‘Patka Kits’: An initiative to help young Sikhs wear their faith with confidence in Australian schools - 'ਪਟਕਾ ਕਿਡ' ਲਈ 'ਪਟਕਾ ਕਿੱਟ': ਕੀ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਬੱਚਾ ਵੀ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਅਨ ਸਕੂਲ ਵਿੱਚ ‘ਪਟਕਾ’ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ?
To support young Sikh children in feeling proud and confident about wearing this important article of faith, 'Patka', a Melbourne-based community group 'Melbourne Singhs', is running an initiative called 'Patka Kits'. As part of the program, Sikh families receive these kits, which include a children’s story book explaining the significance of the patka and simple, easy-to-follow guides on how to tie it. - ਗੈਰ-ਸਿੱਖ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤਾਤ ਵਾਲੇ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਅਨ ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿੱਖ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਟਕਾ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਣ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਝਿਜਕ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਮਕਸਦ ਨਾਲ ‘ਮੈਲਬਰਨ ਸਿੰਘਜ਼’ ਵਲੋਂ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੁਝ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਉਪਰਾਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤਹਿਤ ਸਿੱਖ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ‘ਪਟਕਾ ਕਿੱਟਸ’ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾਈਆਂ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
