All we like sheep have gone astray. As we minister to the lost sheep, can we afford to consider simply finding the sheep to be the finish line? Paige Parnell was on the upswing in the entertainment industry. With God in mind and a Miss Alabama crown on her head, through mixed signals she concluded that this was her opportunity to use her budding career as a platform to witness. Though she learned over years of heartache that this was not God's will for her, she is able to testify today that God is mighty to save and mighty to restore! Biblical and other historical examples of "standing in the gap" are numerous and inspiring. This heroic move that has turned the tide of battles and sieges can also be applied in spiritual warfare. On the threshold of an evangelistic campaign in Ringgold, Dr. David Hartman commissions the congregation to stand in the gap using intercessory prayer. Even the demons know the scripture, so what good is knowing its words without acting on them? Many of us remember hearing mission stories growing up--stories of people meeting challenges and even persecution for sharing God's Word and love.
