久しぶりに地元に帰ってきたという友達も何人回かいたので、一人ずつ近所を言う流れになった。
「私は、横浜に住んでるよー会社が近いんだ」
「あ、転職したんだ？」
「そうそう！今はね、服飾系の会社！前の職場は人間関係がちょっとね」
「私はね、結婚して、埼玉にいるよ。仕事は前と同じ！」
「私はご覧のどおり、チビができて会社は育休中だよ。」
ユカリが言い、私の番になった。
「私はコンビニでアルバイトしてる。身体が。。。」
いつも通り、妹の作ってくれた言い訳を続けようとすると、その前にエリが身を乗り出した。
「ああ、パート？結婚したんだねーいつ？」
当然のようにエリが言うので、
「ううん、してないよ」と答えた。
「あの、え、それなのにアルバイト？」

Since there were several friends who had returned to their hometown after a long time, we started taking turns to talk about our neighborhoods.
「私は、横浜に住んでるよー会社が近いんだ」
"I live in Yokohama now. It's close to my workplace."
「あ、転職したんだ？」
"Oh, did you change jobs?"
「そうそう！今はね、服飾系の会社！前の職場は人間関係がちょっとね」
"Yeah, yeah! Right now, I'm working at a company in the fashion field! The previous workplace had some issues with human relationships."
「私はね、結婚して、埼玉にいるよ。仕事は前と同じ！」
"I got married and now I'm in Saitama. I'm still doing the same job!"
「私はご覧のどおり、チビができて会社は育休中だよ。」
"As you can see, I have a little one, so I'm on maternity leave from work."
ユカリが言い、私の番になった。
After Yumiko spoke, it was my turn.
「私はコンビニでアルバイトしてる。身体が。。。」
"I work part-time at a convenience store. My body..."
いつも通り、妹の作ってくれた言い訳を続けようとすると、その前にエリが身を乗り出した。
Just as I was about to continue with the excuse my sister had prepared for me, Eri leaned forward.
「ああ、パート？結婚したんだねーいつ？」
"Oh, part-time? But you got married, right? When?"
当然のようにエリが言うので、
Eri said it as if it were obvious.
「ううん、してないよ」と答えた。
"No, I didn't get married," I replied.
「あの、え、それなのにアルバイト？」
"Um, so, even though you didn't get married, you're working part-time?"
