From the publisher

The Attracting Lasting Love Podcast is hosted by Roy Biancalana, a certified relationship coach, three-time #1 best-selling author and nationally-recognized expert in the field of attraction and conscious relationships. His podcast is devoted to supporting single people in their desire to attract a healthy, sustainable, intimate relationship. The perspective shared is a mindful or conscious perspective on life, love and the pursuit of intimacy. Roy does not focus much on telling single people where to go, how to approach or what to say to a potential partner. Rather, he focuses on helping people identify and let go of the barriers, blockages and self-sabotaging patterns that keep them single. Roy's work and this podcast are in alignment with the advice given from the famous 13th century mystic poet, Rumi, who said, "Your task is not to seek love, but instead to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it."

In 1980, Ozzy Osbourne sang about "…going off the rails on a crazy train." We all know what he was talking about, don't we? In part two of the series, we begin to unpack Michael Singer's perplexing statement: "All problems are caused by mind – no exceptions." Ep 263263 What You Should Be Looking for in a Life Partner, Pt. 5—Look for Synergy NOT Similarity

E

The amount of information on how to find a life partner is staggering. There are videos, podcasts, blogs, books—who doesn't have a theory? While some of the information is good, the sheer volume makes it overwhelming. How in the world are we to make sense of it? Well, in an effort to sift through all the noise, Roy Biancalana, our host, has boiled down our pursuit of intimacy to 5 essential ideas, and they are the focus of this 5-part series. In final installment of the series, we face an important question: What is the healthiest reason to seek a relationship in the first place? And the answer is "synergy." Synergy means, "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts." We should seek, therefore, to be with a partner that makes us better than we would otherwise be alone, a partner who's mere presence makes us more likely to fulfill our potential and express deepest gifts. When you find that person, scoop them up! And hint: BE that person, and you'll be scooped up, too. In part four of the series, the focus is on how we respond to the inevitable that occur in relationships. The options are simple: We can either claim responsibility for our experience, or we can be blame others for what's occurring. This podcast describes why you should be looking for in a life partner that claims responsibility rather than blaming others for the problems they're facing. Ep 261261 What You Should Be Looking for in a Life Partner, Pt. 3— Look for Like NOT Love

In part three of the series, you'll hear something radical. We shouldn't be focused on falling in love, but "falling in like." And that's because love is a very mysterious feeling. It's often the result of chemicals in the body or a psychological response to unmet childhood needs. But finding some you genuinely like, someone you deeply enjoy, is a far better way to evaluate a relationship. Ep 260260 What You Should Be Looking for in a Life Partner, Pt. 2— Look for Barriers NOT Boys (or Babes)

In part two of the series, we're encouraged to look not for "boys" or "babes" but rather to look in the mirror, at ourselves. We're called to look for the barriers within ourselves, because that is far more important than focusing on who we'd like to meet and how we might meet them.
