皆、初めて私が本当の「仲間」になったと言わんばかりだった。こちら側へようこそ、と皆が私を歓迎している気がした。
今まで私は皆にとって、「あちら側」の人間だったんだな、と痛感しながら、皆が唾を飛ばして話し続けるのを「なるほど！」と菅原さんの言い方でハキハキと頭きながら聞いていた。
白羽さんを飼い始め、コンビニでの私はさらに順調だった。ただ、白羽さんの分の食費がかかる。今まで休んでいた金曜と日曜もこれからはシフトを入れてもらおうかと考えると、ますます身体がよく動いた。
外のゴミを片付けてバックルームに行くと、夜勤明けでちょうど店長がシフトを作っているところだったので、何気なく声をかけた。
「あの店長、金曜日と日曜日って埋まってますか？稼ぎたいんで、もっと働けるとうれしんですが」

While everyone talked animatedly, I listened attentively, nodding along with Mr. Sugawara's "I see!" expression.
白羽さんを飼い始め、コンビニでの私はさらに順調だった。After I started keeping Shiraha-san, things were going even better for me at the convenience store.
ただ、白羽さんの分の食費がかかる。However, there were food expenses for Shiraha-san.
今まで休んでいた金曜と日曜もこれからはシフトを入れてもらおうかと考えると、ますます身体がよく動いた。When I considered adding shifts on Fridays and Sundays, which I had previously taken off, my body felt even more energetic.
外のゴミを片付けてバックルームに行くと、夜勤明けでちょうど店長がシフトを作っているところだったので、何気なく声をかけた。When I finished cleaning up the trash outside and went to the back room, the store manager happened to be creating the shift schedule after the night shift, so I casually spoke up.「あの店長、金曜日と日曜日って埋まってますか？稼ぎたいんで、もっと働けるとうれしんですが」
"Excuse me, Manager. Are the shifts on Fridays and Sundays fully scheduled? I'd like to earn more, so I'd be happy to work more."
