Orange and Brown Report: A Cleveland Browns Podcast

The Cleveland Browns are underachieving but let's make sure we are hitting all the guilty parties. The quarterback is old, and not mobile in anyway at all. The offensive line is old, and not moving with much athleticism. The passing concepts are strange as hell considering the coverages they are consistently facing. Special teams, yeah issues there. The defense can not be considered elite when you have a secondary performing as poorly as this one is, elite defenses do not allow four passing touchdowns. The Cleveland Browns roll into Baltimore to face the Ravens in a great situation. Nobody thinks you're going to win but if you compete or god forbid pull out a win the league will be on notice. Quinshon Judkins shouldn't return as the Browns will most likely struggle to run so after all the rookies debuted well don't put him in a spot to fail out of the gate. Go for the knock out early. The Cleveland Browns are not intimidated by the Baltimore Ravens, their talk actually sounds more of a confident level. If the Browns feel disrespected and like they are being trolled then let's hope we see an effort of Sunday of 53 standing as one. Quishon Judkins got his first practice in in three months on Thursday, it should be one more week until he gets to play though the Browns can handle it without him until he is fully up to speed. The Baltimore Ravens in hosting their 30th anniversary against the Browns feels like a troll job, because it is. It also feels like a dumb troll job, why aggravate this team who is viewed as a lesser opponent according to the betting line. The Browns will have a running back decision to make as soon as they deem Quinshon Judkins is ready but my bet is that Raheim "Rocket" Sanders remains on the 53 man roster. They wouldn't have given him the role in the opener that they did if they aren't invested in him. The Cleveland Browns fanbase is like no other, so writer Dan Moore spent time in Cleveland for ESPN and got the full Cleveland experience to understand just how this fanbase who does not see championship games, cares for their team like no other. Browns fans literally consider the team family, the ride the little highs together they suffer through the lows together. Dan's time in Cleveland ended up being an ode to the fanbase that deserves it all but would settle for consistency. The Cleveland Browns suffered a difficult loss on Sunday to the Cincinnati Bengals but what made it a bad loss should have Browns fans excited. Joe Flacco showed he can handle this offense this season before a three-quarterback0 battle begins next May. Sampson and Fannin are day one contributors extending the talent pool of producers. Carson Schwesinger is going to be an NFL household name. The running game needs a ton of work, and Quinshon Judkins alone is not going to fix it. We all wanted Hopkins out at kicker we can't criticize the guy we wanted over him after one week. The Cleveland Browns had a lot of good things go on for them in their opener against the Cincinnati Bengals. Joe Flacco played well, almost all of their rookies contributed, Myles Garrett was Myles Garrett. However two tipped passes were turned into interceptions, and the new kicker left four points on the board as the Browns fell 17-16 at home. The Cleveland browns 2025 season is set to take off Sunday at 1 PM eastern at home against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals offense is a juiced up group but with an average offensive line it has always been a group that Browns defenses can play with. Joe Flacco and the offense need to get Jerry Jeudy and the run game going to keep the Cincinnati defense on its heels and to keep the defense fresh. The Browns will take a week 1 victory over the Bengals. To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. The latest Cleveland browns news in regard to the injury report, Myles Garrett not practicing is nothing to concern ourselves with yet. The Bengals are a team that Cleveland has always matched up well with, the Browns strengths are the Bengals weaknesses-.If the Browns play well it will be in part of their youth which is probably the top storyline of this team headed into week one. The Cleveland Browns begin the 2025 season in five days, but for most of the fandom the 2024 season hangover hasn't been recovered from yet. The negativity about this team that hasn't even taken a down yet seems strange. Yes, the team has no real long term answer at the quarterback position but there are a lot of young players who could be immediate contributors in 2025. Let's grade this as it goes. The Cleveland Browns are set and ready to go into week one starting on Labor Day. The 53 man roster and practice squad are set. The overall feel for this team is probably higher than when training camp began, there are certainly some positives with this team, as well as negatives. The team is a nice blend of older veterans and upstart younger players any levels of success they can reach will come as a team. The Cleveland Browns hit the waiver wire on Wednesday, we got the positional targets right but missed on the actual players. The Browns claimed Jarrick Bernard-Converse corner back with a high athletic profile and running back Raheim "Rocket" Sanders who was with the Chargers this summer. They also added two really interesting names to the practice squad wide receiver Malachi Corley who is in his second year and needs some NFL fine tuning in regards to the route tree and Cole Strange a former Patriots first round pick who could be of value to Cleveland now and in 2026. The on again off again conversation about whether or not the Cleveland Browns would keep four quarterbacks died when the Browns traded Kenny Pickett to the Las Vegas Raiders. Pickett missed almost all of camp and never really got to compete and allowed rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders to impress the staff. The first 53 man roster is out and there are some minor surprises that will almost certainly have moves to clarify them by end of league day on Wednesday. Host Jeff Lloyd is joined by Jacob Roach. The Cleveland Browns need to have their 53 man roster official by four pm Tuesday, moves have been made and to this point the only real surprise is the cornerback position where they moved on from five guys. With training camp ending the Browns now should be vindicated for having Dillon Gabriel over Shedeur Sanders. Running back, wide receiver and cornerback are all position to be monitoring as far as roster movement. The Cleveland browns surprised many during training camp and the preseason playing better than most people felt the team was going to look. Joe Flacco ran away and hid as the starter as all the other quarterbacks dealt with some missed time due to injuries. Dillon Gabriel closed out preseason strong and could seriously be viewed as the teams back-up as opposed the the number three or four quarterback. The running game, a Kevin Stefanski staple is a complete unknown to this point. Jim Schwartz's defense looks to be a lot more on par with the '23 team than the '24 team. The Cleveland Browns and head coach Kevin Stefanski can use all the catchy cliches they want, no one is in agreement with them that Dillon Gabriel is the better rookie quarterback at this point. There's no doubting that Joe Flacco should be the starter but if something were to happen to him it feels the best guy will not be next in line. The Cleveland Browns made a trade on Wednesday sending second year defensive tackle Jawon Briggs to the New York Jets in a pick swap, turning a 2026 7th round pick into a 2026 6th round pick. Kenny Pickett has been ruled out for the preseason finale, Pickett has had a tough camp getting no real chance due to injury. Shedeur Sanders returned to practice in a limited capacity and the plan is he can progress to playing some in the finale Saturday against the Los Angelas Rams. PFF's John Kosko joins the show to break down Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel's on field play both have played well and both have area's that need improvement. The reserve offensive lineman's efforts through two preseason games. The defensive line should get Jim Schwartz's defense back to the 2023 form. The secondary needs some help, cornerback lacks experience and the safety room needs a true free safety. The OBR's Jeff Lloyd gives you his roster thoughts as the Cleveland browns turn their sights to the final week of preseason. The status of the rookie quarterbacks and who should play in the finale. the wide receiver room pecking order which has changed with the signing of Isaiah Bond. The crazy depth of the defensive line. The cornerback room which certainly needs some fresh blood it would appear. The OBR crew takes a look at today's matchup between the Cleveland Browns and the Philadelphia Eagles, including a strong performance from Dillon Gabriel in his battle against fellow rookie Shedeur Sanders. Gabriel played fast and on time, threw a catchable accurate ball. There were mistakes but nothing that wouldn't be expected from a rookie playing with new personal. The defense was stout again and Jim Schwartz may have the deepest defensive line in his time here in Cleveland. The Cleveland Browns after getting positive news on Quinshon Judkins were linked to another rookie with legal issues in Isaiah Bond. Bond, without the off-field concerns is certainly an interesting target for a team the could use some more juice at the wide receiver position. However he comes with a public black eye that Browns fans are getting tired of. Dillon Gabriel if he goes on Saturday has a huge opportunity he can take advantage of, if he can't go or plays poorly this quarterback battle is over in Cleveland. The Cleveland Browns had a very good Thursday. The team showed extremely well on both sides of the ball against the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles. Joe Flacco and the tight ends were cooking, and the browns defensive line gave Philly all they could handle. Late in the day the word dropped that the prosecutors office in Florida is no longer pursuing any charges against rookie running Quinshon Judkins citing no witness' and video evidence that did not show the alleged injuries claimed against Judkins.
