Stating that there has been a rise in anti-migration sentiment, Dr Aly said that the appointment of Jacinta Nampijinpa Price could be interpreted as an 'endorsement' of some of Ms Price's previous comments. Ms Price had earlier stated that the government is accepting a 'large number' of Indian migrants to boost votes for the Labour Party. Dr Aly called the claim "false" and said that migration policies are not based on voting preferences.
