An Indian-origin Uber driver won a case against Queensland Police in Magistrates Court, after claims of indecent behaviour against him were found baseless. He is now suing the police department in the Federal Court for allegedly racially attacking him and his community. - ਕੁਈਨਜ਼ਲੈਂਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਮੂਲ ਦੇ Uber ਡਰਾਈਵਰ ਨੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਕਥਿਤ ਨਸਲੀ ਭੇਦਭਾਵ ਅਤੇ ਗੈਰ-ਉਚਿਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਤਿੰਨ ਸਾਲ ਲੰਬੀ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਲੜਾਈ ਲੜੀ ਹੈ। ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਪਤ ਸਬੂਤਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਏ ਗਏ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਸਿਹਤ ‘ਤੇ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਅਸਰ ਪਿਆ। ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਨਸਲੀ ਟਿੱਪਣੀਆਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ।
