S1 Ep 394New season! Nadal OUT, Germany triumph, Osaka + Raducanu return

In their first catch up of the 2024 season, Joel, Kim and Chris are back to round up the first week of action on the ATP and WTA tours, including Germany’s dramatic victory over Poland to win the United Cup in Sydney and the exciting return of Rafa Nadal and Naomi Osaka in Brisbane. With Elena Rybakina winning in supreme fashion in Brisbane, Iga Swiatek continuing her win streak at the United Cup and Coco Gauff defending her Auckland title, the women’s field is hotting up as we approach the first Grand Slam of the year. Meanwhile, Rafa reappeared on tour in Brisbane only to withdraw from the Australian Open with a new onset injury, whilst Emma Raducanu also took her first steps back on court with a return in Auckland. They also discuss the recent controversy surrounding the varying (and debatably damaging) tennis balls used on tour, and Rodionova’s wildcard snub at the hands of Tennis Australia, whilst the trio also boldly predict their Slam and Olympic Champions for the season as well as the Year End No.1’s.TENNIS WEEKLY CROWDFUND: https://www.gofundme.com/f/tennis-weekly-2024 Tennis Weekly 2024 Crowdfund is now open!
