Episode Notes In pre-Nazi Germany, Hitler took note of his audience's grievances, and like any mastermind, knew that his audience needed someone to blame. Hitler harnessed the hatred they already felt in secret, and made it socially acceptable to act on this hatred in public. Just like Adam in the Garden, we are quick to point the finger and cast blame. We are quick to find scapegoats to bear all the misplaced weight of anger or hurt that we feel. However, ironically, when we do so, we reveal our own sinful and prideful hearts. Be careful of listening to those who play with your emotions and who make scapegoats out of others, whether friend or foe. We need to stop allowing Hitler's "Blame Game" to cause division and destruction in the Body of Messiah, and instead love like Yeshua loved. Episode Notes When we recount the stoning of Stephen and his death as the first martyr, we think on his great sacrifice for what he believed. But even more importantly, perhaps, we should ask about his famous last words where he explains what his faith really was. Was he dying for a new religion invented by Jesus in the first century? Or was he a part of something that started in the garden - handed down to Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Moses - fulfilled by Jesus? Perhaps Stephen's faith was more ancient than new. More Hebrew than many would like to admit. First Century Christianity wasn't another new religious invention, but considered a sect within Judaism in the first century. And even though deep separations exists today between Christianity & Judaism, it wasn't always that way. But if we considered our Messiah truly Hebrew, as Stephen did and died for, what would that change in how we lived out our faith? Episode Notes Many believers have found their identity in a denomination, a label, or a doctrinal creed. But are you a disciple above all else, first? A disciple imitates his Rabbi, and is willing to follow in His footsteps even when it doesn't make sense. We are called to be disciples of Yeshua, but how often do we find ways to do what "we want", instead of doing what our Messiah did? How often have we fought against following certain aspects of our Messiah's walk, simply because they don't fit our personal paradigm or doctrinal understanding? God gave Abraham the famous promise of an offspring as many as the stars. But it seems that his wife would never conceive as she grows older and older. By a miracle, she does. Episode Notes It is with great sadness that we think on the passing of Rob Skiba. Rob was not a teacher with whom I agreed with all the time, but he was a disciple of the same Messiah and brought many into God's Kingdom. What was especially striking to me was realizing the significance of Rob's last message to the world: It was not a message about the topics you may know him for. Rob didn’t do the message he planned to do that day, instead he allowed the Holy Spirit to do something incredible. Could it be that the Father would like to teach us something through this about what He is asking all of us to do? To be led by His Spirit like never before.

Many of us have read the verse in Matthew 7:23, "And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness." But what does this mean? For some, this has been taken to mean that those who don't yet keep the 7th day Sabbath or eat clean as they do, aren't saved. However, is this really what this verse is saying? Two years later, she came back to the conference to share how God had healed her two years before at the previous conference, and how He had healed her AGAIN at this conference as well! During the conference, we also held an evangelism workshop for the youth. Afterwards, Elizabeth came forward in tears, expressing how fear and shyness had held her back from sharing the Gospel in the past. During the workshop, something changed for Elizabeth, and the Holy Spirit filled her with peace and joy at the realization that sharing her faith is not scary, it’s SIMPLE!

Episode Notes It has baffled me that gossip has become such an acceptable part of culture, with no distinction visible between believers and the world. We have somehow come to ignore how strongly God has dealt with gossipers, withholding the Kingdom from them. It has become our ordinary entertainment where few bat an eye, which makes it all the worse. This sin divides and destroys. But it disguises itself as innocent. What people seem to not understand is your motive doesn’t matter, whether it’s true or not doesn’t matter, whether the person is present or not doesn’t matter. Evil speech remains evil. Yeshua laid out a protocol (Matt 18), but do you know it? Do you always follow it?

Episode Notes Balaam wanted something, and even though he pretended to be holy in speech, have good intent, and a desire for God's will, he only took on this appearance for his own agenda. He believed he could use God to get what he wants. While thinking, he was going to use God, God instead used Balaam. Instead of cursing Israel like Balaam desired, he ends up speaking some of the greatest blessings over Israel! We may say we're nothing like Balaam.
