It's been a great year so far and we can't believe we've already made it to episode 25! This week, Jess Vaira joins your hosts James and Travis to discuss the Anza Live Community Showcase and to announce a new partnership with Pacific Sound Radio. Then, get lost in a hypnotic trance as Highland Eyeway chat about their upcoming LP and put on a unique live performance.

Episode 24 sees hosts James and Travis talking with multi-instrumentalist Graham Gomez about teaching guitar, music production, and his experience playing with the folk-rock group Good For Grapes. Then feature guests Troy Gilmour and Connor Brooks from Chase The Bear jump in to the studio to talk band history and unleash some serious rock and roll.

This week brings not one but two incredible musicians in to the studio as we kick things off and gain some insight in to the life of cellist and composer Alex Hauka! Then, the second half of our show has hosts Travis and James chatting with Hotel Mira frontman Charlie Kerr about his songwriting approach, future plans and what his transition was like from his former group JPNSGRLS.

Episode 22 is here! This week, hosts James and Travis gain some insight in to the life of Jason Lawrence. Jason is a radio personality and host of The Medicine Show which is a multi-media variety show, featuring live music, and industry guests on CiTR 101.9FM. When he's not on the air, Jason is writing his own music and bringing awareness to important issues surrounding the health of indigenous people through film. Our second hour brings soul pop artist Marlie Collins in to the studio. Marlie sheds some light on how she got involved in the industry, her career as a vocal coach and voice actor, and what her experience was like recording her debut LP earlier this year.

This week’s episode features promoter and artist manager Kassia Edwards alongside neo soul/indie pop act Gentle Mind. Fresh off their EP release show, Gentle Mind chat all about their journey as a group and what their plans are for the future. This week on Pacific Sound Radio, we speak with Mint Records' own Ryan Dyck all about the history, and challenges involved in running your own independent record label. More firsts for Episode 18! We're proud to unveil the debut installment of a new segment we like to call the PSR Studio Series featuring Dan Ponich and Andy Schichter, the talented lads behind Park Sound Studio located in North Vancouver. Our featured guest is vocal trio The Heels. We had a lot of fun talking all things country with Bobbi Smith, Brittni Dominelli, and Kyla Rawlins and had the chance to hear new material off of their debut LP Love, Heels live in the studio.

At Pacific Sound Radio, we like to keep things as diverse and dynamic as we can and Episode 15 was no exception. On this episode we bring you a riveting recap of the Hip Hoppy Easter Locals Lounge showcase featuring a wealth of emerging talent in Vancouver’s hip hop scene. Episode 12 was absolutely jam packed. We had a chance to chat with Shannon Hemmett from the post-punk/darkwave band ACTORS about songwriting and the band's upcoming new record. Then, featured guest Leisure Club joined us in the studio where we learned about the creation of their new album and got to enjoy some tasty live jams.

Walking the line between artist, recording engineer, and producer isn't easy. Finding time to sit down and talk about all that? Even harder. Thankfully, this week's guest was nice enough to set some time aside and bring his music industry expertise in to the booth with us this week. Travis Dean is a man of many talents and has been wearing different hats for some time now. Between writing, recording and producing two new EPs on his own, Travis has also been operating a local studio known as Unbiased Media. Hosts James Olson and Travis Noel spoke with him about how his journey in the music industry began and discussed some key tips for anyone who's just beginning their music career.

This week we dive right into our interview with Ian Cromwell. Ian Cromwell is the creator and host of Locals Lounge, a local music showcase featuring live performances and interview segments held at The Belmont Bar on Sundays once a month. Our featured guest was Sam Herle who performs as a solo folk artist under the moniker Elf Pity and provides vocals for the band Duck. We had the chance to hear a selection of Sam’s original material and learn about the recording process for the new Elf Pity EP.

A lot goes in to creating a podcast…A topic, great guests, a couple of questions to get the conversation going, and A LOT of editing. Our episodes don’t always sound perfect, but we try our best to ensure it sounds as good as possible. With each episode we release the perfectionist in us has always had a few qualms. So, when the opportunity arose to do Pacific Sound Radio raw, uncut, and live on the air it seemed a pretty intimidating. How are we supposed to sound as perfect as possible now? The point is, we don't. So here it is, every awkward moment, sneeze, cough, stupid joke, and more. All live in studio every Sunday from 4pm-6pm. And it all wouldn't be possible without the support of the incredible team at Save on Radio, station creator and local entrepreneur Mark Brand as well as the passion for local music that comes from all of us here at Pacific Sound Radio. With that being said, we bring you the the next chapter…Welcome to Episode 6.This episode features Save on Radio's Creative Theory host Ilya Viryachev who chats with James and Travis about how all of this began, and where he fits in to the world of art, design and launching his own radio show. We also get to follow up with Mark Lingelbach, creator of Lambsbreath. We learn about how he's expanded his sound throughout his releases. He also treats us to a few songs, live in studio!

This year brought all sorts of great releases from local to international acts. Pacific Sound Radio brings you their favourites in this inaugural "Best Of" episode with a new host, new direction, and some incredible bands.

Episode 4 brings a one-on-one interview with Lambsbreath frontman Mark Lingelbach. James Olson had the chance to speak with Mark about all the different projects that he has on the go, including a comic series and his first ever rap album.

Episode 3 features two-piece rockers Smash Boom Pow. Brothers Zane and Ulysses Coppard shed some light on how they have been able to work so well as a creative unit, their new single "Way Too Much", and their plans for their next release.

Episode 2 has Douse joining the Pacific Sound Radio team for this latest episode. Alea Clark, Patrick Farrugia, & Jeremiah Ackermann of Douse discuss what went into recording their debut record, keeping themselves sane on tour, and soap making!

Episode 1 has co-hosts James Olson and Jaeden Froese catching up with local act Wind-Up Birds. Between a new record, denim hula skirts, and the subject of dad rock, Wind-Up Birds (with Sam Willett, Matthew Okuda, & Atley King) brought a few new ideas to our inaugural episode.
