Brian Jubb has done a beautiful restoration of a 1923 Peugeot Van.
In our conversation he revealed:
The block and the head in the engine are one solid lump of iron, not separate castings.
An engine that does not have an exhaust manifold, petrol pump, oil pump and the petrol is drip feed into the motor.
Maximum Speed 60-65 km/hr
First gear is very low but is needed to be especially if the engine is cold
Pushing the gear lever up gets first gear – pushing it further gets reverse!
Why little vans were a critical part of post-WWI development.
