Last month, I had the great fortune of appearing on “WIRED Tech Support: Archaeology.” This YouTube video is about 15 minutes long, and I spend it answering the most common archaeology questions from Twitter. It is hosted on the WIRED channel, and the channel’s massive popularity allowed me to reach over 240K people so far since it’s release in July. Some of the questions dealt with Pseudoarchaeology, and some of my answers did not go over well with the Graham Hancock crowd! On this week’s news episode we first cover some cool bird bone flutes that were used up to 12,000 years ago as calls for birds of prey. We then go to Greece where the archaeological record has been pushed back a quarter million years to about 700,000 years ago by the presence of stone tools.
