Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha's Justin Cooper suffered a setback only a few weeks before the start of the Western Regional 250 Supercross Series when he crashed in a corner and suffered a broken right foot from the bike landing on it. Cooper waited a few weeks before having a special brace made for the inside of his Alpinestar Tech 10 boots and returning to the track. All told, he had four days of riding before the gate dropped at the Orlando Two series kickoff, but the New Yorker made quite a statement by setting the fastest qualifying time and winning the first West Coast 250 main of the season in dominant fashion. We caught up with Cooper this past Saturday to get his take on the race, the rest of the season, and more!

Presented by Pro Taper Round seven of the Monster Energy Supercross Series visited Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida, last weekend, and we saw two second-time winners this season in Cooper Webb and Jett Lawrence. Rain hammered the area in the hours prior to the race, but the Dirt Wurx crew did a phenomenal job of keeping the track dry and although the racing surface was slippery, it was far from the quagmire that many feared it would be. Freshly cleared with a negative COVID-19 test result, Alex Ray rejoined Chase Curts and Donn Maeda in the SML HQ, while Michael Antonovich phoned in from Orlando to recap the weekend's events and more!

We got together with Smith on the phone today to bench race about the Houston One and Houston Two action, talk about his Pro Circuit teammates, and reflect on what some of the highs and lows of his career have felt like. Jeremy Coker is the Team Manager of the new Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha 450 squad, but it's not a role he is unfamiliar with. Technically, Coker has been the Engine Technician for the team for a few years now, but in reality, he has been assisting Brad Hoffman and Wil Hahn for quite some time. Coker's experience in racing is extensive and dates all the way back to the Troy Lee Designs Honda team, and there is no better person to lead the squad of Dylan Ferrandis, Aaron Plessinger, and Malcolm Stewart into the Houston Supercross kickoff. We caught up with Coker to talk about his expectations, the challenges he's faced along the way, the machines, the riders, and even about what he expects from his brother, Christian Craig in 2021. Michael Lindsay On The Swapmoto PodcastFXR/Chaparral/Honda made it through 2020 intact. Despite a mid-season lineup change and ongoing pandemic, Michael Lindsay's independently-funded effort fulfilled the year one obligations of putting more red bikes on the track and scoring points in both AMA championships. Recent changes to Honda's 250 Class efforts earned the FXR/Chaparral/Honda team increased support for 2021 and beyond, something that is reflected in the personnel (Carson Mumford and Coty Schock as racers, Richard "Pedro" Sterling and Tony Archer as mechanics) and the technical programs (part budgets, new sponsors, refined engine and chassis). Michael Antonovich discussed the recent changes and offseason work with Lindsay in this episode of the Swapmoto Podcast.

Presented by FLY Racing Carson Mumford made his professional debut this summer in the 250 MX Nationals and finished a respectable 12th overall aboard his GEICO Honda CRF250R. A long-time member of the GEICO Honda squad, Mumford made his mark in the mini classes aboard a very special CRF150R, winning several Amateur National Championships along the way. When the team announced that it was closing its doors, Mumford was left without a ride, even though he had two years remaining on his contract. Recently, news has broken that he has joined the Chaparral Honda squad, which is now in its second year of operation. We checked in with Mumford this afternoon to see how the new team, machine, and personnel are suiting him.

Presented by Pro Taper SoCal is abuzz with activity at the public and private Supercross tracks as racers are starting to prepare for the upcoming 2021 Monster Energy Supercross Championship. We spent the morning at Lake Elsinore's recently opened Supercross track, and the course was as packed as the 91 freeway at 4:00 p.m. Our co-host Alex Ray was among the riders circulating the track, but he was nearly lost amongst the Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha and SmarTop/Bullfrog Spas/Moptoconcepts/Honda teams, who made up a large portion of the attendees. It's been a wild few weeks since the Fox Raceway National finale for McElrath and his wife, Joy, as they've been busy testing out a handful of different race bikes with teams that wanted to secure his services. Catering solely to the mini bike crowd, the three-day event will run practice on Friday, and one championship moto per class on Saturday and Sunday. Classes for all minis will be available, including two premier divisions for girls. Intrigued by the video, we decided to track the 19-year-old down and find out a little more about her in this episode of the Fox Feature Podcast. Says Fox Racing: North Carolina native Jordan Jarvis has been spending time at a motocross track since she was a few months old. The daughter of a former racer, Jordan was raised around the sport and eventually chose to pursue racing full time as her interest in team sports like tee ball and soccer started to fade when it they took away from her time at the track. Around the age of 8 or 9, Jordan's speed had progressed quite a bit and she started lining up against the boys to test her skills. Fast forward and 4 Loretta Lynn's titles later, she's taking on a new goal. To qualify for an AMA Pro Motocross national in the 250 Class. If anyone can do it, JJ can.

Presented by Pro Taper The penultimate round of the Lucas Oil MX Nationals went down last weekend at Lakewood, Colorado's Thunder Valley MX, and there was plenty to talk about in today's Pro Taper Kickstart Podcast! If you watched the race go down, you know that there were some spectacular saves, big crashes, and a stray muffler laying on the ground in the opening 450 moto. And guess whose that was? While there was great racing at both events, the stories that came out of them far outweigh the on-track action. After our final day of back-to-back testing, we converged on Jeff Blackmore's Blackmore Ranch to hang out in his bar and bench race about the six bikes that we had just ridden.
