Shane is an Author of the book 'I Didn't Want to Die, I Just Wanted the Pain to End' as-well as a Mental health Advocate, Public Speaker., and Personal Trainer.
Within today's episode we discussed Shane's journey from mental health and suicide to his wellness journey and practical solutions.
Shane talks through the journey of experiencing mental health challenges and suicide ideation from a young age which led to his suicide attempt. Shane talks about the important role that community and awareness plays into supporting people with mental illness.
Shane opens up about the positive affects from becoming vulnerable about his mental health, stating how it's helped people to become open about their own mental health.
This just shows when we speak open to people we trust about our mental health, what positive affect that can lead into for other people to also talk about the challenges they face and to get support.
Shane speaks on the process of writing his book and the work he's done in the mental health field.
