Tao Te Ching Verse 15 – Can I Welcome All Things?

E

The Master doesn't seek fulfillment. Not seeking, not expecting, she is present and can welcome all things.— Stephen Mitchell, Tao Te Ching, Verse 15 Welcome is defined as greeting in a glad or friendly way – not tolerate, condone, or endure but welcome. And not only welcome but greet in a friendly manner. We are looking forward to seeing you at an upcoming meeting! Christian Non-Duality and the Tao Te Ching – Marshall Davis's Story

Marshall is a retired Southern Baptist pastor. Marshall has written over 20 books, including The Tao of Christ, a Christian version of the Tao Te Ching, and most recently, The Sermon on the Mount, a non-dual interpretation. Marshall is not in recovery but does bring much to his interpretation of both Taoist and Christian texts. His experience with non-dual awareness is incredibly insightful, not only in this interview but in his podcast and writings. Tao Te Ching – Verse 26 with Sensei Elliston – Living Undisturbed!

E

A good discussion of verse 26 of the Tao Te Ching from a Zen perspective with Sensei Elliston. "The inner is the foundation of the outer. The still is master of the restless. The Sage travels all day yet never leaves his inner treasure. Though the views are captivating and beg attention, he remains calm and uninvolved. Tell me, does the lord of a great empire go out begging for rice? One who seeks his treasure in the outer world is cut off from his own roots. Without roots, he becomes restless. Being restless, his mind is weak. And with a mind such as this, he loses all command below Heaven." Wen-Tzu – Verse 7 – How Desires Affect Your Essential Nature

E

When people lose their essential nature by following desires, their actions are never correct. To govern a nation in that way results in chaos; to govern oneself in that way results in defilement. Wen-Tzu – Verse 6 – Taoist Guidance

E

Sages do not replace the celestial with the human. Outwardly they evolve along with things, yet inwardly they do not lose their true state. So those who realize the Way return to clear tranquility. Those who find out about things end up without contrivance.
