Oklahoma Archery talks with Tom Stevenson
WOW, This conversation has been on my radar from day one of this podcast. We are talking with Tom Stevenson. He is the President of Stevenson Analytics and the developer of the ArcheryPath Performance Analytics & Equipment Tuning Optimization platform, after of over 50 years of experience in Olympic Recurve archery. He holds a BS in Engineering and an MBA in Entrepreneurship. He has spent over 30 years in software development and engineering consulting, working with such companies as Boeing, Allied Signal, and Easton. Along with George Tekmitchov, he was part of the design team that developed the Easton X10 arrow shaft. He has served as President of USA Archery, a USOC board member, and a board member for the NAA Foundation. As a competitive archer he has represented the USA internationally, has been on the USAT many times as a collegiate, senior and as a Master. He has won over 20 national championships during his competitive career. He is a Level IV NTS coach and currently coaches the Oklahoma Storm JOAD Team and has worked with many top archers to optimize their equipment to shoot as well as they do. Oklahoma Archery talks with Rick Gilley
This conversation should have been a 10 part show. Rick has been winning national titles in archery since the 1960's. He is very methodical in his way of tuning. We cover that very thing along with digging up some gold nuggets he drops on us. Also we need to let everyone know that The Oklahoma Storm Joad team will be hosting open tryouts for the team. They only allow a limited number of team members so that each shooter gets proper coaching. Tryouts will be from 3-5pm on October 21st at H&H shooting Sports. The three of geek out on tuning, shot activation, practice routines, and we even let Neil give us a lesson on moving in the stand from his recent big buck kill.

Neil recaps his travels for the last couple weeks. He rolled into North Houston to shoot the State 900 and the State marked 3D. Followed that up the next weekend up in South Dakota at the NFAA Headquarters/Easton Foundation building shooting 2 national shoots. We finish off the show talking about arrow clocking and what I learned when I changed vanes and studying the amount of rotations occurring with a 20 yard shot.

This man has traveled and shot for Team USA and placed in the hundreds of tournaments. Don't think we are sticking with shooting foam. He is a very accomplished hunter. He gives us some pointers on newcomers getting into the trad world.

We talk with Jereme Budgick and Bryan Thomas from "Shot the 3D Experience". It is going to be a 3D shoot in Hugo OK August 19th and 20th. This is like no other shoot in the state. If you'r going to bow hunt this year you need to see where you really are setting before you draw down on a live animal. After this shoot you will know what you need to work on before the opening weekend. They will have tons of sponsorship giveaways, novelty shoots, and food on site.
