月曜日の朝、お店に行くと、シフト表に赤いバツ印が付けられていて、白羽さんの名前が消されていた。急に休みをとったのかと持っていると、時間になって現れたのは休みのはずの泉さんだった。
「おはようございます！あ、店長、白羽さんどうかしたんですか？」
夜勤明けの店長がバックルーム入ってきたので尋ねると、店長と泉さんは顔を見合わせて、「ああ、白羽さんね」苦笑いをした。
「昨日ちょっと面談してね。もうシフト入れないことになった」
店長はこともなげに言い、私はどこかで、ああ、やっぱり、と思っていた。
「サポ利、廃棄のこっそり食いまではまあ、駄目だけど見逃してたんだけど、お客の女性、ほら常連の、前にに日傘の忘れ物取りに来た人、なんかあの人にストーカーっぱくなってきてたみたいでさ、宅配便に書いてある電話番号を写メ撮ったり、家の場所知ろうとしたりいんだよ。泉さんがきが付いて、俺もすぐビデオチェックしてさ。面談して、辞めてもらった」
バカだなあ、と私は思った。小さなルールを破る店員はいるが、ここまで酷い話はあまり聞きたことがない。警察沙汰にならなかっただけマシだと思った。

On Monday morning, when I went to the store, there were red crosses on the shift schedule, and Shirahara-san name had been erased.
急に休みをとったのかと持っていると、時間になって現れたのは休みのはずの泉さんだった。
I wondered if she had suddenly taken the day off, but the one who showed up on time was supposed to have the day off, Izumi-san.
「おはようございます！あ、店長、白羽さんどうかしたんですか？」
"Good morning! Oh, Manager, is something wrong with Shirahara-sann?"
夜勤明けの店長がバックルーム入ってきたので尋ねると、店長と泉さんは顔を見合わせて、「ああ、白羽さんね」苦笑いをした。
When the manager, who had just finished the night shift, entered the back room, I asked him. The manager and Izumi-san exchanged glances and gave a wry smile, "Oh, it's Shirahara-san."
「昨日ちょっと面談してね。もうシフト入れないことになった」
"I had a little talk with him yesterday. He won't be scheduled for shifts anymore."
店長はこともなげに言い、私はどこかで、ああ、やっぱり、と思っていた。
The manager said it casually, and somewhere inside, I thought, "Ah, I see."

Support, he had been discreetly eating discarded items, which is not allowed, but we had overlooked that. However, it seems he was getting somewhat stalker-like towards a female customer, you know, a regular who had come to retrieve her forgotten umbrella before. He took pictures of the phone number written on the delivery package, and he even tried to find out where the customer lives. Izumi-san noticed it, and I immediately checked the security footage. After the discussion, he decided to quit..

I thought, "What a fool," but while there are employees who break small rules, I hadn't heard such a terrible story before. I felt it was fortunate that it didn't turn into a police matter.
