In this episode, I share with you three influential lessons I learned from observing small plants growing in the cracks of soil around the pyramids in Egypt. It is unusual to find plants when you visit the ancient sites. Kin are there, but not always visible, which is why I was so excited when I had some alone time with one particular plant.In our communication, this helped me understand just how much ki contributes to the health and wellness of not just the site, but all those that visit. It was super powerful to understand just how much is happening belowground.And this provided a different perspective on our own human contributions. I'm so excited to share with you this episode because the feeling that you are "giving away for free" your expertise comes up often, especially with multipotentialite entrepreneurs looking to create unique offers.Recently, one of my clients came to me with a dilemma: she felt like she was being taken advantage of in a new business endeavor. We brought it into our NCLg group mentoring call (part of Flourishing Sprouts), and instantly witnessed the choral voices of indignation and frustration.After copious venting, I introduced the plant perspective. This is based on the concept that we all have some level of plantness at our core, therefore what happens when we activate this aspect of ourselves. Rather than seeing others as seeing others as threats or competitors, it opened the discussion to potential allies and collaborators.In this episode, explore this shift in logic, and how it allows us to approach a situation not from a place of fear or scarcity, but from a place of curious creativity. We can look for ways to make any deal mutually beneficial, not only in terms of money, but also in terms of values, goals, and vision. Years ago, when I lived in the Damanhur nucleo home of Cornucopia, I made friends with a spider plant. Ki came from Sicily and was actually the coming together of various small spiders, AKA offsets, scattered around the house by the person that was supposed to take care of ki. Abandoned, I grouped them together, and with much appreciation, was told that as they fused into one being, I could call them Spider plant--capital S and lower case p, two words.When I moved into the room where Spider plant was living, I discovered ki was quite chatty. At the beginning of my coaching business, there was no lack of things Spider plant wanted to discuss with me. Very quickly ki assumed the role of "business partner," and as such our strategic partnership was born.In episode 29, I share with you two very important lessons Spider plant taught me in the years we've worked together. These were reinforced during COVID, when ki stepped up to share their healing gifts with the world. I received an email from someone that took my Spirit Wild Plant quiz telling me, "When it comes to the courses, I am a bit cautious because I don't think that understanding of plants can be taught in this way because communication with them is not measurable. It's based more on faith and intuition."She's not wrong... but she's not all together right, either. At its core, communicating with plants is about giving yourself permission to give and receive differently.
