何を基準に自分の身体を動かしていいのかわからなくなっていた。今までは、働いていない時間も、私の身体はコンビニのものだった。健康的に働くために眠り、体調を整え、栄養を摂る。それも私の仕事のうちだった。
白羽さんは相変わらず浴槽で眠り、昼の間は部屋で食事をしたり求人広告を見たりと、自分は働いていた時よりよほど活き活きと動き回って生活しているようだった。私は昼夜間わず眠くなるので、押入れの中に布団をを敷きっぱなしにして、お腹がすくと外に出ていくようになったいた。
喉が渇いていることに気が付き、水道を捻ってコップに水を汲み、一気に飲み干した。ふと、人間の身体の水は二週間はどで入れ替わるとどこかで聞いたことを思い出す。毎朝コンビニで買いっていた水はもう身体から流れで定期、皮膚の湿り気も、目玉の上に膜を振っている水も、もうコンビニのものではなくなっているのだろうか、と思った。
コップを持ったての指にも、腕にも、黒々とした毛が生えている。今までは、コンビニの為に身だしなみ整えていたが、その必要がなくなって、けを剃る必要性も（１４８）感じなくなったのだ。

I was doing nothing else except for the task of writing my resume as instructed by Shiraha-san.

I didn't know what criteria to use for moving my body. Until now, even during my non-working hours, my body belonged to the convenience store. Sleeping, maintaining my health, and getting proper nutrition were all part of my job.

Shiraha continued to sleep in the bathtub as usual, and during the day, he seemed much more lively and active than when he was working. I, on the other hand, felt sleepy day and night, so I left my futon spread out in the closet and would go outside when I got hungry.

I suddenly noticed my throat was dry and turned on the tap to fill a glass with water. I recalled hearing somewhere that the water in the human body is completely replaced every two weeks. I wondered if the water I used to buy at the convenience store every morning was no longer part of my body, and whether the moisture in my skin and the fluid covering my eyeballs were no longer the same as what came from the convenience store.

I noticed that there were dark hairs growing on the back of my hand and on my arms as I held the glass. I used to groom myself meticulously for the convenience store job, but now that it was no longer necessary, I no longer felt the need to shave.
