Rain preceding the event made the sandy course even tougher than normal, and the action that unfolded on the MX 338 track was nothing short of extraordinary! Alex Ray scored his first National point of the series, and he joins us in studio to go over everything that happened over the weekend.

It's been a few weeks since we'd seen or heard from our pal Cameron McAdoo of the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team. After an eventful 250 Supercross series, "Madoo" regrouped, took a deep breath, and showed up healed, rested. and ready for this summer's 250 MX Nationals. Sadly Cameron's summer came to an end in the second moto when a came into contact with another racer and injured his knee severely enough to need surgery and a lengthy recovery process. We caught up to see how Cameron has been doing, get an update on his recovery, and much more. Enjoy!

Presented by Pro Taper The Fourth of July weekend Red Bud National never disappoints, and this year's race in Buchanan Michigan, was jam-packed full of events to bench race about. From our very own Alex Ray casing the crap out of LaRocco's Leap to Dylan Ferrandis earning his third win of the season to Aaron Plessinger driving the crowd nuts with his stars and striped shirt on the podium, we discuss plenty! For the second time this summer, we had an off-weekend break in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Nationals, and the SML Crew was spread across the country living our lives on two wheels. With the Red Bud National this weekend, there was plenty for us to chat about. Who do you have winning the 250 and 450 classes this weekend?

Presented by Pro Taper The Lucas Oil MX Nationals headed back East last weekend and visited the famed High Point Raceway in Steel City, PA, and riders were expecting the worst as the forecast predicted a 100% chance of rain with as much as one inch of rainfall. The Moto Gods smiled down upon the racetrack, though, and all that fell was a light misting during one of the 250 motos that made the racing surface ideal. We were all treated to some spectacular racing action, and we go through it all in this week's Pro Taper Kickstart Podcast. Still waiting for ARay to score a point, though...

We've been riding in one for a few weeks now, and we can attest to the fact that it is super light, insanely ventilated, and supremely comfortable.

Our guy Alex Ray made it to the 450 main straight out of the heat race on the extra-long race track and Michael Antonovich was there to see it, and a whole lot more. Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha's Justin Cooper suffered a setback only a few weeks before the start of the Western Regional 250 Supercross Series when he crashed in a corner and suffered a broken right foot from the bike landing on it. Cooper waited a few weeks before having a special brace made for the inside of his Alpinestar Tech 10 boots and returning to the track. All told, he had four days of riding before the gate dropped at the Orlando Two series kickoff, but the New Yorker made quite a statement by setting the fastest qualifying time and winning the first West Coast 250 main of the season in dominant fashion. We caught up with Cooper this past Saturday to get his take on the race, the rest of the season, and more!

Rain hammered the area in the hours prior to the race, but the Dirt Wurx crew did a phenomenal job of keeping the track dry and although the racing surface was slippery, it was far from the quagmire that many feared it would be. Freshly cleared with a negative COVID-19 test result, Alex Ray rejoined Chase Curts and Donn Maeda in the SML HQ, while Michael Antonovich phoned in from Orlando to recap the weekend's events and more!

Jeremy Coker is the Team Manager of the new Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha 450 squad, but it's not a role he is unfamiliar with. Michael Lindsay On The Swapmoto PodcastFXR/Chaparral/Honda made it through 2020 intact. Despite a mid-season lineup change and ongoing pandemic, Michael Lindsay's independently-funded effort fulfilled the year one obligations of putting more red bikes on the track and scoring points in both AMA championships. Recent changes to Honda's 250 Class efforts earned the FXR/Chaparral/Honda team increased support for 2021 and beyond, something that is reflected in the personnel (Carson Mumford and Coty Schock as racers, Richard "Pedro" Sterling and Tony Archer as mechanics) and the technical programs (part budgets, new sponsors, refined engine and chassis). Michael Antonovich discussed the recent changes and offseason work with Lindsay in this episode of the Swapmoto Podcast.
