S1 Ep 4343. HOW SIMPLE CAN IT BE: REDEFINING SELF-DISCOVERY WITH HANNAH, THE PRIMAL PRIESTESS
Are you overcomplicating your self development, healing, and/or spiritual journey? Do you find yourself attaching to or outsourcing your intuition to certain "tools" or "methods"? Are you measuring your worth based off how well or how consistently you "use" these tools/methods? Are you struggling to tune out the noise of the outside world to hear your own truth? Listen up!!! "We are no longer bound to outside methods, structures, or rules for our healing"In this episode, I'm joined by one of my mentor's Hannah Tovar, aka The Primal Priestess who teaches the methodless method to inner mastery! How simple can it be? One of the most impactful things I've taken away from working with Hannah is bringing my awareness to the multidimensionality of literally all realms of my life in reflection of my own inner world. Hannah's work has taught me to simplify my personal growth and become a radical witness and co-creator of my own inner world. With Hannah's guidance, I've began cleaning up my own energetic grid, and am proudly building a stable foundation for my business, my marriage, and my mothering to thrive on. This starts with a commitment to myself and a deepening of self worth and connection to intuition. The work Hannah does is about simplifying and bringing form to some fluffy concepts in the spiritual and personal development space. I trust this episode will serve as a starting point if some of these concepts are new to you or be a humble invitation to deepen the work you've already started. In this conversation, Hannah shines light on some tangible ways to support detaching from outcomes and trusting the Divine (God/Universe/Source) in business, birth, and relationships. Together, we also explore: Recognizing and detaching from the distortion of giving power to others to measure our self-worthThe NEED for validation, support, and connection in personal and professional growthLimitations of above-ground business coaching strategies and the impact of inner mastery on business, relationships, and self-developmentWays to discern whether learning and certifications are driven by the intention of making money or self-discovery 🪞Meet Hannah:Hannah is a mother, wife, entrepreneur, and self-initiated mystic. Her medicine centers the space where birth, sex, and business meet. From here, she guides women in both intuitive frequency and tangible form to tap into free flowing cyclical creation. She is currently enrolling for her signature course, Inner Mastery - the methodless method to energy work. This is a 12-week group journey into guiding consciousnes, somatic embodiment, shadow integration, and practical manifestation through frequency fine-tuning. S1 Ep 4141. MY HOT TAKE ON THRIVING
A cute little 'minisode' offering a reframe on what it means to be thriving. If we look to nature as a reflection of our own life, motherhood, and business... it can show us that surviving storms and moving through the death and rebirth of winter to spring are indicators of growth and flourishing(Thrive by definition, means "to grow and flourish")So is it possible that even when you aren't in a season of outward growth (aka the full bloom of summer), you are still growing. S1 Ep 4040. FROM SELF-DEVELOPMENT TO SELF-ACCEPTANCE AND A LITTLE BIZ UPDATE FROM ME
This episode is a bit of a year end review/ramble. I share some of my own reflections with offer creation and mourning the end of my first cohort of my mastermind, Recalibrate. I talk about the multi-dimensionality of life in regards to seasons and cycles: nature, menstrual, life, motherhood, and bizAnd I share how I've been in this beautiful season of softening and tending to what is, instead of constantly trying to fix. S1 Ep 3939: WINTER SOLSTICE GUIDED MEDITATION
This is a recording clipped from the replay of the Winter Solstice women's circle I held on December 22/23. I wanted it to have a permanent spot on the podcast, along with the following to reflect on:Think back to this time last year, what were your expectations/goals heading into 2023 Reflect on your growth / transformation Did you have a keyword for 2023? Bring that front of mind as you reflect Scan through your year - meditate or look through your camera roll to jog your memory It’s easy to look at the good times, but can you hold space for the hard times too? Notice the challenging moments AND the celebrations. Pick a few prompts below to journal on: What am I proud of? (Don’t dim anything down. Hold space for even the smallest wins) What am I grateful for? Where did abundance show up? (doesn’t have to be financial abundance) What was my biggest challenge? What would bring comfort, care, or completion to this challenge? (Perhaps a Ritual, ceremony, communication, setting a boundary, etc.) What *isn't* working for me?What *is* working for me?Where am I rushing? Or feeling a sense of urgency?Where can I add intentional pauses (microrest) to my life? What does my body need right now? What ‘shoulds’ or stories do I want to release? What am I still harvesting from last season (fall)? What am I letting go of (letting die) this season (winter)? How can I prepare and nourish myself (soil) to be fertile next season (spring)? S1 Ep 3535. RECLAIMING HEALTH IN MODERN DAY MOTHERHOOD WITH KATIE GALVIN
Generational conditioning is impacting our physical health as mothers, this episode sheds light on the importance of supporting our feminine physiology to reclaim health in the chaos of modern day motherhood. I'm joined by Katie Galvin who is a functional diagnostic nutritional practitioner. Katie walks us through reclaiming vibrant health in motherhood through an ancestral and holistic lens of functional nutrition and nervous system regulation. We discuss how generational conditioning and conventional medicine is failing moms and some controversies around antidepressants, including why postpartum anxiety and depression need to be viewed as a symptom not simply a mental health diagnosis. As two former overachievers and recovering people pleasers, Katie and I discuss our shared experience of how good girl conditioning has impacted our physical health and why we've placed nervous system health as top of mind. Katie gives us tangible tips to start reclaiming our health yesterday including simple nutrient dense foods to swap out some modern day trends. Katie is on a mission to challenge the normalization of symptoms and raise the bar for optimal health for mothers. Taking care of ourselves as moms is not only essential for our own well-being but for the future generation we are raising. Meet Katie: Katie Galvin is a former speech therapist turned postpartum doula and functional diagnostic nutritional practitioner. She specializes in postpartum health, but loves all things women’s health and hormones! She’s a wife, and homeschooling momma of two. Katie was diagnosed with postpartum anxiety and depression after having her daughter in 2016. After struggling with severe physical symptoms and mental health, she struggled to find answers and was able old that medication and therapy was her only option. Medications did not help her symptoms, and she felt that conventional medicine had completely failed her as a mom. She dove head first into the holistic health space and learned how to heal her body with functional nutrition and lifestyle strategies. Katie went on to become a certified functional practitioner and now helps other moms identify their root causes so they can self-heal and experience vibrant health in motherhood. S1 Ep 3434. FEMININE EMBODIED MARKETING: 5 WAYS TO STOP SELLING LIKE YOU HAVE A DICK
EThis episode is inspired by the flood of Black Friday emails beginning to fill my inbox as we approach American Thanksgiving. It had me reflecting on how it feels to be sold to by mother entrepreneurs using some common mainstream marketing tactics, you know, the ones created by men.... So I'm calling out some mainstream "bro marketing" strategies and inspiring you to quit marketing like you have a dick.Jokes aside, I offer some alternative ways to sell and create content authentically, and some behind the scenes actions you need to be taking to show up to your business from a place of overflow, not depletion. Feminine embodied business creation involves you claiming your desires, following joy and pleasure, and prioritizing rest. I hope this episode inspires you to speak from your heart, share your stories, and connect on a deeper level with your audience because the world needs you to stop dulling your light and stop selling/marketing like you have a dick 😛>>> Click here to join the waitlist for The Embodied Reset, my upcoming group program for mother entrepreneurs ready for major integration and to get their head out of the way of their heart-led biz. S1 Ep 3333. HOW TO SWAP PRESSURE FOR PLAY AND CREATE CONTENT AND OFFERS OUT OF DESIRE NOT OBLIGATION
TLDL (too long didn't listen): STOP PUTTING YOURSELF IN A BOX WITH CONTENT AND OFFER CREATION BY ACTING OUT OF PRESSURE AND OBLIGATION In this episode, I'm sharing a candid update on the behind the scenes of my business and some of the pressure I've been putting on myself to "oblige" to mainstream marketing norms, to "perfect" my offer suite, and to be "accessible" to as many potential clients as possible…So of course, I'm walking you through my in-real-time process of HOW I’m swapping pressure for play! I share about some of the urgency I've been feeling around the common practice in the coaching industry to offer multiple products or services at varying price points, and to have this 'perfectly proven funnel' set up in my backend. And of course share my unpopular opinions on this, which I believe is actually keeping us in a box, and diluting our voice and points of connection with potential clients. Instead, I argue the importance of experimentation in your marketing and offer creation in order to align your offerings with what feels truly energizing and inspiring, rather than succumbing to societal pressures or obligations. And seeing offer creation less linearly, and more cyclically! This is your massive permission slip to PLAY! Begin to look at offer and content creation like a massive science experiment, start "trying things on for size" without the unnecessary pressure and attachment to outcomes/timelines. Swapping pressure for play is also a way to expand your nervous system's window of tolerance AND an opportunity to heal good girl conditioning and perfectionism! Be sure to listen to the end where I tease my upcoming group program for mother entrepreneurs wanting to get their head out of the way of their heart led business. This group training will be centred on unlearning, relearning, and embodying. The intention is to create a space to unravel and integrate. S1 Ep 3232. WRITING + POETRY AS A TOOL TO STRENGTHEN INTUITION AND RECONNECT TO YOUR INNER AUTHORITY WITH KAT FARRELL DAVIS
In this episode, I'm joined by fellow matrescence facilitator Kat Farrell Davis where we explore the depths of motherhood; including societal expectations, collective feelings of inadequacy and disconnection, and why we should rebirth the lost art of writing. Kat and I address our primal need for connection, and the generational impact mothering has on the world. We also discuss the importance of redefining success based on our own values, and the magic of embodied poetry. Kat believes we are all poets and introduces us to the idea of using poetry / storytelling as a tool for mothers to hone intuition, root into inner authority, and source resiliency, empowerment & community. Kat sees writing as a small thread to dismantle the patriarchy and shift the paradigm. After listening to this episode, I think you'll agree! So grab your journal, because this conversation is both thought-provoking and soul-stirring. S1 Ep 3131. TIME FREEDOM AND FEELING CONTENT AS A MOTHER ENTREPRENEUR: IS IT INTENTION OR PRIVILEGE?
How often do we make things harder than they need to be due to our own agendas and attachments?? Once you become aware of this, it becomes apparent in both motherhood and entrepreneurship. In this episode, I discuss how so often we as mother entrepreneurs can be our own worst enemy, getting in our own way due to attachments to time and success. We can easily miss out on experiencing joy in the journey if we are always focussed on the future and thinking "if I could just have x, then I'll feel y". I share my own musings around privilege versus taking intentional action and getting out of victimhood in our own lives. I delve into the idea of time flexibility, gratitude, and the belief that creating a life of abundance and freedom is possible for everyone. I invite you to consider your own journey as a mother entrepreneur and encourage you to celebrate the life you have built while taking intentional action towards the life you desire. I also share several things I've done internally to help me get closer to creating a life of time freedom including: - nervous system regulation- openness to receive - money mindset- healing my wounded maiden archetype (victimhood)- and finding joy and pleasure in the mundane moments so I'm not constantly seeking something outside of my current life I would love to hear what lands for you! S1 Ep 22Our Planet is Burning and My Heart is Heavy
Go ahead and call me a conspiracy theorist if you must..These are my honest thoughts around the current fires happening on Maui and In BC. Some things simply are not sitting right with meBUT I think the WHY behind all these fires actually doesn’t even matter while they are STILL burning. My heart goes out to those impacted. And our energy is best served holding space and compassion and not trying point fingers at this timeThis episode feels a bit edgy for me because I’m not even clear on my own beliefs. What I say/feel/think today might be completely different than what I think tomorrow and that’s ok! In this episode, I attempt to process some of what I've been feeling in response to the massive fires happening on Maui and across British Columbia and the NWT I also share a bit of my own uncertainty within my business, which listening back feels like peanuts compared to the rest of the weight I'm feeling. At the end of the episode, I share some tangible strategies I'm trying to implement to help ground and nourish me in these confusing times. I’ve carefully chosen certain organizations to donate to that disperse funds/resources DIRECTLY to families in need, I'll share them below if you feel called to donate with me! S1 Ep 17Secrets to Stop Self-Shaming and Find More Joy
Another solo episode sharing what's alive on my heart 💃This week I continue to talk nerdy to you about the nervous system! I get into my own self shaming tendencies and share my personal experience currently thawing from a freeze response. I explain why we need to stop looking at our nervous system with a binary lens and also discuss: the importance of finding space for restintegrating slowness in your life to create space for joyunderstanding pleasure beyond sexuality The conversation highlights the importance of holding space for circumstances instead of trying to control, fix or micromanage. This is an invitation to you to slow the f down and get curious about the symptoms in your body without judgment. Questions to ponder: How have societal pressures to perform or achieve impacted your self worth? Have you ever found yourself believing that you have to work hard and endure suffering in order to experience pleasure and joy?How do you practice slowing down and creating space for rest in your own life? Are there any specific activities or rituals that you find helpful? Do you wait till it's too late How do you personally experience the concept of intensity in your own life? S1 Ep 15Planting Seeds for Success: From Growing a Garden to Raising a Family, with Gina DiSalvo
Do you have a hard time trusting your intuition and end up following other people’s strategies in order to find success? What if I told you that leaning into your intuition and simplifying what you can handle is the secret behind sustainable growth and success? This week, I'm joined by Gina DiSalvo and we dissect what it means to follow your intuition and focus on what you can actually manage in this season of your life. Gina is a backyard veggie gardener, wife and mom of 3 on a journey to self sufficiency. S1 Ep 14How Society is Failing Us in New Motherhood, with Nikki Matthews
You aren't failing mama, but society might be failing you. In this episode, I'm joined by Nikki Matthews who shares her experience preparing for pregnancy/birth and navigating postnatal depression and anxiety after becoming a mom. She discusses the societal taboo surrounding maternal mental health and the struggle to seek support. This is part 3 of a 3 part series on Matrescence (tune into episodes 12 and 13 to hear other matrescence stories) In this episode, Nikki and I also discuss: The differences in healthcare, parental leave, and childcare in the UK, Canada, and the US How society is failing in preparing mothers for the emotional changes and identity shift that come with motherhoodThe importance of exploring personal values and why self-discovery should be prioritized instead of fitting into traditional metricsThe pressure to bounce back and return to pre-baby life and how this adds to the struggle of understanding one's new identity as a motherNavigating feelings of isolation and inadequacy in new motherhoodNikki shares the importance of understanding matrescence and normalizes some of the hardships so many of us face in early motherhood. Tune in and join the conversation as we dissect the need for societal change to better support mothers.A note from Nikki: "I'm a Brit, currently living in the USA away from friends and family. I'm married to my wonderful husband James, I have a rambunctious 2 year old little boy, and I also have a non-stop 4 year old pup called Dora. Our house is loud, high energy and messy (just to keep things in perspective!) I used to work in the corporate HR space for 14+ years, but recently took a career break to spend time with my son & explore some of my creative passions... Which brings me on to the.maternally .... an idea that I had when in the throes of postnatal depression and anxiety, and realised so much more needed to be done to support mums as they transition into and throughout motherhood. When I first stepped into the role of mum, I really needed an ally in my corner ... hence the.maternally was born! I'm a motherhood ally, a matrescence educator, a fierce supporter of maternal mental health, a recovering people pleaser and perfectionist and a HUGE croissant lover! Is it your intuition or society's "to-do" list? I'm certainly guilty of living by default and getting wrapped up in the 'checklist', striving to meet my next career goal and chasing society's definition of success... but this episode isn't about me! S1 Ep 6Postpartum care NOT as a luxury but as an essential, with Brittany Zeer
There's a massive gap in care for mothers after having a baby. Brittany Zeer, creator of Blissful Womb Care joins me in this episode to discuss the importance of supporting postpartum healing as a way to improve the wellness of not just a family, but the community. She outlines the 5 essentials that every woman should be offered including: Rest, Warmth, Body Care, Nourishment, and Community SupportWe also discuss the Rite of Passage a woman goes through when becoming a mother and how often the Rite of Passage is incomplete; missing the integration of a new beginning and new identity. To properly complete this Rite of Passage, we need social recognition and community care, which is generally lacking in our culture. “Birth is just a blip in timePregnancy is just a blip in timeBut postpartum is foreverYou’ll never not be postpartum again”-Brittany ZeerBrittany reminds us that the postpartum period is forever, not just the 6-12 weeks we are led to believe. At the time of this recording, I was 18 months postpartum and had the opportunity to experience one of Brittany's postpartum packages first hand. In this episode, I debrief my experience including the lessons I learned after processing my birth story with her and my experience during the Closing of the Bones ceremony. Brittany supports women and mothers with Menstrual Cycle and Fertility Awareness, 1-on-1 Pregnancy Support, Prenatal Yoga, and Postpartum Care. S1 Ep 5A solo rant on navigating limitless opportunities
Spontaneous solo episode where I go on a little rant about human design and shedding layers of societal conditioning. I reflect on my journey so far, feeling naked and afraid as I approach this limitless path in front of me. I'm feeling it ALLThe fear, the excitement, and the biggness I know I'm on the right right path if I can continue to follow my heart and get out of my head This impromptu rant was inspired by @catie.lynch on IG who is a fellow projector and mentor for visionary entrepreneurs and thought leaders Wanna connect? S1 Ep 4Following your passion and overcoming imposter syndrome in motherhood with Olympian and Mom, Elisabeth Maier
This episode is super special to me as I'm joined by my friend of nearly 20 years and ex-podcast cohost, Elisabeth Maier! Elisabeth is a mom to 2 and a retired Olympic Skeleton athlete (to hear the whole scoop on how her career in sport got cut short, listen to episode 11 of our former podcast Brunch With Mamas here)In this episode we hear Elisabeth's honest experience entering motherhood, how she navigated a massive career (and identity) shift, and the honest truths related to overcoming major feelings of inadequacy and imposter syndrome in motherhood Connect with Elisabeth on IG @eh_maierConnect with Nicole on IG @nicolepasveerSupport the showConnect with Nicole on IG (@nicolepasveer) Want to be a guest on the podcast? S1 Ep 3A quick reminder to celebrate the little (big) things
This episode was not planned! I think the spontaneous solo episodes are soon going to become my favourites! In this quick chat, I reflect on celebrating the launch of this podcast. I encourage you to notice the little things in life worth celebrating and I remind us both that what we focus our attention on grows... so we need to stop critiquing ourselves (which is subconsciously rooted in lack and scarcity) and instead start paying attention to our baby steps and getting back up each time we fall (growth and expansion) As always, I'd love to hear from you! S1 Ep 2Watered Down and Redefining Self-Worth: My career path up until now and how I'm starting to live my most potent life
In this solo episode, I pretend we are on a first date and begin unloading my life story with you! I discuss the pressure I put on myself during high-school and university to get good grades and pick a "successful" career path . Looking back now, it's so easy to see I spent a lot of those years worried about my reputation and held onto the belief that my worth was measured on my achievements... and that "achieving" equaled success. Since becoming a mom, it's become clear to me how strong my overachieving/perfectionist/people pleasing tendencies were... it's given me opportunity to make different choices and start forming my own identity! For the first time ever, I'm doing things because I want to, instead of because it's expected of me! If you like what you see (um hear?) so far, or resonate to anything I've shared, please let me know. I'd also love if subscribe to the show and leave a rating/review! DM me over on IG with a screenshot of your review so I don't miss it. Since my love language is words of affirmation, it will truly make my day ♡ If you're interested in being on the show and have a conversation idea you'd like to bring forward, fill out this form Support the showConnect with Nicole on IG (@nicolepasveer) Want to be a guest on the podcast? S1 Ep 1They told me not to record in the bathtub but I did it anyways
In this episode, I introduce who I am and share a bit about why I'm starting this podcast. As a busy mom, it can be hard to find quiet time so I figured why not record while taking a bath! Turns out the audio quality is nooooot superior, it sounds like I'm in a cave! So until I figure out a better mic setup, my dreams of recording in the tub are crushed... It was important to me to not let perfection get in the way so this is an exercise for myself to show up MESSY - here's your permission to do the same! Connect with me, I'd love to hear from you!! Come say hi on IG @nicolepasveer As I keep playin', showin' up messy and creating, I'm always looking for special guests to co-host with me!! Think of it less like an interview, and more just chatting over a cup of tea!
