True story: a man traveling in a small airplane was told they were going to make an abrupt landing as the plane had lost numerous functions, making it impossible to continue the flight. He immediately started writing down everything he would do if God let him live. All in all, he wrote down 101 different things before the crash landing. For years we used the wrong spinning reels. How? Because we incorrectly thought we needed big spinning reels to fight inshore fish like big redfish, snook, trout, tarpon, etc. I can't even imagine how many fish we missed because we came in too overpowered for the situation. Turns out that even a 1000 series spinning reel can get the job done in most cases. However, the smaller reels also have downsides.
