In this episode of the Seriously in Business podcast, host Jacqui Naunton, a professional graphic designer, delves into the topic of trends in branding and design.
Trends have their place! But we need to make sure to not just follow them blindly. A trend can help your brand to look modern and up with the times BUT a trend can also make you look the same as everyone else and date quickly.
Instead, research your brand deeply and choose a current trend that suits your business (not just one that looks pretty) and tweak it to make it UNIQUE to you. This will help you avoid looking like a cookie cutter of every other business following the trends.
Already have a brand? Consistency in your brand is far more important than following trends and updating things all the time - BUT you can make little tweaks to your brand if you’d like to keep a more modern take. I.e. Slightly tweak a font or a colour.
