Nevada football had their most important game of the season this past weekend, but the crowd at Mackay Stadium went home disappointed. The Pack went head-to-head against the UNLV Rebels on Saturday afternoon. Different opponent but same result for UNR football as they lost to the Rebels by a score of 45 to 27. UNLV took the lead early and the game was never in doubt for the Rebels. They were up 28 to 7 at halftime and added to their lead with a touchdown in the opening minute of the second half. The Fremont Cannon will remain scarlet red and reside in southern Nevada for at least one more year. This extends the longest active losing streak in all of college football. The Wolf Pack have now dropped 16 straight games dating back to last year In better news, Nevada women’s volleyball went 2-0 over the weekend. They handled business against UNLV on Thursday before racking up another win on Saturday over San Diego State. Reporting by Trey Kroll.

Erik Jorgensen hosts: The Nevada Esports Club wants to become UNR’s gaming hub, and is currently recruiting teammates for online games including Overwatch, League of Legends, Valorant, and others. During Welcome Week the Nevada Esports Club hosted the first of this year’s four LAN parties, local access networks, interconnecting individual computers to compete against each other. The university provided over a dozen computers, and many students brought their own laptops and consoles to link up and play. Their next LAN party is planned for October.
