Massive objects in space warp spacetime to the extent that they can act like cosmic magnifying glasses, allowing astronomers to get a better view of the deep cosmos. This technique, known as gravitational lensing, has been used by the James Webb Space Telescope to discover a group of stars that existed at a key stage in the evolution of the Universe.
