Spiritual Teachings With Shunyamurti

In this excerpt from the opening night teaching of The Direct Path: Liberation Now! retreat, Shunyamurti teaches that in this historic moment, meditation is more relevant than ever, and that those who feel they are suffering from a loss of physical freedom are actually being offered an opportunity to go inward instead of outward, and to transcend to a higher level of being at the apparent end of this world, which is actually a return to the rediscovery of our supernatural resources. By letting go of both the ego and its narrative, one can terminate the simulation and reap the blessing of destruction as one dissolves into the bliss of Self-realization.

The ego is a paranoid android! Using the analogy of a computer operating system, Shunyamurti offers insight into the development of the ego structure, explaining the defenses and weaknesses of a system that was implemented in childhood, but on which the ego continues to base its operations. You must upgrade your consciousness to avoid system failure and reprogram the mind to realize the true Programmer within.

The ultimate purpose of life is...to become delicious enough to be eaten...by God! In this very special retreat teaching, Shunyamurti likens spirituality to the medicinal and culinary arts, noting that the ultimate sacrament and purpose of our lives is to be eaten by God, which means making yourself as delicious--as in loving and truthful--as possible.

Shunyamurti suggests a thought experiment: Assuming that what we call reality is actually a virtual reality, a video game, what are the implied potentialities of our perceived world? In this classic teaching, he explains the implications and pitfalls of this potential for living reality.

If the world is a video game, are you playing to win? In this recent teaching from our Sangha Retreat, Shunyamurti encourages us to take a quantum leap outside of the matrix in order to view the world as a simulation, a dream in the mind of God in which the dreamer of the game is you!

Shunyamurti explains “The 73 Axes of Axiology” (or “The Dao of Complete Capitalism”), exploring the history and devolution of the concept of value, and reveals the only value that is eternal and does not diminish.

Shunyamurti explains that nonduality, direct realization are very difficult for the ego to grasp, mentioning Kali Yuga, and, from the work of Giorgio Agamben, that spirituality is in a state of exception, then goes on to speak of the distinction between Zoe and Bios, and the implications of the social alienation created by the response to Covid-19.

Shunyamurti jests that he is writing a science fiction novel called "Escape from Tartarus", which is about how to get out the hell realm of the ego, and goes on to discuss the ideas of the German theologian Friedrich Schleiermacher, of the yearning for the infinite as well as absolute dependency on God, as well as how to break free of illusory dependencies in order to reach true liberation.

In this livestream satsang teaching, Shunyamurti teaches that we must awaken consciousness from this dark night to a new dawn by realizing the ego's entrapment in memory and language, and divest in the world while investing in the energetic currency that is true freedom and our true nature in order to capitalize on the spiritual wealth and supernatural resources to those who choose to risk climbing out of the ego's comfort zone and up the mountain of God.

Shunyamurti speaks about the importance of our vibrational frequency, using the example of water crystals taking on the frequency of the energy that they are imbued with, how this vibrational frequency creates an energy field, giving an anecdote from his ashram in India, and how we must raise our vibrational energy to create a higher vibrational planet to bring about a new age.

Shunyamurti reads from "Cultivating the Empty Field" (the writings of Hongzhi), a section entitled "With Total Trust, Roam and Play in Samadhi", which remarks on emptying out any hope of being an illusory entity with its "warm and cozy" comforts, that understanding cannot be transmitted through scripture, and one has to let go of even the purest beliefs, that there must be a state of free fall in nonduality between the phenomenal and noumenal, and that every fragment of the dream reflects infinite facets of the Supreme.

In this opening night retreat teaching, Shunyamurti references Paul Tillich's "Ultimate Concern" as an inquiry into the various concepts of God that resonate in one's quest to love God, which is the supreme meaning of this reality and therefore the Ultimate Reality, and the only real salvation for a false world.

Shunyamurti explains that we are entering a period in which the whirlwind of destruction is accelerating, which affects all of us, as reality is fractal, and goes on to explain that we must be at the highest level of consciousness, as the ego-mind will not be able to survive.

Shunyamurti explains that the seriousness of satsangs must deepen in accord with the seriousness of the world situation, explaining that the next retreat is about the love of God, and that God must be focused upon, as the ego does not have any power of its own, and that people will begin to shift their allegiance to the vertical dimension of life, and that by cultivating the courage to dedicate ourselves to God-Realization, all the capacities of God can be accessed.

Shunyamurti says that some people are saying that we're entering a dystopia, but that we're actually leaving the dystopia, explains his toe swelling, that we have to be beyond terratoriality ("extraterrtorestials"), that we must be detached from what is dying, that God wants us to achieve independence, goes over eating less in this time, and that the key is inner silence and being in a state of calm proportional to the chaos in Kali Yuga, to not depend on golden metal but golden light.

In this opening Meditation Weekend teaching, Shunyamurti speaks about meditation as a transformational approach to being, as the revelation of truth through having the courage, wisdom, and love to overcome anxiety and become enraptured in the motionless mind that is Self-realization.

Shunyamurti explains that in order to spiritually prepare for this time of system collapse, which is actually a time of liberation, one must jettison the ego-mind for the Mind of God, a 4-track journey through unveiling, grace, and perfection to the Beyond.

Shunyamurti responds to the Khalil Gibran poem, "Fear", helping to mitigate our fears as we pass through this time of tribulation and return to the ocean of consciousness.

Shunyamurti explains that we have entered the period of our testing, that the tests will become more severe, and reveals that we have entered the time of disinfectant, in which we must disinfect (purify) our contaminated soul that is paranoid and impure, that we must shift from belief to presence, surrender to God, and be absorbed in God's presence, letting go of any egoic props, and choosing to serve God.
