自分が働いているのに、職業を差別している人も、ちらほらいる。私はつい白羽さんの顔を見てしまった。
何を見下している人は、時に目の形が面白くなる。そこに、反論に対する怯えや警戒、もしくは、反発してくるなら受けたってやるぞという交戦的な光が宿っている場合もあれば、無意識に見下しているときは、優越感の混ざった恍惚とした快楽でできた液体に目玉が浸り、膜が張っている場合もある。
私は白羽さんの瞳を覗き込んだ。そこには単純な差別感情があるだけで、ごくシンプルな形をしていた。
私の視線を感じたのか、白羽さんが口を開いた。奥の根元が横ばんでいて、黒いところもある。奥医者に長いこと行っていないのかもしれなかった。
「威張り散らしてるけど、こんな小さな店のやとわれ店長って、それ、負け組ですよね。底辺が威張ってんじゃねえよ。糞野郎。。。」
言葉だけを拾う激しいが、小さな声で咳いているだけなので、何だかヒステリーを見ている感じがしない。差別する人には私から見ると２種類あって、差別への衝動や欲望を内部に持っている人と、どこかで聞いたことを受け売りして、何も考え（７１）ずに差別用語を蓮発しているだけの人だ。

* そこに、反論に対する怯えや警戒、もしくは、反発してくるなら受けたってやるぞという交戦的な光が宿っている場合もあれば、無意識に見下しているときは、優越感の混ざった恍惚とした快楽でできた液体に目玉が浸り、膜が張っている場合もある。 In some cases, there are signs of fear or caution in response to objections, or a hostile readiness for confrontation. On the other hand, when unconsciously looking down on someone, there can be a sense of pleasure mixed with superiority, as if the eyes are immersed in a liquid, and a membrane forms.
* 私は白羽さんの瞳を覗き込んだ。 I peered into Shiraha's eyes.
* そこには単純な差別感情があるだけで、ごくシンプルな形をしていた。 There was nothing more than a simple sense of discrimination, and it took a very basic form.
* 私の視線を感じたのか、白羽さんが口を開いた。 Perhaps sensing my gaze, Shiraha opened his mouth.
* 奥の根元が横ばんでいて、黒いところもある。奥医者に長いこと行っていないのかもしれなかった。 At the back, the base was horizontally spread, and there were some black parts. Maybe he hadn't been to the doctor for a long time.
* 「威張り散らしてるけど、こんな小さな店のやとわれ店長って、それ、負け組ですよね。底辺が威張ってんじゃねえよ。糞野郎。。。」 "You act all high and mighty, but being the manager of a small store like this, you're a loser, aren't you? Don't get cocky, you piece of s**t..."
* 言葉だけを拾う激しいが、小さな声で咳いているだけなので、何だかヒステリーを見ている感じがしない。 He uses strong words, but he's just coughing in a low voice, so it doesn't feel like witnessing hysteria.
* 差別する人には私から見ると２種類あって、差別への衝動や欲望を内部に持っている人と、どこかで聞いたことを受け売りして、何も考えずに差別用語を蓮発しているだけの人だ。From my perspective, there are two types of people who discriminate: those who have an internal impulse or desire for discrimination, and those who parrot discriminatory language they've heard somewhere without thinking.
