「そうそれ、私も見ましたー」
二人の会話に私は驚いて尋ねた。
「え、勤務中にですか？」
携帯をバイト中に持ち歩かないのは、基本的なルールだ。何でそんな簡単なことを破ってしまうのか私には理解できなった。
「俺、自分がいない時間は、いつも軽く防犯カメラチェックするじゃん？白羽さんは新人だし、どんなもんかなと思って見てたんだよね。表向きはそれなりにゃてるんだけど、ちょっとサポり癖があるみたいなんだよねー」
「きが付かなくてすみません」
「いやいや、古倉さんが謝ることじゃないから。古倉さん、最近時に声かけ頑張ってくれてるねー。カメラ見てても、お、すごい頑張ってるなって感じ。えらいよー。古倉さんは毎日勤務なのにてを抜かないからねー！」
８人目の店長は、私が「コンビニ」へ向かっていつでも祈り続けていることを、その場にいないときもちゃんと見てくれている。
「ありがとうございます！」
「そうそれ、私も見ましたー」 "Yep, I saw it too,"
二人の会話に私は驚いて尋ねた。 I was surprised by their conversation and asked,
「え、勤務中にですか？」 "Huh, during work?"
携帯をバイト中に持ち歩かないのは、基本的なルールだ。何でそんな簡単なことを破ってしまうのか私には理解できなった。 It's a basic rule not to carry your mobile phone while working. I couldn't understand why he would break such a simple rule.
「俺、自分がいない時間は、いつも軽く防犯カメラチェックするじゃん？白羽さんは新人だし、どんなもんかなと思って見てたんだよね。表向きはそれなりにゃてるんだけど、ちょっとサポり癖があるみたいなんだよねー」 "I always do a quick security camera check when I'm not around, you know? Since Shiraha-san is a newbie, I was curious about him. He seems fine on the surface, but he seems to have a bit of a habit of assisting."
「きが付かなくてすみません」 "I'm sorry I didn't notice."
「いやいや、古倉さんが謝ることじゃないから。古倉さん、最近時に声かけ頑張ってくれてるねー。カメラ見てても、お、すごい頑張ってるなって感じ。えらいよー。古倉さんは毎日勤務なのにてを抜かないからねー！」 "No, no, there's no need for you to apologize, Furukura-san. You've been making an effort to speak up when necessary recently. Even when I watch the cameras, I can tell you're really trying. Good job! You work every day and never slack off!"
８人目の店長は、私が「コンビニ」へ向かっていつでも祈り続けていることを、その場にいないときもちゃんと見てくれている。 The eighth store manager appreciates that I'm always praying for the convenience store, even when he's not around.
「ありがとうございます！」 "Thank you very much!" I responded…
