Melbourne will soon be home to an ancient Punjabi 'pind' (village), showcasing the traditional artefacts, arts, and cultural practices of the northern Indian state of Punjab. From 'trinjan' and 'sath' to 'uri' — traditional women’s gatherings, village social spaces and household customs, many traditions that are slowly being forgotten will be revived at the 38th Australian Sikh Games, scheduled to be held from April 3 to 5, 2026, over the Easter weekend. Listen to this podcast to learn more from volunteer Harpal Kaur. - 3 ਤੋਂ 5 ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ 2026 ਨੂੰ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਿੱਖ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਮੈਲਬਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਲੱਖਣ ਵਿਰਾਸਤੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਸਥਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਪਰੰਪਰਾਗਤ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਝਲਕ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਜੋ ਹੁਣ ਹੌਲੀ-ਹੌਲੀੇ ਅਲੋਪ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਤ੍ਰਿੰਝਣਾਂ, ਹਕੀਮ, ਸੱਥ, ਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਸੋਈ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਕਈ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਪਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਪਹਿਲ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਹਰਪਾਲ ਕੌਰ ਸੰਧੂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਵਲੰਟੀਅਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਹੈ। ਐਸਬੀਐਸ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰਪਾਲ ਕੌਰ ਇਸ ਯਤਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਹੋਰ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੀਆਂ ਯਾਦਾਂ ਤਾਜ਼ੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਸੱਦਾ ਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
