After a brief hiatus, Pacific Sound Radio is back on a semi-regular basis this summer. Yung Heazy a.k.a. Jordan Heaney along with band mates Pierce Kingan and Chris Bede join us in our first our to talk the viral sensation that was his debut single "Cuz You're My Girl," adventures on the road, and his upcoming acoustic EP. Later, modern pop rockers The Faceplants belt some tunes, give us the break down on developing a band's brand, and what it takes to be a musical entrepreneur.

On our last weekly episode for a little while, Travis and James celebrate Pacific Sound Radio's fruitful partnership with Locals Lounge with highlights from their April 2019 showcase featuring the smooth stylings of fusion act Sound of Kalima and rapper/producer Ekke. In our second half, your hosts are joined by soul/R&B artist IAMTHELIVING to dive deep into his infectious debut single "Two Trips Around The Sun", his collaborative relationship with Grammy winning producer Chin Injeti, his upcoming first EP, and his premiere appearance on Locals Lounge.

A belated Happy Mother's Day from the Pacific Sound Radio team! Travis and James are joined by acoustic rock artist Bryan Michael as we revisit his pop punk past, dive deep into his new EP Distractions, and speculate on future projects. Happy belated May the Fourth and Cinco de Mayo! Travis and James talk alt country with Adrienne Nye and Chris Olson of Fallow State. French Canadian vocalist/blues guitarist Caroline Allatt joins the show in the second hour to chat growing up in a family of French Canadian musicians, blues rock, her worst gig ever and much more!

On our 70th episode, Travis and James celebrate the launch of Glitter Ball, a two day festival celebrating feminist art and culture. Zambian born/Montreal based rapper Backxwash calls in to chat agency, rhyme schemes, witchcraft and more. Indie R&B/pop artist Biawanna joins us in our second half to discuss her alt rock roots, personal yet universal lyrics, and future collaborations.

Travis and James spend Easter Sunday with singer/songwriter Raene a.k.a. Rachael Schroeder. Listen in as we learn more about Raene's upcoming sophomore EP, the importance of marketing for an independent artist, synesthesia, and much more!

Happy Holidays from Pacific Sound Radio! Alexi Johnson joins Travis and James for our final Pacific Sound Profile for 2018 to talk about her experience with Blue Light Studio and 604 Records. The Prettys take center stage in the second hour to promote their delectable upcoming third record Tapas.

Travis and James chat with Harley Small and Sam Lynch. Harley Small is a multi-instrumentalist and sound engineer who draws from a wide range of influences including synth pop, noise rock, and folk. Sam Lynch is a rising alt-folk singer/songwriter who has extensively toured North America and Europe in support of her blossoming solo career.

Happy 50th episode! Join James and Travis as they celebrate this milestone with videographer/photographer Brandon Fletcher and alt rock inspired singer/songwriter Kel Roman.

Episode 48 sees James and Travis spending time with a seasoned pro and a fresh young band. Kevin Schallie is a promoter, booker, and event planner with Live Acts Canada and The Live Agency. Mind Offline are a Latin influenced indie rock band that has taken great strides in their first year as a group.

Pacific Sound Radio are always pleased to see young and talented individuals taking charge to improve the local music scene. In our first hour, James Barrington-Foote talks about his work as a independent promoter and show planner under the name Groceries. Then, singer/songwriter Quinn Pickering talks his fantastic debut record, his impressive live band, and why sadness makes for the best music.

On this Double Feature episode, James and Travis are joined by Clay Ravens and Matt Storm. Clay Ravens are a high energy, foot stomping unit that blends folk, rock, country, and Americana. Matt Storm is a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer who plays intimate soul with an indie twist.

On this rock n roll double header, hosts James and Travis chat with Daniel James, leader of the progressive funk rock ensemble Brass Camel, and Justice McLellan of the indie rock quartet Blue J.

Episode 44 sees hosts James and Travis joined by music industry veteran Gary Taylor along with Alexis Young and Louis Wu from the synth/dream rock quintet Blonde Diamond.

On this episode, Travis and James are joined by Ed Lam and Stephanie Ratcliff. Ed Lam is the vocalist/guitarist for Cry Of Silence and hosts live band karaoke with his covers band The Naturals at venues across Vancouver. Stephanie Ratcliff is an award-winning indie folk pop singer songwriter.

Happy Thanksgiving from Pacific Sound Radio! For this episode we are joined by Jeff Ojeda of Harmonic Concepts and Phase Management and the eclectic folk rock band Dangertree.

On Episode 41, James and Travis are joined by a pair of inspiring women doing standout work in the local music scene. Mati Cormier of Cushy Entertainment talks her past, present, and future as an independent promoter and live show booker. Alternative folk artist Candace Coker dives deep into lyrical themes, the power of language, and the therapeutic power of songwriting.

On this special Double Feature episode, hosts James and Travis are joined by guitarist Travis Goeres of the psychedelic pop act Ponytails. Then, things get snug in the studio as Pacific Sound Radio chats with Surrey based indie-rock band Sleepy Gonzales.

Episode 38 sees Travis and James joined by Travis James and Little Destroyer. Travis James is the curator and host of Vancity Studio. Little Destroyer are a dance rock trio that has taken their energetic live show across North America.

Episode 37 features Loneka Miller and Andrew Phelan. Loneka Miller is a live sound technician who has worked the Surrey Fusion Festival, the Regina Folk Festival, and the Vancouver Folk Festival. Andrew Phelan is an Australian born, Vancouver based singer/songwriter who has released two albums with The River and The Road and two solo EPs with a third release set for 2019. Andrew Phelan will be one of many BC based artists taking the stage for the 2018 Skookum Festival.

Episode 36 features Cody Taylor and Haley Blais. Cody Taylor is an audio engineer and producer with the Fiend Recordings collective. Haley Blais is a folk-pop singer/songwriter and an emerging local talent. Her latest EP Let Yourself Go is one of Pacific Sound Radio's favourite releases of 2018.

For Episode 35, James and Travis chat with Matt MacDonald and Patrick Spencer. Matt MacDonald is a videographer and producer who has released music by Catrina Marie and Reid Zakos under the moniker McDazed Productions. Patrick Spencer is the vocalist/rhythm guitarist for Coldwater Road and is a longtime veteran of Vancouver indie-folk scene.

On this episode, James and Travis are joined by Paul Boechler and Emma Citrine. Paul Boechler works as an audio artist for EA Games who has done notable work on the FIFA and Need for Speed franchises. He is one of the co-founders of Fader Master Studios and has recently been assembling an in-house sound library. Emma Citrine is a folk singer/songwriter whose music is distinguished by its haunting minimalism and emotional vulnerability. Her latest EP Shadowless is available now.

Pacific Sound Radio is all about forging collaborative relationships in the community to help support our local bands and artists. That's why we are very excited to announce a new partnership on this week's Pacific Sound Profile as we chat with Claire Baker host of the Root Dwellers Community Showcase. Our featured guest is singer/songwriter Maria Cenzina who joins James and Travis to talk about her recent entry into the Vancouver music scene, collaborating with Teon Gibbs, and her debut EP.

Episode 32 is up, and we couldn't be more stoked for this week's guests! Year of the Wolf's very own Chad Gilmour kicks things off as he chats with hosts James and Travis about the recording process behind the band's LP, the benefits of grant writing, and more. Then, 2018's Breakout West Pop Artist of the Year nominee, Jasper Sloan Yip jumps on the air and delivers a stellar rendition of Arcade Fire's "Cars and Telephones" alongside an intimate cover of "Ivy" by Frank Ocean. This week we hear from Music Heals Community Outreach Manager Zoe Peled, who spoke with our producer Jaeden Froese. Then James and Travis are joined by Missy D and Sejal from the music collective Laydy Jams to chat about their sound, their debut EP, and the unique character of the Vancouver hip hop scene.

It's our 30th episode and hosts James and Travis kick things off with this week's Pacific Sound Profile guest, Rickshaw Theatre Owner and GM Mo Tarmohamed! Then, we get heavy with rockers Redwoods as they reign in the second half of our show with some catchy acoustic numbers and a chat about their latest EP "Study Night".

On this special Canada Day broadcast, James and Travis are joined by Locals Lounge host, loop artist, and friend of the show Ian Cromwell to discuss his story gigging around the Vancouver music scene, new recorded material, and what the future has in store for Locals Lounge.
