Four years ago Joe decided to transition into the SUD/Mental Health space of healthcare. A decision born from Joe's sincere desire to help people just like him. Joe recovered from his own battle with drugs and alcohol just over nine years ago. Since transitioning into SUD/Mental health treatment, Joe has worked as an Outreach Coordinator, Treatment Advocate and most recently as an Interventionist. Beating Addiction & Chasing Your Dreams Wesley Geer is a professional guitar player, songwriter, recording artist, and producer, who signed his first record deal to Jive Records with the band he founded, (Hed) P.E. Wes toured the world for nearly a decade, and the band sold over 1 million records worldwide. What many didn’t know at the time was while he was masterminding, and leading his band to the member’s first-ever record deal, Wes was a full-blown drug addict, using alcohol, methamphetamines and other drugs, daily, for years. Subscribe for more recovery livestreams and information! / @pejtheaddictioni... As a progressive disease, no matter the efforts to quell his addiction and control it, things continually got worse. After nearly a decade of touring the world, with the biggest names in rock, Wes’ life was imploding, and he finally left in 2003, for a ‘lifestyle change’ that ultimately ended him up in rehab in 2004. In rehab, he learned tools for recovery and latched onto the stories of others that had overcome their addictions, stories of people being so far down in a deadly hole, but somehow not only got sober but achieved great things. The following years found Wes as an instructor at Fusion Academy & Learning Center, an alternative school where he taught music to 6th through 12th graders who had struggled in more traditional academic settings. These same troubled students often succeeded in Fusion’s adaptive one-on-one learning environment. Geer’s love of teaching blossomed during his time. His classes served as the earliest prototype for R2R; he and one student at a time would write and play songs together. Geer said he quickly noticed “the engagement and the buy-in” the students had in these sessions was much greater than a typical ‘lesson’ as the student’s energy was transformed with hope and self-esteem while songwriting and playing music together. In 2010, Wes decided he wanted to get back into music and started praying and meditating on what that would look like. Not long after, and only because he was sober, Geer was offered the gig as a guitarist with the legendary rock band Korn. He traveled the world, performing in more than 40 countries with the multi-platinum stars, as well as appeared numerous live televised and studio recording sessions. Geer was then moved to give back, wanting to create something that could help people who struggled the same way he had. He then founded Rock to Recovery (R2R), a non-profit organization created on 12/12/12 with the purpose of providing those in various types of treatment and recovery programs the cathartic, uplifting, healing experience of connectivity through playing music. It’s a therapy Geer himself turned to after years of abusing drugs and alcohol. During his stay in rehab, he admits that music was his “most intimate friend” during his darkest days, allowing him to cope with the rollercoaster of emotions that consumed his early days in treatment. The teenage binge drinking led to alcohol poisoning seemed un-exceptional and unworrysome and his addiction went undetected by those who may have recognized it. John explains his experience taking drugs and drinking as something sublime, by altering his consciousness he felt like he would be able to understand the deeper mystery of life. Addiction is less about the substance itself and more about what is underneath the addiction, so instead of cutting back on booze John switched to marijuana becoming a connoisseur, a grower and a dealer, essentially an addict obsessed. Mixing in the party drugs of the 90s such as Ecstasy and other Hallucinogens, living a life focused on drugs and not on good choices led to mental crises, dropping out of college, homelessness, psychiatric hospitalization. John got sober in 1995 at the age of 22 and as a result of the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and other spiritual practice, today he’s a fine specimen of manhood as one could ever wish to meet being able to face his life sober successfully, transcend the lows, hold strong through the highs, and make demonstrations of the power of his spiritual practice. And he’s still a party animal. John’s philosophy is he who has the most fun wins, and now it’s just about figuring out what fun actually is.

His first bookings were The Jeffersons, Little House on the Prairie, and 1980's The Blues Brothers, where he played the role of the youth who tries to steal a guitar from Ray Charles' music store. White also played one of the boys who attempt to keep the baseball in the Neil Simon movie Max Dugan Returns. In 1984 he played Wylie, who was lynched for accidentally shooting a white sheriff in Places in the Heart. The movie received notice at the Academy Awards and White credits the role for helping provide the opportunity to do a reading with producer Joel Silver and actor Bruce Willis for 1988's Die Hard. Some of the dialogue in the film he improvised on set together with Willis. His filming schedule was spread over a three-month period. White also starred in the television series Head of the Class as Aristotle McKenzie. In 1992, he played the role of Lucky in the movie Trespass, playing the drug-addicted little brother of King James (played by Ice-T). He appeared in the 2000 drama Shadow Hours. White reprised his role as Argyle from Die Hard, alongside star Bruce Willis, in a commercial for Advance Auto Parts' DieHard brand of car batteries in October 2020. De'voreaux also goes by Dae amongst his friends and colleagues. Dae struggled for years with drug addiction and alcoholism. He ended up finally fighting off his demons and sobering up. He has long term sobriety now and is coming to the corner to talk about it. So excited to have him on.

She has a 22-year-old son who is a graduate student at UC Irvine. Her sobriety date is April 13, 2016. Her first drunk was age 15. Her first high was also age 15. These events would mark the beginning of a progressive 30-year illicit drug and alcohol binge with periods of sobriety only to lead to harder drug use, and a dismal existence. Danielle knows that it was God’s grace and mercy, that saved her from the hell she had created for herself. She has truly been transformed and uses her experiences and passion every day to pour into the lives of others. She has turned her pain into purpose and is honored and thankful that she has lived to talk about it. Danielle currently lives in Long Beach, CA. She is the worship leader at her church and an avid Prince enthusiast. She spends much of her free time traveling and going to concerts with her Prince friends.

Being A Sober Stripper & Embracing Recovery Brianna was born and raised in a small town in Pennsylvania, about two hours from Philadelphia. At the age of 14 she started experimenting with drugs. What was meant to be for fun eventually escalated into a heroin/benzo addiction and eight trips to rehab.
