S1 Ep 82E82 S1 BH Bama loss to OK Further Review Bama Hoops Purdue Further Review
Brent Venables owns Kalen DeBoer. Alabama has an Oklahoma problem just like Georgia has an Alabama problem. Oklahoma puts Bama on the verge of being out of the playoffs. Just keeping winning, but no margin for error now. Bama’s home win streak is over. Bama now has no margin for error. Must win its next two games to make the playoffs including winning at Auburn. Bama in playoff mode now until Alabama loses a game or wins the natty. Every game is an elimination game. Oklahoma’s defense and special team beat Alabama. Not a dual threat QB, not an elite offense. Previously when Bama lost a home game, it was because of a dual threat QB and an elite offense, not defense and special teams. The Kick six was the last team special teams specifically beat Bama. Upon Further review Bama hoops loss to Purdue 87-80 Now let’s review the other tough loss Bama suffered last week in Hoops against Purdue 87-80. Tough loss. Game was tied 80-80 with 1.36 to go on Mallette 3. Then Braden Smith showed his brilliance and control to make the plays to secure the win. Scored two out of pick and roll on TBB to go up 2. Then Philon missed front end of 1&1. Smith does pick and roll again and gets TBB to foul him. Makes 2 FT’s to go up 84-80 with 47 secs left. TBB misses a 3 and then with 33 secs left and Purdue closes out Bama 87-80 as Bama fails to score in crunch time. Holloway led Bama with 21 pts 3 assts and 1 TO TBB has 13 pts but only 2 rebs Sherrell has 12 and 4 rebs Philon had 11 pts, 4 rebs, 7 assts, 3 steals, but 4 TO’s – Philon had a bad game scoring wise and TO-wise. Mallette had 9 pts and 2 rebs Wrightsell also had a bad game scoring only 6 pts and shot 2/9. Purdue outrebounded Bama 48 to 23 and made 16/23 FT’s and Bama was only 8/10 from FT Pts in Paint goes to Purdue 34 to 26 and made FT’s Purdue 16 to 8 and Rebs 48 to 23. And that was the difference! In crunch time, Purdue executed in the half court and was able to score key buckets in the midrange. Bama came up small, but had their chances to win since it was tied at 80 all with 1.30 left. Bama didn’t defend well at the end of the game and was also down by 79-81 with 5 mins to go. Credit to Bama for going on 9-1 run to tie the game at 80 all, but the Purdue made all the plays after that to win 87-80. Braden Smith led Purdue with 29 pts, 7 rebs, 4 assists as he dominated in the 2nd half T Kaufman-Renn had 19 pts, 15 rebs and 5 assists Cluff had 9 pts and 11 rebs Dan Jacobsen had 9 pts and 5 rebs Issues Out of bounds plays Rebounding – all five players must commit to defensive rebounding by blocking out a man on every possession and on every shot taken – Bama must do a much better job of blocking out before trying to secure the ball on every rebound. Stagnant offense in the half court at crunch time Offense was very fluid and crisp much of the game vs St Johns – not the case vs Purdue Failure to score easily in the midrange when needed or for bigs to score in the post Failure to force Braden Smith left Failure to use various defensive alignments Rick Barnes is a master defensive coach who will use diamond and one, triangle and two, various zone looks, half court press or full court press. Next up for Bama against Illinois in Chicago on Wed, Nov 19.

S1 Ep 81E81 S1 BH Alabama Loss to OK 23 21 Instant Reaction
Alabama lost to Oklahoma at home today 23 21 in a tough loss that puts Alabama on the brink of being eliminated from the playoffs. Alabama has lost all its margin for error for the season. Bama must win its last two games including winning on the road at Auburn to make the playoffs. Alabama always struggles to win at Auburn and given what happened tonight in the loss to Auburn, I am doubtful of this team to go to Auburn and win, but win they must if they want to go to the playoffs. Brent Venables owns Kalen DeBoer. Bama’s home win streak is over. Bama now has no margin for error. Must win its next two games to make the playoffs including winning at Auburn. Oklahoma’s defense and special team beat Alabama. Alabama’s offense was not clutch when it needed to be and Bama’s special teams were bad. Alabama could not handle the Oklahoma blitz’s as Oklahoma was able to pressure Ty relentlessly and ultimately stop Bama’s last drive of the game. Bama’s special teams let Bama down by allowing a long punt return to set up a short field for OK that led to a FG. Ryan Williams fumbled a punt on a punt return that gave OK a short field that led to a John Mateer TD run. And Connor Talty missed Bama’s only FG attempt from 36 yds as Bama tried to tie the game going into halftime, but missed it as OK led at half 17-14. And Ty Simpson threw a pick Six on an up the middle blitz that gave OK its first TD of the game. Bama’s defense only allowed OK to score one TD and held OK to 3 FG’s. OK shut out Alabama in the 4th quarter. Bama outgained Ok 406 to 212 in total offense Bama out rushed OK 80 to 74 as Daniel Hill scored two TD’s Ty Simpson threw for 326 yds and 1 TD, but also threw a pick six. Ty was 28 of 42 and was sacked 4 times and under pressure a lot particularly in the 4th quarter. Bama turned the ball over 3 times, 1 int pick six, 1 fumble by Ty on a blitz, and 1 fumble by Ryan on punt return. Bama 3 to OK zero on TO’s 3 Turnovers by Bama and 3 made FG’s by OK and 1 missed FG by Bama led to Bama’s loss. Bama won Time of Poss 34 to 26 Bama won penalties 2-25 to OK 5-37 Bama struggled to beat SC and LSU, and struggled and lost to OK. This team playing this way cannot win a natty. The recipe to beat Bama is to blitz Ty over and over again. And Venables is the master of the blitz. Bama has its back against the wall. How will they respond in the next two games and particularly at Auburn.

S1 Ep 79E79 S1 BH Bama OK Football Preview a Purdue Hoops Preview
The #4 Alabama Crimson Tide (8-1, 6-0 SEC) will host the #11 Oklahoma Sooners (7-2, 5-2 SEC) on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The game, which serves as Alabama's homecoming, is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET and will be televised on ABC. Alabama overview • Alabama enters the game with an 8-1 record and leads the SEC at 6-0. • The Tide has been on a winning streak since their season-opening loss to Florida State. • The offense, led by quarterback Ty Simpson, has been effective, averaging 32.8 points per game, though it has sometimes struggled with consistency. • The defense has been a strength, allowing only 17.2 points per game. Oklahoma overview • Oklahoma, in its second season in the SEC, holds a 7-2 record and is 5-2 in conference play. • The Sooners are led by quarterback John Mateer and have been a surprise contender in the conference. • The Oklahoma defense is among the best in the SEC, giving up only 14.1 points per game. • The Sooners' strength lies in their ability to generate sacks and pressure the quarterback, which could challenge Alabama's pass protection. Matchup highlights • The game is a rematch of last season's contest, where Oklahoma defeated Alabama 24-3. • Both teams feature strong defenses, suggesting a lower-scoring affair. • The game could be a potential preview of the SEC Championship and has significant playoff implications • Stakes: Alabama is pushing for a playoff berth and needs this win to solidify its position. Oklahoma, while improved, needs a big road win to boost their credentials. Key Matchup to Watch • Oklahoma’s designed QB-run game + zone-read runs vs. Alabama’s ability to stop the run and edge pressure. • Secondary battle: Alabama’s pass-defense strength vs Oklahoma’s mix of short passing, screens and attempts downfield. If Oklahoma can’t get the passing game going, their offense might stall. • Quick Summary Table• Player Role Why Key • John Mateer QB Drives offense & passing attack • Jaydn Ott RB Veteran running back / balance • Tory Blaylock RB (Emerging) Depth & explosive playmaker • Isaiah Sategna III WR Receiving threat in pass game • David Stone DL Anchors defense up front • Robert Spears-Jennings Safety / DB Veteran in secondary • Oklahoma more productive and efficient rushing team in 2025 — averaging ~51 more rushing yards per game and 1.2 yards more per carry than Alabama. • John Mateer’s dual-threat ability (300+ rush yds, 6 TDs) adds a key dimension that Alabama’s Ty Simpson doesn’t replicate. Turnovers -- Takeaways vs Giveaways Predictions for the game - who wins and the score? Hoops preview for Purdue Game 1. Respect & Rankings on the Line So this is more than just one game — it’s an early-season statement opportunity for both. 2. Purdue’s Defensive Concerns -- For Purdue guard Fletcher Loyer, the recent win didn’t satisfy him: “If we’re supposed to be #1… we’ve got to be better on defense.” If Purdue is going to defend its ranking, stopping Alabama’s offense will be a big test. 3. Alabama’s Offensive Firepower & Home Advantage Alabama not only has momentum but has shown it can score in bunches (103-96 vs St. John’s) which signals they’re ready for a major test. Playing at home gives them an added boost. 4. Critical Matchup Elements • Pace & Execution: Alabama’s ability to push pace and score may challenge Purdue’s structure. • Rebounding & Size vs. Perimeter Shooting: Purdue traditionally uses size, structure and efficiency; Alabama might look to exploit transition and perimeter opportunities. • Mental Toughness: Early in season, road games at ranked opponents test a team’s readiness. Purdue is on the road; Alabama at home with something to prove.

S1 Ep 78E78 S1 BH Alabama LSU win and Bama St Johns Hoops win Upon Further Review
Takes on the game: Bama still in control of its own playoff destiny. 6-0 in the SEC and 8-1 overall. Not Bama’s best game offensively, but Bama won 20-9. Ty was off on his passes, but still engineered two good scoring drive in the second quarter. And the last drive of the first half to make the score 17-3 going into the half ended up being all Bama needed to win. Bama’s offense was bad in the first quarter and in the whole 2nd half. Ty was off for most of the game, except for two drives in the 2nd Quarter On a shot play, Ty underthrew Brooks on a pass that was probably PI on LSU, but not called. Had Ty hit Brooks in Stride, he would have scored. And then the very next play, Bama takes another deep shot and Ty barely overthrows Germ on what would have been another score. Indicative of Ty’s night as he was just a bit off. And yet his passing numbers were good while the running game was pathetic. Running game was bad and not productive. Example of offensive ineptness and inability to run the ball. 1st drive of game: Bama drive stalls as Bama has the ball on the LSU 41 yd line 2nd and 3. Bama runs the ball three times including on 4th and 1 and cannot get the first down and turns the ball over on downs. LSU then moves the ball into FG range, but misses the 30 yd FG. Defense was very good. Defense was really good as we had LSU to 9 pts and 3 FG’s, but again it was bend, but don’t break. LSU moved the ball and won time of possession, but Bama won turnover battle, and LSU committed a lot of penalties to hurt their drive. LSU also missed a FG and could not finish any drive with a TD. Bama forced two turnovers and could have had at least one more Interception and missed recovering a forced fumble early in the game. Defense: • The defense held LSU to just 9 points on three field goals—bend-but-don’t-break football. • LSU moved the ball at times and won time of possession, but Alabama won the turnover battle (2–1) and limited LSU’s ground game (59 rushing yds, 2.3 yds/carry). • LSU was 5–14 on third down, committed 10 penalties for 74 yards, and missed a 30-yard FG early. The LSU-Alabama game on November 8, 2025, with No. 4 Alabama looking to continue its push for the College Football Playoff and LSU playing under interim head coach Frank Wilson. The game will be played at 6:30 p.m. CT on ABC. LSU (5-3, 2-3 SEC) • Despite a talented defense, LSU has given up significant points in recent weeks and faces a challenging matchup against Alabama's potent offense. • Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier is seen as a key player for the LSU offense. Alabama (7-1, 5-0 SEC) • Crimson Tide favored in game, with ESPN's FPI giving Bama 80.9% chance to win. • Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson is considered a Heisman Trophy candidate. • Bama's offense has been one of the best in the country after a rocky start to the season. LSU has the opportunity to exploit Alabama's defensive edge setting issues that have been seen earlier in the season. LSU's offense has struggled under interim offensive coordinator Alex Atkins and is without fired coach Brian Kelly. - LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier is capable of making big plays but has been inconsistent. - LSU has the potential for explosive plays but has been hampered by turnovers and poor offensive line play. Can LSU's offense find rhythm and protect the quarterback long enough to make plays, or will Alabama's defense create turnovers and stifle the Tiger attack? - LSU is led by interim head coach Frank Wilson following the firing of Brian Kelly. - Wilson is a veteran coach and will be looking to energize his team in the wake of the firing. Can Wilson and his staff devise a SCheme to slow down Alabama's potent offense and give LSU a chance to win? LSU Coaches HC - Frank Wilson (Interim Head Coach): Wilson was promoted from his role as associate head coach and running backs coach after Brian Kelly was fired on October 26, 2025. OC - Alex Atkins (Interim Offensive Coordinator): Atkins was named interim offensive coordinator after Joe Sloan was fired a day after head coach Brian Kelly was dismissed. Before being promoted, Atkins served as the team's run game coordinator and tight ends coach. DC - Blake Baker (Defensive Coordinator): Baker is in his second season as LSU's defensive coordinator. He previously held the same role at Missouri before returning to LSU in 2024. Harold Perkins Jr. - opting out of remainder of season to prepare for NFL Draft. -- Predictions for the game - who wins and the score? CFP Rankings as of Nov 4th -- AP Top 25 as of Nov 2nd Hoops takeaways after the first game-- Issues -- Out-of-bounds plays – struggled on several occasions to inbound the ball -- Turnovers - Alabama did commit 15 TO’s while dishing out 22 assists. Interior scoring by the bigs – Williamson, Onyejiaka, and TBB struggled -- Shot-blocking by the bigs – Sherrill blocked 4 shots, but who else? -- TTB didn’t play well as he turned the ball over and struggled to score other than getting to the FT line and hitting FT’s. Not sure what Bama will get out of Wrightsell or Bethea this year. Need to see them on the floor playing for a few games before we will know. Concerned Wrightsell may not be fully recovered and have his full athleticism back. No timetable for Bethea to return and be available to play. Positives -- LaBaron Philon is the team leader and poised for a great season – scored 22 points, dished out 8 assists, but had 4 TO’s Sherrill looked strong in the middle as a rebounder and defensive presence The three amigos freshman all look solid – Amari Allen, Davion Hannah, and London Jemison - Freshmen Amari Allen and London Jemison each scored 12 pts as Allen also pulled down 7 rebounds and Fellow freshman Davion Hannah had 9 points as the 3 freshman all played over 20 minutes and contributed to the win.-- Houston Mallette looked strong with 15 pts and 8 rebounds, but had two TO’s -- Holloway will be a key player offensively for Bama as I expect him and Philon to lead Bama in scoring Alabama is long and athletic as a team -- Alabama hit 78% of their Free Throws in the game.

Freshmen Amari Allen and London Jemison each scored 12 pts as Allen also pulled down 7 rebounds and Fellow freshman Davion Hannah had 9 points as the 3 freshman all played over 20 minutes and contributed to the win. Aiden Sherrell has 9 pts, 4 rbs, and 4 blocks and TBB had 8 pts, 3 rebs, and 1 block to round out the scoring. Alabama has led at half 48 to 32 and stretched the lead in the 2nd half to win by 29. Alabama did commit 15 TO’s while dishing out 22 assists. Philon scored or assisted on 32 of Alabama’s 48 first-half points, more than making up for the Crimson Tide's short-handed bench. Bama was down 4 of its best players. guards Aden Holloway (wrist) and Latrell Wrightsell (Achilles) and transfer forward Keitenn Bristow (ankle) all did not play. And Transfer guard Jalil Bethea, who injured his foot during practice in September, is still out trying to get healthy. Despite missing these four players, Bama rolled because of its depth and because of the ability of the three freshman to step up and play effectively. Those absences allowed true freshman Amari Allen and transfer Taylor Bol Bowen to start. Allen finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals. The Tide broke open a close game with a 19-5 run midway through the first half with Philon leading the way putting up 15 pts in the first half and clearly standing out as the best player on the court. Philon was effective, hitting 6 of 7 shots and assisting on five of his teammates in the first half as he stood out as the best Bama player in the first half. The Crimson Tide's lead never dipped below double digits after its initial run. Turnovers remain a problem for Alabama as Alabama had 15 turnovers and was particularly sloppy with the ball in the 2nd half. This Bama team is long and athletic. Ep 74E74 S1 BH Bama Instant Reaction win 91 62 over ND State
E74 S1 BH Bama Instant Reaction win 91 62 over ND StateLabaron Philon Jr. Led the way with 22 points (had 15 in the first half) and eight assists, Houston Mallette had 15 points and 8 rebounds as No. 15 Alabama rolled to a 91-62 victory over North Dakota on Monday night. They can shoot the ball and score quickly. We will find out more about this team when they play better competition in upcoming games. Up next- Bama goes to the Big Apple to play St. John’s coached by the legend Rick Pitino in Madison Square Garden on Saturday at 11 am CT. Great warm-up prior to the Alabama LSU game Saturday night. S1 Ep 73E73 S1 BH Bama Bye Week Football Season Review So Far and Bama Hoops outlook
In this episode, we will review how the Bama Football season is going so far – BTW going great! We will talk about the stars of the season so far, the standout’s, noteables, and concerns. We will also provide our outlook and predictions for the rest of the season. And after talking football, we will do a look at the Bama hoops teams as the season officially starts on Monday. Record & Results to Date• Record so far: 7-1 overall, 5-0 in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). So Alabama has recovered nicely from the early loss and is undefeated in conference play so far.• After the tough opener, the Tide have reeled off seven straight wins, showing resilience. • Strong showings SEC: wins over Georgia, Vandy, Tennessee, Missouri, & South Carolina • Offense has had some big games: Scoring 34 pts per game & 31 per game as mean. • Defense, at times, stepped up in big moments — for example in the South Carolina game, they forced a key late fumble that flipped the script. Bend, but don’t Break._ Areas of Concern / What to Watch Getting gashed on big, explosive plays and poor schemes. That leaves less margin for error going forward. But still finding ways to win on the road. • Home vs LSU Home vs Oklahoma Home vs N. Illinois At Auburn Ty Simpson Stats – Heisman Worthy – Leader of team and Star Completions / Attempts: 177 / 261 (67.8%) Passing yards: 2,184 (avg 273.0 passing yards/game) Passing TDs / INTs: 20 TDs, 1 INT Yds per attempt: 8.37 14 Sacks -- too many Rushing: 51 attempts, 79 yards, 2 rushing TDs (avg 9.9 rushing yards/game). Total offense: 2,263 yards (pass + rush) on 312 plays → ~7.25 yards/play. Ty Simpson is the Star and leader of the Team. The story for Bama so far is Ty Simpson leading this team. And he will be the reason Bama makes the playoffs, wins the SEC, and wins the natty. All on his shoulders. Jam Miller and Daniel Hill are the top two RB’s. Been effective as all-purpose RB’s, but not stand-outs as pure runners. Germie Bernard is the WR 1. This group is talented with Ryan Williams, Zah Horton, Lotzeir Brooks, and Rick Scott all contributing and have success and making big plays. Josh Cuevas is a standout as tight-end and is having a great season. 11 players have made significant contributions in the passing game. For the O-line, Brailsford is the only one playing at an A level in and game out. Proctor – good, not great. The others are up and down. 14 Sacks -- too many sacks occurring and usually from poor O-line play Ty Simpson’s ability to scramble and run and make plays under pressure has bailed out the O-line this year. Defense - Bend, but don’t break. Getting key turnovers in the redzone or in key moments. Other than shut off vs ULM, Bama defense has given up the following points in the other 7 games. 31, 14, 21, 14, 24, 20, and 22 Highest number of points allowed – 31 to FSU Lowest number of points allowed – 14 twice to Vandy and Wisconsin Mean is 20, 21, 22, 24 – so Bama typically gives up 22 points per game Bama Hoops outlook and preview Starting Five – who will it be? LaBaron Philon Aden Holloway Either Latrell Wrightsell or Houston Mallette Either Taylor Bol Bowen or Keitenn Bristow Aiden Sherrill Others Jalil Bethea when he returns from injury Noah Williamson Amari Allen Davion Hannah London Jemison Collins Onyijiaka Strengths Shooting in general – shoot 35% from 3 in both pre-season games Free throw shooting – shot 71% vs FSU, 73% vs Furman More length and athleticism Depth Nate Oates as coach Concerns Turnovers – 15 TO’s vs FSU and 15 vs Furman – Philon and Holloway need to do better, need a better assist to turnover ratio from both of them. Shot-blocking Team chemistry Defense in general Defensive rebounding – outrebounded 46 to 41 vs FSU New faces on the team Tough out of conference schedule SEC should be the best conference again this year with many good teams Given Nate’s track record, we should be a good team and a top six seed in the NCCA tournament.

S1 Ep 72E72 S1 BH Bama SC Will K Reaction to win over South Carolina 29 to 22
In this episode, we will get Will K’s reaction to Bama’s wild win over SC 29-22 in Columbia, SC on the road as they essentially steal one on the road after being outplayed for much of the game. Bama is now on a 7-game winning streak and 5-0 in the SEC and 7-1 on the season. Bama gets outplayed by South Carolina for most of the game, yet makes the big plays when needed and finds a way to win. Wild swings in the game. Bama still in control of its own playoff Destiny. 7-1 overall and 5-0 in the On Saturday, October 25, 2025, No. 4 Alabama came back from an 8-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat South Carolina on the road 29–22. Felt like Bama stole one. For me, the game was a miserable watch for most of the game until the last 10 minutes of the game when Bama woke up and scored two TD’s to win the game and also forced the strip fumble to allow Bama to score the game winning TD. Season outlook • The comeback victory extended Alabama's winning streak to seven games and improved their record to 7-1 (5-0 SEC). Alabama's final offensive drive began with just under two minutes left on the clock after a crucial turnover by South Carolina. The Crimson Tide, tied 22–22, ultimately scored the game-winning touchdown with 34 seconds remaining. In the fourth quarter of No. 4 Alabama's 29–22 road victory over South Carolina on October 25, 2025, the Crimson Tide rallied from an eight-point deficit with 15 points in the final 2:16 to stun the Gamecocks. Key events in the 4th quarter • South Carolina extends lead: South Carolina took a 22–14 lead early in the quarter after recovering a muffed punt and capitalizing with a touchdown run by quarterback LaNorris Sellers. • Alabama ties the game: On the ensuing drive, Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson capped a 14-play, 79-yard drive with a 4-yard touchdown pass to Germie Bernard. The Crimson Tide then tied the game 22–22 with a successful trick-play two-point conversion pass to Josh Cuevas. • Crucial turnover: With under two minutes left, Alabama linebacker Deontae Lawson forced a fumble on Sellers, which was recovered by nose tackle Tim Keenan Jr. near midfield.• Game-winning touchdown: On 3rd and 10 from the South Carolina 25, Bernard scored the game-winning touchdown on a 25-yard run out of the wildcat formation with 34 seconds remaining.• Defensive stop: Alabama's defense sealed the victory with a sack on South Carolina's final possession. • Game-winning touchdown: Wide receiver Germie Bernard took a direct snap in the wildcat formation, faked a pitch, and ran 25 yards down the right sideline for the game-winning touchdown. • Game-ending sack: On South Carolina's final possession, Alabama's defense quickly closed out the game, with Keon Keeley sacking Sellers to end the threat Offense not clicking for first three quarters – worst offensive showing by Bama of the season and very ineffective until the last 10 minutes of the game when Bama puts 15 points on the board to win the game. Bama 3 and out’s -- Bama punted 5 times in this game and turned the ball over on down one time, so 6 empty possessions that ended on punts or a turnover on down and also had two turnovers with a sack fumble by Ty and a muffed punt fumble.Bama had five 3 and outs in this game that ended in Bama punting – most all-season SC only punted 4 times in the whole game. Had four drives end in FG kicks and made 3 of 4 FG’s. SC missed a FG and also gave up a pick six for a TD and fumbled late in 4th quarter to give Bama ball in SC territory that led to winning score 2. Still in Control: At 7–1 overall and 5–0 in the SEC, Bama remains in full control of its playoff destiny and path to the SEC Championship Game.

S1 Ep 70E70 S1 BH Bama SC Preview Final Thoughts on Win over TN
E70 S1 BH Bama SC Preview Final Thoughts on Win over TNBama still in control of its own playoff Destiny. 6-1 overall and 4-0 in the SEC -- Where are we now? Bama in control of its own destiny On track to win SEC regular season and qualify for the SEC championship game -- What is next? Heisman Candidate – Ty Simpson 1. Alabama Controls Its Own Destiny Alabama sits at 6-1 (4-0 SEC) and is in full control of its path to the SEC Championship Game. A win in Columbia would keep the Tide firmly on track for an SEC title berth and potential playoff contention. 2. One of the Hottest Teams in the Nation The Tide rolls into Week 9 with a six-game winning streak, fresh off a 37–20 victory over #11 Tennessee — one of the most complete performances of the Kalen DeBoer era. 3. Ty Simpson Emerging as a Legitimate Heisman Candidate Quarterback Ty Simpson has been stellar: • 70.2% completions, 1,931 passing yards, 18 TDs, only 1 INT. His efficiency and poise have vaulted him into the Heisman conversation, especially if Alabama keeps winning. 4. Trap Game Alert: Don’t Sleep on South Carolina Despite being a heavy favorite (–13.5), Alabama must avoid complacency. The Gamecocks upset a #1-ranked Tide in 2010, and this matchup has the potential for a trap game, especially on the road in Columbia. Mike Shula should look at how Vanderbilt and Oklahoma beat Bama last year and follow that game plan for South Carolina. Bama needs to be focused and locked-in to avoid a let down and avoid the upset. South Carolina is a desperate team fighting to salvage its season that has been very disappointing so far. 5. Battle of Dual-Threat QBs It’s a showdown between Ty Simpson and LaNorris Sellers, both dual-threat quarterbacks. Sellers gave Bama fits last year in Tuscaloosa — a narrow Alabama win — and he’s capable of big plays despite South Carolina’s offensive woes. LaNorris Sellers is a true dual threat QB and could give Bama fits like other dual threat QB’s have in the past. He is bigger, stronger, and faster than all the QB’s Bama has faced this year. 6. South Carolina’s Offensive Struggles Are Real The Gamecocks’ offense ranks among the nation’s worst: • 20.1 PPG (115th nationally) • 297.7 YPG (129th) • 33% on 3rd downs (121st) Despite talented pieces like Sellers, Rahsul Faison, and Nyck Harbor, execution and offensive line play have been major issues. 7. Strength vs. Weakness Matchup Alabama’s elite defense (allowing just 17.7 PPG, 22nd nationally) faces a South Carolina offense that’s averaging less than 300 yards per game. On paper, it’s a major mismatch — particularly Alabama’s #10-ranked pass defense against Sellers’ struggling passing attack. But South Carolina could gash Bama in the run game using Sellers as a running QB and as a scrambling QB in the passing game. 🩹 8. South Carolina’s Injuries and Suspensions Pile Up The Gamecocks’ offensive line is banged up — multiple starters (Henry, Sharpe, Baugh) missed time vs. Oklahoma. Key defender Dylan Stewart is questionable with a hip injury. That depth concern could be exposed against Alabama’s physical front. ⚙️ 9. Mike Shula’s Offense Under Fire in Columbia South Carolina’s offensive coordinator Mike Shula has become a lightning rod for criticism as the unit ranks 127th in total offense. Penalties and poor execution have crippled drives, adding pressure on head coach Shane Beamer to “fix it.” 🏟️ 10. The Focus: No Oklahoma Letdown Repeat Alabama cannot afford a repeat of the 2024 Oklahoma letdown, when the Tide were upset in November. DeBoer’s message this week: Handle business, avoid distractions, and finish strong heading into the championship push. labama carries a six-game winning streak into the matchup, while South Carolina has lost four of its last five games. The game will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, October 25, in Columbia, S.C.

Bama will be favored in every game left. But Bama must show up prepared and ready to play each week if they want to make playoffs.Bama - Keep Stacking wins Even though TN lost this game, given their remaining schedule, 10-2 is very doable for Tennessee. Bama on track to make the playoffs, but have to Recap -- Zabien Brown returned an interception 99 yards for a touchdown as time expired in the first half and No. 6 Alabama rolled to a 37-20 victory over No. 11 Tennessee in the rivalry known as the “Third Saturday in October.” Brown's pick gave the Tide a 23-7 lead and was all Alabama's defense needed while turning in its best performance of the season. The Tide (6-1, 4-0 Southeastern Conference) held the nation's highest-scoring offense to just 410 yards, well below its 529-yard average. Ty Simpson completed 19 of 29 passes for 253 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. He led two TD drives of 90-plus yards as the Crimson Tide won their sixth consecutive game, including four in a row against ranked opponents. For Tennessee (5-2, 2-2), Joey Aguilar completed 28 of 44 passes for 268 yards, with a touchdown and an interception. DeSean Bishop ran for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Alabama’s win, coupled with losses by No. 5 Ole Miss to No. 9 Georgia, should propel the Tide into the top five in the next AP Poll. The takeaway: Tennessee: The Volunteers' loss featured a number of uncharacteristic statistics. They failed to score 30 points for the first time this season, and a defense that led the SEC in sacks didn't record one. Alabama: The Crimson Tide have arguably the best collection of wins in college football with four wins over ranked teams. S1 Ep 56E56 S1 BH Bama win over Georgia Upon Further Review Highs Lows Good Bad and Ugly
E56 BH Bama win over Georgia Upon Further Review Highs Lows Good Bad and Ugly In this episode, we will look at to the Bama win over Georgia again in our Upon Further review and get into the ends and outs of the huge Bama road win at GA. Any win on the road in the SEC is a great win and winning at GA is glorious! Alabama (#17) secured a hard-fought 24-21 victory over #5 Georgia snapping Georgia's 33-game home winning streak dating back to 2019. The Crimson Tide started strong, scoring all 24 of their points in the first half. Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson delivered a strong performance, completing 24 of 38 passes for 276 yards and two touchdowns, while also adding a rushing touchdown. In the second half, Alabama's defense stifled Georgia, holding them scoreless after halftime. A pivotal play occurred in the fourth quarter when Alabama defensive lineman LT Overton stuffed Georgia running back Cash Jones on a fourth-and-1 near the goal line, preventing a potential game-tying or go-ahead score. Alabama's offense proved efficient on third down, converting 12 of 19 attempts, while Georgia managed only two conversions on eight tries. Alabama's resilience, particularly after a season-opening loss to Florida State, impressed observers, marking the biggest win of the Kalen DeBoer era and sparking celebration among fans. Alabama maintained possession for the final 3 minutes, 19 seconds, ultimately securing the victory. Area of Performance Grade Notes Overall A- A significant road win against a top-5 opponent, ending Georgia's impressive home winning streak. Demonstrated resilience after a Week 1 loss to Florida State. Secured a crucial SEC victory and potentially boosted College Football Playoff odds. Offense B+ Defense B Special Teams B- Missed makeable 43 yd FG in 2nd half badly. The Good Ty Simpson Bama 1st Half offense Two great clock-eating drives at the beginning of the game to put up 14 points Great end of 1st half 2-minute drive to score TD at end of half to go up 24-14. Great end of game drive to run out the clock Passing Game Bama 3rd down defense Bama 3rd down offense No Turnovers Few penalties 4 for 16 for Bama vs 6 for 68 for GA – and fewer than GA Didn’t give up on the run and made key runs at end of game to run out the clock 50/50 run pass mix on offense The Bad Bama run game – not very effective Bama run defense – gave up 227 yds rushing Too many shot pass plays on offense in second half when short and intermediate passing game was effective all game long. Bama is at its best when it uses the short and intermediate passing game to keep the chains moving and when it uses a mix of runs and the pass. The Ugly Blown coverage on Colbie Young TD pass in 1st half with bama up 14-0 – way too aggressive and left Domani Jackson on an island. Losing containment on defense too much – on key 4th and one, no containment on that play. Just luck LT Overton burst through the line and made shoe-string tackle to keep Jones from getting the first down and probably scoring Gave up big play on reverse that led to GA TD – never established containment on the play Missed 43 yd FG badly in 3rd Quarter when points could have helped Due to poor defensive alignments and schemes and failure to set the edge, Bama gives up too many long, explosive plays in both the run game and passing game. Defense still giving up too many explosive plays due to schemes, misalignments, not setting the edge for containment, and Jackson getting beat deep on the long TD pass. Also got beat deep on another long pass, but GA player dropped a sure TD. It's the second time in four games that Alabama has allowed over 200 yards on the ground. For the season, the Crimson Tide now ranks 75th in the country in rushing yards allowed per game at a jarring 160.5 yards on average.

S1 Ep 55E55 S1 Instant Reaction to Bama win over Georgia 20250928
E55 Instant Reaction to Bama win over Georgia GA Bama Stats Alabama (3-1, 1-0 SEC) defeated Georgia (3-1, 1-1 SEC) in a close contest with a final score of 24-21 in Athens on September 27, 2025. This win marks the 10th time Alabama has beaten Georgia in their last 11 matchups and ends the Bulldogs' 33-game home winning streak, which dated back to 2019. Here's a recap of the game: • Alabama started strong with two long drives, including a touchdown pass from Ty Simpson to Germie Bernard, converting seven straight third-down attempts. The Crimson Tide built a 24-14 halftime lead, with Simpson accounting for two touchdowns (one passing, one rushing). Georgia's offense came alive in the second quarter, with Gunner Stockton throwing a 38-yard touchdown pass to Colbie Young and Chauncey Bowens adding a 2-yard touchdown run. • In the second half, Alabama's offense stalled, and Georgia capitalized, scoring a touchdown to narrow the lead to 24-21 after a missed Alabama field goal and a big run by Dillon Bell. Georgia also gained 227 yards on the ground, with Chauncey Bowens rushing for 119 yards. Alabama's defensive lineman James Smith was ejected for targeting. Despite their offensive struggles in the second half, the Alabama defense held strong, including stopping Georgia on fourth down deep in Crimson Tide territory with 13:20 left in the game. Bama shut out in the 2nd half and still won. Missed FG. It was bad. Bama defense burned on jet sweep, on reverse, and on deep TD pass to Colbie Young when Demoni Jackson bit on his fake.

That will probably eliminate OK from the playoffs unless they have a back-up QB who can rescue them while Mateer is out. He will probably be back in time for the Alabama game in November which means Bama will have to deal with him then, but OK likely will not be in contention for playoff spot. Heisman Odds as of today Bama Injuries Alabama football injury update (as of September 24, 2025) • Jah-Marien Latham (LB): Suffered a neck injury in practice on Tuesday and was transported to UAB St. Vincent's Hospital for evaluation. S1 Ep 52E52 S1 BH Alabama Preview Look ahead to Georgia Game and how Bama will beat Georgia
In this episode, we will look at to the Georgia game and talk about how Alabama will beat Georgia and look at a lot of different angles to this game and there is definitely a lot to explore. Preview of Georgia game Georgia gets a big win in OT over TN. Gunner Stockton played well and showed his fight in this come from behind win over TN in Knoxville. Down 21-7, GA rallies back to get the win. Balanced offense that used the passing game to keep up with TN and used the running game late to secure the win in OT. GA defense is questionable. Gave up 41 pts to TN. Got torched by Joey Aguilar in the passing game. Questions to ponder 1. Is TN’s offense really good? Is GA’s defense not so good? 2. Can Bama do what TN did and put up lots of points on GA like TN did? 3. How good is TN? 4. How good is GA? 5. Are both of these teams top 10 teams? 6. Questions to consider? 7. Is Kirby Smart a better coach than Kalen DeBoer? 8. Can DeBoer win big games in the SEC? Team Stats from GA win over TN 44-41 Kirby had to come from behind to win in Knoxville. Can a DeBoer Led team overcome a deficit on the road in the SEC and win? Saban made a career of finding ways to win and never being down and out in a game. Questions: Against Vandy, Tennessee, and Oklahoma last year and against FSU this year all on the road, once Bama got down by 7 pts or more, Bama could not find a way back into the game. 1. Can Bama be down in the 2nd half on the road and get a win? Kirby against AL last year was down 28-0 and still found a way back into the game and almost won. 2. Can a DeBoer-led team win if they get down by 7 pts or more at half or in the 2nd half? Bama fell behind against Vandy and never found a way back. Bama had a lead in the 4th Q vs UT and then fell behind and could not find a way back. Bama was behind 10-3 at half vs OK and fell apart further from there. Fell behind against a mediocre Michigan team in bowl game and never found a way back. And fell behind against FSU and then could not come all the way back. Not come from behind grit for Bama under DeBoer in big road games. 3. How will Bama match up against a Gunner Stockton led team and Mike Bobo coached team? 4. Can we handle GA better than TN did in the last 3 quarters of that game? 5. Can a Kane Wommack led Defense stop a dual threat QB on the road? 6. Can the Ty Simpson led offense and Ryan Grubb Schemed offense carve up the Kirby Smart led defense like TN did? 7. Can Bama win if Bama doesn’t run the ball effectively against GA? 8. How do you break bad patterns and bad trends which Bama has in road games and in games where Bama falls behind? TN scored on 72 yd pass play, scored on 14 yd pass play, 9 yd pass play, and 32 yd pass play. And TN missed FG at end of game that would have won the game. Matchup’s 1. Gunner vs Ty? 2. Bama O-line vs GA D-line 3. GA O-line vs Bama D-line 4. GA running game vs Bama D 5. GA passing game vs Bama D 6. Bama running game vs GA D 7. Bama passing game vs GA D 8. Head Coach match up – who is better? 9. OC – who is better? 10. DC – who is better? 11. Special Teams – who is better? 12. Which team do you trust to make in-game adjustments and keep your team in the game or get your team back into the game? Kirby or Kalen? 13. Why will DeBoer change his MO and get a big road win in the SEC?

E48 BH Alabama Wisconsin Preview and why Bama will win and take another step to make the playoffsE48 BH Alabama Wisconsin Preview and why Bama will win and take another step to make the playoffs Wisconsin Badgers 2025 football season preview The Wisconsin Badgers enter the 2025 season in Luke Fickell's third year as head coach, seeking to rebound from a disappointing 5-7 record in 2024. The team has undergone significant changes, particularly on the offensive side, with new offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes implementing a more run-based scheme, deviating from the previous "air raid" style. Pundits project a challenging season for Wisconsin, with some sources forecasting a 5-7 record and noting the Badgers face the toughest schedule in FBS college football this season. • New Offensive Scheme: The Badgers are shifting back to a more run-heavy offense under new coordinator Jeff Grimes. The success of this transition, along with the performance of Maryland transfer quarterback Billy Edwards Jr., will be crucial. • Defensive Improvements: The defense, which struggled against the run in 2024, is looking to improve with key returners like cornerback Ricardo Hallman and linebacker Christian Alliegro, along with significant additions through the transfer portal. Offensive standouts • Danny O'Neil (Quarterback): In his first start, O'Neil delivered a record-breaking performance, throwing for 283 yards and three touchdowns while completing 23 of 27 passes. His 283 passing yards are the most by a Badgers quarterback in their first start. • Riley Mahlman (Right Tackle): As a seasoned veteran and one of the highest-rated tackles nationally, Mahlman is a key component of the offensive line, especially with the shift to a more aggressive, run-heavy scheme. • Eugene Hilton – true freshman, son of TY Hilton Defensive standouts • Brandon Lane (Defensive Line): Lane has contributed to the Badgers' improved pass rush, recording 1.5 sacks through the first two games. • Tackett Curtis (Linebacker): After dealing with injuries, Curtis is showing improved mobility and contributed one sack in Week 2. • Sebastian Cheeks (Outside Linebacker): Cheeks has displayed potential as an explosive edge rusher and also recorded one sack in Week 2. • Ricardo Hallman (Cornerback): Although stats are limited for 2025, Hallman is a crucial player in the secondary, known for his lockdown coverage skills. He had seven interceptions in 2023. • Mason Reiger (Outside Linebacker): Reiger has been a disruptive force, splitting a sack in Week 1 and adding to the improved pass rush. • Darryl Peterson (Outside Linebacker): Peterson also secured a sack in Week 1, showing his ability to contribute to the pass rush from the edge. • Tyreese Fearbry (Defensive End): Fearbry recorded a sack in Week 2

E47 BH Bama Win ULM Upon Further Review video as Bama wins 73-0 in a virtuoso A+ performance. Bama was clicking on all cylinders. Can Bama now string together 8 or 9 more wins and make the playoffs? Alabama dominated Louisiana-Monroe in a 73-0 victory on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The win marked a strong rebound for the Crimson Tide after their season-opening loss to Florida State. • Dominant Offensive Performance: Alabama's offense scored on every possession, with 10 touchdowns and a field goal. • Quarterback Ty Simpson led the way with a perfect passing performance (17-for-17, 226 yards, 3 touchdowns). • Germie Bernard: The leading receiver of the day, Bernard recorded four receptions for 109 yards and three touchdowns. His performance followed up a strong showing in the season opener against Florida State. • Lotzeir Brooks: The true freshman wide receiver received praise from head coach Kalen DeBoer for his play. Starting in place of the injured Ryan Williams, Brooks made four catches for 58 yards, including a key third-down conversion. • AK Dear: He led the team's rushing attack with 76 yards on just five carries and one TD, which included a highlight-reel 56-yard touchdown run. • Kevin Riley: Also contributing significantly on the ground, Riley had 11 rushes for 69 yards Alabama's defense put on a stellar performance against Louisiana-Monroe, allowing only 148 total yards of offense in the 73-0 shutout. Offense 1. 9 for 12 on 3rd down 2. 2 for 2 on 4th down 3. No punts 4. One drive ended in a FG instead of a TD 5. 10 TD’s and one FG 6. 583 Total yds – 371 passing and 212 rushing 7. No turnovers 8. 29/33 passing averaging 11.2 yds passing 9. Averaged 5.9 yds rushing 10. Time of Possession was 34 mins to 26 11. No punts Defensive Stats 1. Forced 3 turnovers – two fumbles and one Int 2. Held ULM to 148 yds total 3. Held them to 93 yds rushing and 55 yds passing

S1 Ep 46E46 S1 BH LA Monroe Instant Reaction Bama course corrects and plays great
Bama plays nearly flawlessly as they have a bounce back win over Louisiana Monroe 73-0. It was a A+ performance all the way around as the coaches and the players all performed so well. Not much to criticize, but can they keep it up and use this performance as a springboard to winning 10 or 11 games and making the playoffs. Hope is back! And the team showed how good they can be. But the schedule is really tough and the SEC is really tough.

S1 Ep 45E45 S1 BH Bama LaMonroe Pregame Bama expectations Playoffs still achievable if Coaches coach better
Bama LaMonroe Pregame Bama expectations Playoffs still achievable if Coaches coach better. Coaches must coach better, scheme better, adjust better, and get the players to play better and Bama can make the playoffs. Issues of Concern that must be fixed Coaching on both sides of the ball The running game Too many pass plays being called – need have close to a 50/50 mix, not 70% passes Abandonned the run after the first quarter – run the dang ball and keep running it, cannot give up on the run just because you are down 10 pts in the 2nd quarter O-line – right tackle Redzone offense – too many passes - must finish drives with points – one missed FG and three turnovers on downs after getting inside the FSU 40 yd line Use the short passing game. A short pass is similar to a run and counters the pass rush, but we don’t use the short passing game effectively. That is scheme and on Grubb. Defense – Interior Defensive Line – depth tested with Tim Keenan injured and James Smith coming back from injury Defensive discipline – doing your assigned job, assignment football, disciplined football, setting the edge, plugging the running lanes, corralling the QB, and generating sack Defense scheme against the run – have to put 7 & 8 in the box to stop running game and dual threat QB – too many times with not enough players in the box And on 3rd and long, cannot go man press coverage with no help over the top Defense was bad and must be fixed or the DC must be replaced – issues started with the scheme and lack of being prepared – it was not as much about effort as it was about scheme and Malzahn outcoaching Bama Too many Penalties DeBoer’s inability to win road games in the SEC – only 1-3 in SEC road games to date

S1 Ep 44E44 S1 BH LA Monroe Preview Bama Course Correct and will make playoffs 20250903
E44 BH LA Monroe Preview and why Bama will course correct and still make the playoffs In the aftermath of the Alabama loss 31-17 to FSU on Saturday, the fanbase and the Bamateurs are still reeling as the team started the season the wrong way. Step 1 of 12 steps went the wrong way. Many are calling for DeBoer to be fired and throwing in the towel on the season. I am not. More to come on that topic. First let’s preview LA Monroe. Alabama has elite talent. LA Monroe is a mid-major Alabama still has a power rating of 13 despite losing to FSU. La Monroe 110 La Monroe has no NFL draft prospects currently. In their win over St Francis PA, they rushed for 311 yards. They have a dual threat QB in Aidan Armenta. Good test for the Bama run defense. Have we improved? Do we have discipline and aggressiveness? Can we play good fundamental football? Has the coaches worked on better schemes and adjustments? This game should be a big win for Bama. And if not, things are really bad. DeBoer wins at home. We have better players. We are motivated. Ryan Grubb is still a good OC. I am skeptical of Kane Wommack, but we will see how it goes the next two weeks. Should be an easy win, but we have to play hard and smart and be disciplined. Bama needs to run the ball and establish the run game, play action passing, and the short, intermediate passing game. Why will Bama course correct and make the playoffs? 1. Humiliated 2. DeBoer coaching for his job 3. Kane Wommack coaching for his job 4. Defense was terrible and humiliated 5. We cannot play worse 6. Grubb and DeBoer will get the offense back on track 7. Wommack will have to demonstrate that his defense can set the edge and stop the RPO run game So far in the 12 steps of the season, we have one step backwards. Call it a misstep. We can only withstand one more misstep. Correctable mistakes on Defense. All correctable and all inexcusable lack of recognition and execution by the defense. Shows team was not prepared and not ready for these plays. Executing properly on 2 of these 5 plays takes 14 pts off the board and FSU only scores 17 pts instead of 31. Correctible issues by the Offense. Four offensive trips to the FSU 40 yd line that results in no points. If Bama ends one of these four drives with a TD and ends another with a FB, Bama gets 10 more points and has a chance at the end to win the game, Bama abandons the run in the last 3 quarters of the game. Calls 2 pass plays for every run play after the first series. FSU had a bend, but don’t break defense. They didn’t give up the big play over the top and got called for PI twice to stop TD’s over the top. Because of the score, people think our offense didn’t move the ball. We did move the ball, but didn’t finish drives effectively with four drives ending inside the 40 with Bama missing a FG and turning the ball over on downs three times. Coaches will start making halftime adjustments – they made no adjustments at halftime that had a positive impact.
S1 Ep 43E43 S1 BH Upon Further Review Bama loss to FSU Festivus comes early Xmas cancelled Alabama on the brink
In the aftermath of the Alabama loss 31-17 to FSU on Saturday, the fanbase and the Bamateurs are reeling as the team started the season the wrong way. Step 1 of 12 steps went the wrong way. Given the loss, we are going to have a Festivus moment and have an airing of our football grievances. 1. How bad is the defense – cannot stop a running game anchored by a dual threat QB. Felt like a repeat of Vanderbilt and Oklahoma game. The swarm defense looked like a confused swarm of bees. Could not stop the RPO/Option game. 2. Failure to alter the defensive scheme and give multiple looks to confuse the QB and the offense. 3. No adjustments made at halftime. No lessons learned from the losses to Vandy and Oklahoma. 4. And guess what, we will see dual threat QB’s again this season. 5. Gunner Stockton can run. Diego Pavia, Bo Pribeuala can run. Joey Aguilar, Lanorris Sellers, John Mateer can run, and Jackson Arnold. 6. Offense abandoned the run after the first series. Too much passing. 7. Had one great drive and then never went back to the mentality of let’s get 3 to 6 yds per play. 8. Interior D-line 9. O-line after the first drive 10. Penalties 11. Kicking game 12. Failure to play assignment football Ten plays that determined Alabama’s fate and the outcome on Saturday 1. Bama leading 7-0 in 1st Q. 3rd & 11 on Bama 49 yd line. Stats Bama 6 for 17 on 3rd down Bama 87 yds rushing on offense Bama gave up 230 yds rushing to FSU Penalties 8 for 70 yds Silver Lining Germie Bernard Ty Simpson no turnovers and 2 TD passes and 250 yd passing Still have a talented roster Still have 11 games to go. Cannot play a whole lot worse

S1 Ep 42E42 S1 BH Instant Reaction to Bama's shocking loss to FSU 31-17
New quarterback Tommy Castellanos led a punishing rushing attack for Florida State with 78 yards and a touchdown as the Seminoles stunned No. 8 Alabama 31-17 on Saturday, ending the Crimson Tide's streak of 23 straight wins in season openers.Coming off a 2-10 season, Florida State handed a crushing setback to Alabama, which was viewed as a College Football Playoff contender under second-year coach Kalen DeBoer.Under new offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn — who spent eight seasons as Auburn's head coach — Florida State was physical from the start, finishing with 230 rushing yards and averaging 4.7 yards per carry. The Seminoles averaged just 89.9 yards during their disastrous 2024 season. The Crimson Tide had not dropped a season opener since losing 20-17 to UCLA in 2001 under Dennis Franchione, and this defeat will ratchet up the pressure on DeBoer from the demanding Tuscaloosa faithful. His predecessor, Nick Saban, led Alabama to six national titles.DeBoer fell to 6-4 against unranked teams at Alabama; Saban went 124-4 in such games.Alabama couldn't solve Florida State's defense, finishing with 87 rushing yards on 29 carries. Florida State halted Alabama three times on fourth down, the final time coming with 5:39 to go.Castellanos, a Boston College transfer, had 16 carries while no one else had more than seven rushing attempts for the Seminoles. He also completed 9 of 14 passes for 152 yards as Florida State defeated its first ranked opponent since knocking off No. 19 Louisville in the 2023 Atlantic Coast Conference championship game.Micahi Danzy, Caziah Holmes and Gavin Sawchuk also had rushing touchdowns for Florida State.Ty Simpson completed 23 of 43 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns in his Alabama debut. Germie Bernard led Alabama with eight catches for 146 yards. The takeawayAlabama: The Crimson Tide scored on an opening drive that went 8 minutes, 50 seconds, but struggled to sustain drives the rest of the afternoon.Florida State: The Seminoles bounced back on a big stage as coach Mike Norvell began his sixth season by picking up a fifth win over a Southeastern Conference team.Up nextAlabama hosts Louisiana-Monroe next Saturday.

E38 BH Rewind Relook Bama Crushing Loss to Oklahoma. Bama suffers crushing loss to Oklahoma on the road. Milroe regression, Defense failure to execute, and poor preparation and coaching. Stunning loss by Bama. As the offense has a failure to launch and the defense fails to stop the OK running game as the fail to set the edge, loses containment in the running game, and one or more players are out of position repeatedly. In a stunning upset on November 23, 2024, the Oklahoma Sooners defeated the No. 7-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide 24-3 at Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman, Oklahoma. The loss significantly impacted Alabama's hopes for a spot in the College Football Playoff and eliminated them from contention for the SEC Championship game. Game highlights Alabama's offensive struggles: The Crimson Tide offense had a particularly difficult night, managing only 3 points – the lowest offensive output for Alabama since 2004. Quarterback Jalen Milroe completed just 11 of 26 passes for 164 yards and threw three interceptions, including a pick-six, ESPN reports. Alabama's rushing attack was also largely ineffective, gaining only 70 yards on the ground. Oklahoma's defensive dominance: The Sooners' defense stifled Alabama's offense, creating pressure and forcing Jalen Milroe into bad decisions including 3 interceptions and one of them returned for a TD. Oklahoma's defense recorded nine tackles for loss and one sack. Oklahoma's rushing attack: The Sooners relied heavily on their run game, with quarterback Jackson Arnold and running back Xavier Robinson each surpassing 100 rushing yards. Oklahoma gained 257 rushing yards in total, compared to Alabama's 70, notes ESPN. • Xavier Robinson's first touchdown run: With 37 seconds left in the second quarter, Oklahoma running back Xavier Robinson's 18-yard touchdown run put the Sooners up 10-3 at halftime. This gave Oklahoma crucial momentum heading into the second half. • Eli Bowen's interception early in the third quarter: On Alabama's third offensive play of the second half, Oklahoma's Eli Bowen intercepted Alabama QB Jalen Milroe's pass and returned it 25 yards to the Alabama 14-yard line. This turnover set up another Oklahoma touchdown and increased their lead. • Xavier Robinson's second touchdown run: Following Bowen's interception, Robinson scored his second touchdown of the night on a 1-yard run, further extending Oklahoma's lead to 17-3. • Kip Lewis' pick-six: With 8:05 left in the third quarter, Oklahoma linebacker Kip Lewis intercepted a pass from Jalen Milroe and returned it 49 yards for a touchdown, making the score 24-3. This play effectively sealed Alabama's fate, putting the game out of reach. • Jalen Milroe's struggles and turnovers: Milroe's three interceptions were critical turning points, as they directly led to Oklahoma points and stifled Alabama's ability to mount a comeback. • Oklahoma's defensive dominance in the trenches: Aftermath and implications Worst loss in years: This loss was one of the worst for Alabama in recent memory, marking the biggest defeat since the 2018 national championship against Clemson and the largest loss to an unranked team since 1998, according to CBS Sports. Summary: Bama’s playoffs hopes died with the loss to Oklahoma. Other than a big road win over LSU, Bama played poorly in its three SEC road losses and played its worst game of the season against Oklahoma. The offense was bad and Milroe was terrible. And the rushing defense was bad and Alabama was not able to stop Oklahoma on 3rd down. The offense put the defense in bad positions and the defense was not able to get key stops when needed. This loss summed up the problems Alabama had all season and the problems Alabama must fix if Bama wants to make the CFPlayoff in 2025.

E36 S1 Bama Second Scrimmage News Notes and Takeaways as Ty Simpson ShinesTy Simpson According to multiple reports from the scrimmage, Simpson completed 14-of-15 passes for well over 125 yds, with the one incompletion being a dropped pass by redshirt sophomore Cole Adams on a play that would have resulted in a touchdown.Simpson reportedly threw a 25-yard touchdown strike to Ryan Williams, while also breaking off a long touchdown run. Simpson's legs continue to be an underrated part of his game. He doesn't have Jalen Milroe's wheels, but he is a true dual-threat quarterback who will make plays every single game with his feet. "I thought he came out and executed the offense," DeBoer said about Simpson after the scrimmage. "Just continues to be steady, finds his times to make the plays. Today, he actually used his speed again. And that’s something that people will probably underestimate as we go through the year, just with his ability to make plays and keep plays alive. But he was, I thought, he was steady. He was consistent." Ty is running the offense effectively, being precise and surgical and accurate with his throws.Using his legs to extend plays and to pick up first downs and even score. Not throwing picks. Not taking sacks. Jam Miller out for the FSU game and probably out until the Georgia game. Opens up the RB position for Daniel Hill, Richard Young, and Dre Washington Daniel Hill is unique in the RB room. Special teams are a concern. FG Kicker particularly concerning. – Can he make kicks consistently, particularly beyond 40 yds? Punting concerning as well – Dijon Lee vying for playing time and starting position at Corner. Freshman cornerback Dijon Lee Jr. received significant time with the first-string defense. Played with the 1’s in the scrimmage. 6’4 and 202 and strong and very athletic.
