A Melbourne-based mother of four lost her 16-year-old son after to Meningococcal B, a life-threatening disease which is preventable by vaccine. Following her loss, the grieving mother, Norliah, has launched a petition calling on the Victorian Government to make the Meningococcal B vaccine free for all. - 24 ਸਤੰਬਰ 2025 ਨੂੰ ਮੈਲਬਰਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਚਾਰ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ 16 ਸਾਲਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਗਵਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਸਨੂੰ Meningococcal–B ਦੀ ਲਾਗ ਲੱਗੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਦੀ ਵੈਕਸੀਨ ਉਪਲੱਬਧ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਕੁੱਝ ਖਾਸ ਵਰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਵਿਕਟੋਰੀਆ ‘ਚ ਇਹ ਕੀਮਤ ਅਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਲਗਵਾਈ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮਾਂ ‘ਨੋਰਲਿਆਹ’ ਨੇ ਵੈਕਸੀਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਦੇ ਕੁੱਝ ਹੋਰ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਵਿਕਟੋਰੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਮੁਫਤ ਅਤੇ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਵੈਕਸੀਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਚੀ ‘ਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਪਟੀਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
