Baxie's Musical Podcast: Mark Burgess from The Chameleons Returns!
Baxie welcomes back Mark Burgess from The Chameleons! The Chameleons have just released their 2nd EP over the last ten months (“Where Are You” and Tomorrow Remember Yesterday”). These two new releases represent their first batch of new music since 2001. A new full-length album is due later this year. The Chameleons are one of the great yet most overlooked bands of all time. If you know The Chameleons, then you know what I’m talking about out. If you don’t know them—you need to. They were a band that could have (and should have) been in the same conversation with the likes of The Smiths, Echo & The Bunnymen, and The Cure. Instead, they chose a different path. You can hear more about that in my interview with Mark Burgess from May of 2024. This time we talk about reforming the band, recording new music, and the power of their live performances over the years. The Chameleons are coming to Big Night Live in Boston on April 30th. Just a magnificent band. And I don’t throw that word around lightly. Listen on Apple Podcasts, YouTube, Spotify, and on all Rock102 digital platforms! Brought to you by Metro Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram

It’s a career that seen the release of 32 singles—including 9 of them that have cracked the British Top 10! Her 10th solo album “Key” was released several months ago. And as expected it’s amazing! Baxie's Musical Podcast: Loren Molinare from The Dogs, The Slamdinistas
Baxie talks to Detroit rock legend Loren Molinare from The Dogs! The Dogs were a band that were contemporaries of The Stooges and the MC5 but were unfortunately blackballed for playing too loudly—louder than Iggy and the Stooges!!!! Loren has great stories that include opening for Bob Seger, meeting Kiss on their first day in New York, and sharing management with Van Halen! Loren’s latest project is with the band The Slamdinistas. Their latest album, “Wild and Restless”, will be released on April 25th. It’s an absolute blast! Just an amazing guest! Baxie's Musical Podcast: Richie Onori & Stevie Stewart from Sweet
It's a SPECIAL BONUS EPISODE as Baxie talks with drummer Richie Onori and keyboardist Stevie Stewart from Sweet! Sweet’s history is a long and complicated one. On one hand it’s a band that sold more than 35 million albums with classic hits like Ballroom Blitz, Fox on the Run, and Love is Like Oxygen. Since then, three of the original members formed their own separate versions of the band—often operating at the same time. In 2008 original bass player Steve Priest formed his own versions of the band. Sadly in 2020, Steve Priest died at the age of 72. However, both Steve Priest and his family bestowed the responsibility of curating the Sweet’s legacy to Richie Onori and Stevie Stewart. They not only continued as Sweet they’ve also recorded new material. It’s an incredibly interesting story. One that offers a new take on what it means to keep a rich musical heritage intact. On top of this Keith has also been a longtime radio host on Hair Nation and Ozzy's Boneyard. Keith talks all about that plus his longtime collaboration with the late David Johansen and Sylvain Sylvain of the New York Dolls and many others (having appeared on more than 50 albums over the last 25 years). Baxie's Musical Podcast: Limahl
In 1983 Kajagoogoo released their first single, “Too Shy”. The song became a massive international hit in Great Britain, the US, Canada, Japan, Germany, The Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, and about a half dozen other countries. The song was so huge that EMI were pressing 35,000 copies a day to keep up with demand! My guest this week on BAXIES MUSICAL PODCAST is former lead singer Limahl. Limahl talks about that song, getting fired from the band, reforming, and the release of his other international hit “Never Ending Story”. Limahl also talks about his upcoming single—an incredible retooling of “Horse With No Name” by America. Just an incredible story. Listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and on the Rock102 app!
