As leaders, our role is to make an impact. In one form or another, we need to make an impact to be successful. But what does it mean to be a high-impact leader? Transparency is not something which is often discussed in the leadership realm. However, it is crucial to your success as a leader. Having purpose is something which we all hear about and know of but truly how many of us live our lives with purpose? Further to that, how many of us lead our organizations with purpose? Growing up, I always enjoyed camping and heading into the wilderness. There's something about it which makes people grow and develop their skills. In 2018, I celebrated my 35th birthday and of those 35 years, I have been exercising leadership for over 20 of them. Employee termination can be a sensitive subject but as a leader, it is one which you need to be prepared for. Sometimes it just does not work out. Often a leader's personnel is referred to as their greatest resource. While the premise of the statement is true, it leads leaders to be cold and heartless. Military leaders have been some of the greatest leaders of all time. However, many have been quietly leading in the shadows of their military service.
