Todays guest is a well known figure in scottish farming however lives closer to Oslo than Edinburgh! Born and bred on Bigton Farm on Shetland, Aimee knew her career would involve animals she just didn’t know to what extent exactly…horses, farming or otherwise! I’m her teens Aimee and her sisters unfortunately lost their father. At the time the decision was made for her eldest sister, mum and grandfather to continue with the farm with assistance from Aimee around her degree which she studied at the Aberdeen campus of SRUC, Craibstone!During the time Aimee was studying the farm was approached by BBC’s successful This Farming Life offering the family the chance to share their story to the masses in turn showcasing what Shetland and they had to offer! All of this together saw the farm with the Countryfile Farming Heroes Award in 2018 A story where in Aimee’s words you don’t know how strong you are until being strong is you’re only option…a joy to see a business transpire from uncertainty to the current plans for the future!
