To learn more about Carolyn and her work, explore her website https://carolynborashypnotherapy.com/Join us as we delve into the intricacies of emotional healing and rediscovery of life's purpose at 69 years old.Carolyn's bio in her own wordsBoth of my parents were alcoholics. There were 5 kids in the family. On the outside we were the perfect family. We even won an award called "The Master Farm Family". On the inside, there was absolute chaos. My mother was THE alcoholic. I think my father became one in order to survive living with her. There was definitely emotional abuse . My mother was absolutely cruel when she was drinking. My siblings and I were all doing our best to survive in that family. I was given the nickname "ugly" by one of my siblings. I thought it was true because this would occur when we were sitting around the dinner table, my parents were present and yet they did nothing to correct it. If my parents didn't say anything, then surely it must be true. And what impact did that have on my self-esteem?? A few years later I was sexually assaulted. As it was happening, I remember thinking that I really wasn't surprised because this sort of thing only happens to ugly girls and I was ugly, right? It took me 15 years to finally get some help. I couldn't ignore the panic attacks any longer. My message is that help is available! I am now a RTT Practitioner (Rapid Transformational Therapy) and Certified Hypnotherapist, and I'll be happy to assist you in person and virtually. S6E145 Resilience and Healing with Karen Krupp
Struggling with the echoes of a turbulent past, Karen Krupp walked alongside me as we traversed the terrain of her harrowing journey from the shadows of abuse into the light of self-worth. Sharing the stark realities of early childhood molestation and the hunger for connection it bred, Karen's tale is a mosaic of pain, hope, and eventual triumph. Her candid revelations capture the essence of a spirit fought for and won, a transformation culminating in the affirmation "I am enough," a mantra she now wears as armor. Through her narrative, the episode unfurls the critical steps she took amidst nature's solace and spirituality's embrace, charting a course that healed her.As Karen's voice lent gravity to our conversation, we navigated the precarious waters of relationship boundaries, especially in the wake of manipulation's scars. The episode becomes a masterclass in the art of self-preservation, examining the razor-thin line between nurturing self-care and the necessary retreat from a partner's narcissistic dance. With Karen's insights and my own reflections, we probe into the emotional toolkit essential for such journeys—discerning the boundary between healthy self-assertion and the withdrawal that can hint at narcissism's own shadow. This episode transcends mere storytelling; it is a beacon to anyone yearning to reconstruct their fortress of dignity and respect amidst the ruins of past afflictions. Karen's introduction in her own wordsI’ll be honest, it’s been a long road for me. Following a challenging second divorce, and a wobbly 3rd marriage, I found myself at a crossroads, grappling with feelings of unworthiness and victimhood. It was a turning point that led me to delve deeply into personal growth, mindfulness, and nature as avenues for healing.Connecting with the great outdoors on hikes, bike rides, and soul-nourishing retreats helped me rediscover my inner strength and establish a profound connection with both nature and my higher self.I hope that I can use what I’ve learned on my personal journey, alongside the tools I’ve studied as professional coach, to help make your journey out of codependence easier and quicker than mine. You are worthy. Now it’s time to align your life with this truth. I know what it's like to live in relationships that aren't harmonious or happy. My coaching journey began as a personal quest to start standing up for myself, empowering my own life decisions and igniting the desire to heal my heart from a broken past. I’ve learned that overly giving, people pleasing and not taking care of yourself actually destroys relationships. Who knew, right? But seriously, I didn’t know! Sure, intellectually we may understand that we should take better care of ourselves. But to really make change, we need more than knowing. We need to go beyond taking care of ourselves. We need to become ourselves. It takes real work to transform these patterns. But the good news is that there are tools and techniques that can make the journey much easier.I’m so passionate about empowering women like you to go beyond just wishing you could have better relationships… it’s time we reclaim our power and rewrite our stories! Her journey, steeped in the challenges of overcoming abuse and religious trauma, unfolds in our latest episode, offering not just her story, but a beacon of hope for anyone facing their darkest moments. Marcie, a transformational life coach and inspirational speaker, courageously opens up about her tumultuous childhood filled with violence, the shackles of addiction within her family, and the crippling silence imposed on her by a church community. Her past, rife with exploitation and psychological scars, paves the way for a powerful discourse on resilience and the unyielding human spirit. The tale takes a dramatic turn as Marcie describes the intersection of faith and identity, where the internal battle of a missionary's sexual identity meets the harsh judgments of religious dogma. The haunting account of a forced exorcism and the struggle to maintain authenticity in an unforgiving environment is both disheartening and enlightening. Marcie's experience of finding solace in the words of a gay pastor and the desperate measures taken to protect her baby highlight the profound struggles that led to an unshakable quest for authenticity and inner peace. Through her narrative, we grapple with the complexities of belief and the necessity to forge our own paths in the pursuit of truth. In the final chapter of Marcie's odyssey, we touch upon the critical importance of community support and the role of creativity in healing from trauma. Marcie sheds light on the gravity of domestic violence and the essential conversations surrounding support for the LGBTQ+ community. Her story is a testament to the enduring fight for individuality and personal attraction, challenging us to honor the inherent worth of every person. As we wrap up our discussion, Marcie leaves us inspired, with her eloquence painting a vivid picture of a world where respect and acceptance are not just ideals, but a reality for all if we allow it to be. Marcie Macari's bioMarcie Macari is a published author, Culinary Instructor to adults with developmental disabilities, and Registered Orthomolecular Health Practitioner. Her resilience resume includes:surviving every kind of abuse, nearly every natural disaster,a health condition that left her bedridden overnight and stole more than 10 years of her life, and being abandoned by a Christian ministry in Africa when she came out as a Lesbian. With the ministry refusing to fly her home or renew her work visa, Marcie started making, selling, or trading handmade greeting cards for food to feed her and her 14 month old daughter. When she was 24 and woke up suddenly very ill, she went to every type of doctor and specialist she could find. No one seemed to be able to help, so she studied to be Registered Orthomolecular Health Practitioner, (ROHP) graduated the 3-year program in a year with First Class Honors and worked to heal herself using food and nutrition as medicine. She has been helping people heal themselves ever since, and coaching people to harness their resilience to overcome the challenges they face…to bounce, not break! Marcie is the author of “She Births: A Modern Woman’s Guidebook for an Ancient Rite of Passage” and has been published in several magazines including: “VIVA”, “Compleat Mother”, and “Island Child”. S4E103 Holding Space For Peace In The Midst Of Chaos With Tabitha Hopmann
Tabitha Hopmann’s introductionMeet Tabitha Hopmann, a woman who has gone through a journey of self-discovery and healing. Her story begins with a marriage at the age of 24 to her Christian virgin husband. Despite their strong faith and commitment to each other, their relationship began to unravel over the next decade.Tabitha found herself feeling trapped by her belief systems and struggling with codependency as her husband dealt with alcohol abuse and the realization that he was polyamorous. Tabitha began to sacrifice pieces of herself to keep the relationship together. She felt lost and needed to find herself. Despite feeling torn apart emotionally and mentally, she found it difficult to leave due to her love for him and her unwavering belief that God wanted her to stay. It wasn't until her husband fell in love with one of their best friends that Tabitha began to awaken to her own needs and desires. They separated for a time, which started her healing process. Tabitha became open to different healing opportunities and connect with new friends. When they attempted to reconcile, they realized that it was no longer a good fit. Through it all, Tabitha believes that God brought her back and spoke to her, giving her permission to leave, let go, and trust. When she showed up for this, everything changed. Today, Tabitha is a strong, independent woman who has found her true self and is dedicated to helping others do the same.Your Common Interests With Tabitha#WildlyTherapeuticJourney Embrace the transformative path towards healing and self-discovery with Tabitha Hopmann and Wildly Therapeutic.#InnerPeaceMatters Explore the profound importance of finding inner peace and experiencing the freedom to be your authentic self.#HealingCommunity Join a supportive community dedicated to healing, growth, and mutual support on the journey to personal well-being.#EmbraceYourAuthenticity Embrace your true self and live a life free from the constraints of guilt and shame.#SelfCareRevolution Discover the power of self-care as a transformative practice for nurturing your mind, body, and spirit.#ThrivingThroughHealing Experience the joy and empowerment that comes from healing, as you unlock your potential and thrive in all areas of life.Connect with TabithaTabitha’s Website: https://wildlytherapeutic.com/Tabitha's email address: [email protected]: https://www.linkedin.com/in/tabitha-hopmann Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/TabsHopmann/wildly-therapeutic-vibes/ Do you care about being featured and published on Real Talk Real Women?Apply here: https://apply.realtalk-realwomen.com Get full access to Gemma’s Gem at gemmasgem.substack.com/subscribe
