It's an episode full of horrible puns and we touch on, hallucinations, gene hunting, Levodopa Carbidopa (the drug, not the children's folksong warning of evil witches in the woods.) Lover VS Caretaker, and of course what the hell Parkinson's is all about! Also check out Larry's podcast ""When Life Gives You Parkinson's"" on Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your weekly podcasts!

Ep 129I Dove Into A Pool And Broke My Neck - Quadriplegia
EErin Saari's life changed when she dove into a pool and broke her neck. What physics are at play when a shallow dive goes horribly wrong? At what trajectory must one leap to accelerate the body to speeds capable of pulverizing the spinal column vertebrae into dust? Well, this isn't a math podcast, so don't expect to find those answers here! But we definitely dive into the world of Quadriplegia and the challenges of surviving a severe neck break!
Ep 128Planning For Your Death w/ Roxanne Walsh, Funeral Celebrant
EThis week on Sickboy Podcast we talk about DEATH! The big scary inevitability that for whatever silly reason we all seem to ignore and or fear. Roxanne fills Jeremie and Taylor in on what the next steps are. A busy episode with tons of jam packed action!
Ep 126The Birds & The Bees & A Brain Tumour
EHow do you tell your eleven year old daughter that you have a brain tumour that will very likely take your life? Do you censor yourself for her sake? Do you pretend it's not there? Do you just follow your gut and talk to her like any other human being? This week on Sickboy the fellas sit down with one of the coolest moms they've ever met, Charmaine! Blind in one eye, diagnosed with bipolar and sitting on a ticking time bomb brain tumour in her right frontal lobe that could take her out at any point. Are mental illness and brain tumours related? The drinks we're flowing and the crowd was incredible! We had an amazing time at SAIT and can't wait to go back.

His mysterious and fascinating story involves a diagnosis of Wolf Parkinson White Syndrome that has lead to a series of unfortunate complications that we explore in this in-depth chat. With Taylor away in sunny Nicaragua, the guys invited special guest host, Andrew The Camera Guy, to help reign things in. Evidently, by the length of this conversation, he did a shit job at keeping things on track… or perhaps this was just a case of a long rollercoaster-of-a-story detailing Will’s battle with WPW and it’s associated complications! After listening to this episode you’ll pretty much be a doctor, so hold on tight, take some notes, and get ready to learn a shit load!
Ep 123My Little Blue Devil, Bipolar, and I
EWhat do you call a little blue devil that speaks in tongues and wants to bury itself in your ears? Well, we’re not really sure, but Siobhan might know… she met a curious creature like this during her experience with Bipolar 2! This week on Sickboy, we dive into Siobhan’s rollercoaster life, riding out the ups-and-downs of Rapid Cycling Bipolar Disorder. Will Jeremie ever learn how to pronounce Siobhan’s name? Did Brian invent time release capsules? Is Taylor (yet again) a philosophical voice of reason? Ep 117Biohack The System: Legally Blind
EWhat does it mean to be ""legally blind""? Well, hardcore tunnel vision would do the trick. Victor knows all about it. From the challenges of kicking over children because you can’t see them, to losing your license, to no longer being able to play “Cops & Robbers” Victor knows how crappy it is to be blind. Victor AKA ""The Blind Biohacker"" drops some knowledge on the fellas re: blindness, night vision, electromagnetism, harmful light, orange sunglasses, sequix machines… You know, SCI-FI! Ep 113Seizures & Brain Surgery with TJ Miller
EI’ve been following Silicon Valley since its first season and have fallen in love with Ehrlich Bachman as he parades around with in his kimono, taking bong hits and pretending as if he is cut from the same technological and entrepreneurial cloth as Steve Jobs or Mark Zuckerberg, simultaneously unable to collect rent from the characters on the show that live in his pizza box ridden home. It can be easy to forget that some of our favourite characters on our most beloved shows are real people, with real lives, with the same shitty hands the rest of us are sometimes dealt. TJ Miller is one such person that flirted with death at a young age when he found he had been living with a brain malformation for his entire life. Most people with this condition simply die unexpectedly in their mid 30’s, having never known of the fatal malformation that was always there. Luckily for TJ, the copious alcohol consumption and lack of sleep while filming Yogi Bear 3D lead to a hospital visit that revealed his brain malformation and made him confront the decision of going under the knife and risking death on the surgeon’s table to fix his brain. It’s the things that come up for us when death is strolling around in our neighbourhood, nearby, but not quite knocking on our door. What does it mean to communicate with your sick partner? How do you go about solving the mental puzzle of a manic state? How can a community of people who have such a profound experience in common like being chronically ill elevate each other by telling their story? These are a few of the topics we tackled with in our conversation with TJ Miller, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you. TJ Miller is an original cast member and star of HBO’s Silicon Valley as well as appearing in blockbusters such as Transformers, Deadpool & the upcoming Deadpool 2, and of course, Yogi Bear 3D. Although big screen success has been good to him, he is first and foremost an extremely talented and international standup comic.
Ep 112Walkers & Catheters: Multiple Sclerosis
EThis week on Sickboy we sit down with Ardra and dig into what it's like to live with MS, what it's like to rock a walker as a young woman, and how simple catheters can be, although, Taylor is still a little confused. Accessibility becomes a hot topic and we learn just how much of our society is constructed without it in mind. We had a really enlightening conversation and we want to give a huge shoutout to Ardra's blog, Tripping on Air, at trippingonair.com
Ep 112Too Many Tubes, Not Enough Holes: Jeremie's Intussusception
EThis week on Sickboy the three amigos are finally (damn daniel) back at it again! This time around It’s story time with Jeremie who luckily didn’t die during his recent hospital woes. God bless him as he is so gosh darn humble about the whole horrifying ordeal. We dive deep deep deep into his colon that no longer exists. “Intussusception The Sequel” has it all. The guys dive into MJ’s story of personal loss, learn about boob health, bust some boob cancer myths, and (most importantly) find out about a raging party that you don’t want to miss. Buckle up for a show full of Avatar references and boys asking questions about boobies!

Jordan also has colitis, which certainly makes for a few complications in the sex department. Taylor is astounded at how much he doesn’t know about being gay, Brian gets reigned in by Jeremie, and Jer is super interested to know about being a “power bottom”. Love you all! Try 260….while sitting still….for 6 hours. For Haley, this is all apart of an episode of Supraventricular Tachycardia, or more boringly referred to as SVT. Having to take drugs that give you the feeling of imminent death and shoving catheters up through your crotch are a just a part of the experience. Join us for an ever-riveting conversation about the absurdity of living illness.
