It's Monday December 3, 2018. Welcome back, everyone. On today's show, we talk about pilot medical issues and keep chipping away at the feedback! "Tango Mike, The Fire Truck Guy" sent in some great audio feedback about controller's diagnosing pilot's with medical emergencies. How do controllers train to recognize these events and more importantly, how do the controllers help the pilot's in need? What happens when a pilot demonstrates diminished mental capacity or shows signs of hypoxia or possible intoxication? Audio from a distressed/hypoxic pilot and interaction with ATC. Audio from an incident involving a drunk pilot and ATC recognizing the problem and alerting authorities. Great job, ATC! The controllers were honored at the Archie League Awards banquet in September.
