Dolphins In Love V4 - LIVE PA Originals Chimix 4 Song#3 Balkanimal Skender Makota
Dolphins In Love V4 LIVE PA Originals Chimix 4 Song#3 by Balkanimal (Skender Makota) Live PA Mix#4 (out of 5) from the Originals Chimix Sessions Series of Live to 2 (straight to tape) versions of my early live act performances. Don't be surprised at occasional "mistake", even if I wanted I could not "fix it in the mix" lol, since it was all played live and straight to tape sorta speak.. but that was the beauty of it all and I like hearing it all in its natural human soundshape :) Recorded at Skeyelab Bradley Place studio Chicago Winter 2016 with ERIC DAHL

Because Of You - Dub 4/7 - v2021 Skeyelab Sessions - Skender Makota Balkanimal.com
Because Of You - original track by SKender Makota Artwork: Dorotea Hrenek www.doroteart.com Version:2021 Fall Recorded live to two, in Chicago, Fall 2021 at Skeyelab Bradley Place - operated by Eric Dahl - thanks for letting me add on your Moogs on top of mine!! Skeyelab Sessions - Skender Makota Balkanimal.com Dub 4/7 - Fourth version/mixdown/dub out of a series of 7 different versions of the same song. The original, or 1/7 mix was one of the first songs I ever actually wrote/finished back in 2001 while studying Production/Engineering/Synthesis major and piano/bass as principal instruments at Berklee College of Music. I finished it using this new awesome thing called Reason/Rebirth - I finally realized that apart from Pro tools, reason was fix it all for me as I would not have to fight over studio time, deal with musicians issues, I could make songs right here in my Boston student closet/bedroom! And I did, wrote many of the songs here back then, this End Of The World (Diluted Sky at the time) song being really if not the very first track ever... so it deserves a bit of a better presentation. Therefore, I will soon follow with all of the other mixes, and upload an album of this one song, told in many different ways - from ambient, downtempo, to elektro, electronica, to deep house and house! I will do the same for some other songs I wrote in that period and also have multiple mixes. Today, I love playing an instrument or composing in other ways, mouse clicking was a curse I could not get passed, but I am still often using Reason to get the ideas moving, or add more old stuff in a new mix in Logic etc. Using it back then in 2001 and onward as a scratch pad and basically in my mind already hearing what should be there once I reopen in Pro Tools/Logic and move on... a reminder of what should be where was precious, knowing full well that in order to get the big sound, I would need a bigger box than my G4 tower and ditch the headphones if I wanted to preserve my hearing! :0 but that was fine with me, and I was hooked! Of course, now I use everything but love analog Moog synths and Ableton as my second step tool, where live mixing and live PA is an experience in itself with endless possibilities of on the fly composing - still the easiest way to sync and devote to playing, not fiddling :) With these mixes released in one album they will be representing my progress and sound over the years in one package, and this is exciting to me :). Even the Live PA mixes from the Originals Series (about to released) all of the songs will be Released individually. Hope you enjoy it, let me know if you like it and which version did you like the best!

Oldskool House feat. Frankie Knuckles - DJ Mix 2 - Skender Makota Crazy Beach Jul 6 2019
Oldskool House DJ Mix 2 feat. Frankie Knuckles traxx by Skender Makota Recorded on the "Crazy Beach" Jul 6 2019 This is just a small amount of DJ sets I actually played, simply because I would get carried away too early and people would party sooner than I had a chance to set up an interface and computer to record the set, a mere 10 minutes of fiddling, but absolutely impossible as I'm building the set and partying along! However, just as I used to be petrified of losing a hard drive, or files containing songs in Pro Tools, Logic, Ableton, Reason or whatever, I learned soon that as long as you have the ear and soul in check, you should be able to rebuild your idea and often times when I did think I lost original sessions, the newly made versions would most likely sound better, refreshed and with more energy, as the mixdown would be practically rebuilt from the scratch... SO - DO NOT WORRY and NO FILE IS PRECIOUS, since YOU are whats precious and YOU did it once, you can do it again. Yes - electronic music can be tedious anti-logic cable wrapped and computer crashing terror as you set up your show, this is simply due to the nature of electronic instruments and digital recordings which leave very little room for natural resonances of acoustic instruments and sound captured in real air, not virtual matrix of zeros and ones... On top of that nuances of live instruments recorded through traditional means were somewhat desired, and many traditional engineers would have trouble having to move from analog to digital "way of life", not just recording method itself. Electronic music does not allow this kind of uncertainty left to chance, since the result could be piercing buzzes, insanely loud digital distributions and embarrassment. Likewise and production-wise, it would be logical to assume that once the electronic instrument is recorded in its perfect frequency resonance, the loss of the recording or misplaced parts etc would mean death of a project.. But as time went by, I realized that the IDEA behind the emotional message accompanied by reassuring beats, bowel moving basses and floating through space synths is what matters to the listener and audience out there! I could play one song using totally different samples for each of the tracks, and I guarantee that 99% of those party ppl would never even notice, as long as you and they are grooving real good to the current version!! Means DANCING, having a good time. Old track or New mix, don't matter to them, nor should to you. Anyhow, enjoy the mixes and check back often, as I update and add new DJ mixes of all diff styles I like to mix, from oldskool, disco, to house, Chicago house, techno, tech house, all the way up to trance, jungle, and heart tearing melodic lush big sound anthems etc...
