In David we see a man of great diversity. In some cases he was a mere man, a son of Jesse who struggled with sin. However, he was also God’s anointed King who was promised an eternal King from his seed and He also wrote many inspired words which became our Bible. It is important we see him in all these ways and with discernment evaluate when we are seeing his humanness and when He is speaking and acting on behalf of God. ★ Support this podcast ★

There is so much to learn from David. We should learn both from David’s successes and failures. In life there will be many who will have counsel. Make sure you are seeking God’s counsel among counselors. As we will see in this chapter mankind is filled with lies, deception and biases. When you seek counsel, go to men and women of God, Compare what they say to God’s Word and you will have a good foundation from which to make a decision. The other important word from this chapter is that David was lied to and acted on the lie. Ep 4702 Samuel 6 The importance of learning from mistakes and knowing when you didn’t make one.
This is a very interesting chapter. In this chapter we see David make a mistake in not slowing down to seek God and his Word and as a result he does something in his own strength irreverently. Then we also see in this chapter someone come agains him when he does not make a mistake and in that case David knows the feedback is not of God. It is so important we learn both of these lessons. Many times we need to both slow down, seek God and when we make a mistake learn from it and the move forward the right way. However, also sometimes people will come against you and say you are making a mistake when really the mistake is in them. In those cases we have to have the wisdom and confidence that their feedback is not from God. Both of these issues are very relevant and important to our lives. ★ Support this podcast ★
