite that simple. If you're anything like some of our clients, you may get creative when it comes to discounting your services by trying to find an exception to the no discounts rule. What about you? Are you coming up with creative ways to offer a discount without calling it a discount? If so, stop right there and listen to today's episode. Elizabeth Cook, who is a coach in Six Figures Lab, and I will talk about why you should never offer discounts, even to your long-term clients. And you will learn why you don't have to offer discounts to get clients, how to respond if a client asks for a discount, and how to navigate a subcontracting arrangement that might involve lowering your rates. 💰 Apply now to join $ix Figures Lab enrolling to start March 22 🎧 Subscribe to the NEW private podcast series for Marketers, Consultants and Financial Professionals 🌟 Connect with Natalie on LinkedIn 🔗 Get all the links from this episode This episode was first published at BizChix.com/565. 564: Where Are You Hiding?
Where are you hiding in your business? Now, you might think I'm only talking about hiding from visibility opportunities, but hiding is about more than visibility. And you might think we're going to discuss procrastination because so many business owners use it to avoid making difficult decisions or taking action. Hiding in your business goes a layer deeper, and it may be harder to recognize because it appears to be productive. In today's episode, Elizabeth Cook, who is a coach in our $ix Figures Lab group coaching program, and I will talk about what it means to hide in your business and what it's costing you. 562: Boundaries in Business Series: Communication
How many of your clients have your personal cell phone number? If this method of communication works for you, that's fine. However, it quickly becomes a problem if your client has an all-access pass to your time, and you feel like you can't say no, especially to those quick texts after hours and on weekends. Maybe this communication style worked when you started your business and had only a few clients. Now, it has become overwhelming and intrusive as more and more clients have access to you. It will come as no surprise that this is a boundary issue. In today's episode, Elizabeth Cook, who coaches with me in our $ix Figures Lab Group Coaching Program, joins me to discuss how to set communication boundaries to protect your time, your team, and your business. 💰 Apply now to join $ix Figures Lab 🎧 Subscribe to the private podcast series 🌟 Connect with Natalie on LinkedIn 🔗 Get all the links from this episode This episode was first published at BizChix.com/562. 561: Boundaries in Business Series: Team
It could be where they work, their working hours, their communication style, lack of attention to detail or how they present themselves to your clients. Sometimes we let team members go without giving them a chance to make changes and perhaps as leaders we have not clearly communicated and set boundaries. In today's episode, I'm joined by Elizabeth Cook, who coaches with me in our $ix Figures Lab Group Coaching Program. We discuss common themes that show up with our clients and how to recognize boundary issues with your team. 559: [success] Saying No, So You Can Say Yes with Consultant Dr. Charlotte Huntley
How do you go from juggling multiple offers to focusing on what's most profitable and aligned in your business? The truth is, many business owners experiment with different revenue streams, such as online courses, digital products, group coaching offers, and done-for-you services. But most entrepreneurs quickly find that their energy is spread too thin. And, when your offers are scattered, your revenue is scattered too. I have seen this pattern with many of my clients, including Dr. Charlotte Huntley who is an Epidemiologist, Public Health Entrepreneur, Consultant, and CEO. Charlotte works to bridge the gap between public health and entrepreneurship by supporting public health entrepreneurs and health-focused industry leaders. She is also the host of the Public Health Epidemiology Conversations Podcast. She took the leap from employee to full-time business owner right before the pandemic began, after landing a large consulting project. For Charlotte, the timing brought both opportunity and an avalanche. Since Epidemiologists collect and analyze data to investigate health issues, including new viruses, Charlotte was immediately inundated with requests from people all over the world. She knew she needed guidance, support, and a community to establish and grow her business. That's when she discovered $ix Figures Lab, our group coaching program where we help our clients position themselves in the marketplace, so they are attracting their highest level work and serving their dream clients. Do you know exactly what to focus on every day to grow your business? Not knowing which actions will actually move the needle in your business is one of the biggest challenges facing entrepreneurs today. And that is a recipe not only for burnout, but also for a slow growing business. In today's episode, I want to re-introduce you to the Pareto Principle, also known as the 80/20 Rule, which states that 80 percent of your results come from 20 percent of your efforts. Are you running your business from a state of overwhelm? If so, you will struggle to achieve your goals. How do I know? 550: Prioritize Conversations Over Content
What if one simple shift in your priorities could decrease your workload and increase your revenue? The simple shift is prioritizing conversations over content. This might surprise you because as entrepreneurs, we are told to produce tons of free content in multiple forms for multiple platforms. Frankly, churning out content for your business can be exhausting. But the real problem is not the amount of time and energy it takes. The real problem is the lost opportunity to have real conversations. Just one conversation is much more likely to result in referrals, clients, and revenue than publishing one hundred pieces of content. In today's episode, Elizabeth Cook, who is the accountability coach in $ix Figures Lab, and I will talk about the content-heavy business model, why it may not work for your business, and why posting content should not be your go-to strategy for getting clients. 💰 Apply now to join $ix Figures Lab for a January 2023 start 🌟 Connect with Natalie on LinkedIn 🔗 Get all the links from this episode This episode was first published at BizChix.com/550. We see this often with the women entrepreneurs in our community. And I even hear some version of it when women debate whether or not to join us for our group coaching program, $ix Figures Lab. Many women tell me they feel guilty about making a new investment because their last one did not pan out. I understand why they feel this way. After all, no one wants to waste money.
