On this show Neil and talk about his recent trip to shoot the season opener on the national ASA tour. We bounce back to the OSAA State 5 spot this weekend and for some crazy reason Neil keeps wanting to talk 3D and outdoors. Our guest this week is Coach Johnny King of the Connors State College Archery Team. They are hosting a ASA qualifier this weekend. Johnny tells us about the coarse and what you can expect, location of the range, then we dive into scholarship programs they offer for instate and out of state kids. Thats not all Neil drops a BOMB and tells us something he has been working on with Johnny for a State level Shooter of the year program for these young shooters in programs like Connors State.

Archery is getting busy here in Oklahoma, we start off recapping the Vegas shoot, then our guest Tim Gregg and his son Easton joins us for some 3D discussions. This weekend is Oklahoma's 2nd ASA State qualifier, after a huge turnout in OKC for the opener. Next we go over gear with Eason and his Vegas game. Tim tells us directions and what to expect this weekend with the upcoming shoot. With a little time left on the clock, Tim tells us about the Shot the 3D Experience coming this summer.

Neil and Myself traveled and shot the Lancaster Shoot off in PA. We both had our wins and losses on this trip. Neil wants to go on the record saying he has officially recanted his stabilizer testimony. He said he admits total ignorance. We need more proof on this. Listen in on for some crazy moments we encountered and also if you plan on attending some things to be aware of.

It was an honor talking with Matt this week. Matt is the reigning champion of the 2023 Lancaster Archery Barebow class. If you have never watched any of the barebow shoot videos you need to stop and do this. This is one of the fasted growing classes in archery. Matt tells us his set up and even dives into tournament prep. So much information to list, so listen in.

Robert is from the great state of Texas. He climbed quickly in his ability to shoot and now shares with the world his techniques and thoughts. Robert hosts a YouTube page, is a private coach, and runs a website. Listen in and get his thoughts on teaching archery. The one word everyone is tired of hearing about is covid. This time it spurred something good for the archery world. Out of that, we all got a new archery shop, a revolutionary way of staying up on scores live during a tournament, and a new tournament that is making a splash in the the south central US. Josh Jacobson has been hunting for a very long time. In the last few ears he has taken up tournament shooting. In this short time he has grown to become a force to recon with. Listen in while we get some really cool insights of his set up thoughts, what he shoots, and just all around archery talk.

Jeremy is a rookie Pro this indoor season, but shoots and has the mind set of a 10 year veteran. We start with with his history of shooting, his equipment, and his love of field archery. There is a lot of discussion of his recent indoor tournament where he gave all us Okie's a mud stomping. With true fashion we do geek out a little on equipment.

Ryan is a Pro Shooter for Darton Archery based out of Lawton OK. We get to started talking about him and his history in archery. We dive into his beliefs if shooting 12's, practice, tournaments, and so much more. Ryan has a wealth of knowledge that will soon be available at his Archery Academy that will soon be launching.

We open the program talking with Andrea Waldridge. Her youth group has organized an indoor youth shooting tour. She will give you the details of that along with the fast approaching Frozen Okie Indoor shoot. Then comes the BIG news. We get to introduce the new ASA Oklahoma Director. It is our very own Neil Cooley. He lays out the steps that ASA has asked him to do. He is working on and with the Facebook pages, shoots, clubs, shooters, and even going to start something new in OK. So listen in and see whats up with ASA in OK.

Chisum Johnson is a member of the Oklahoma Blood Trackers Association. Its DEER SEASON and these guys will be handy ti have in your back pocket. Chisum tells us about the rules for using dogs and what the hunter needs to do when tracking. The OBTA just doesn't allow anyone to be a tracker. They have a certification process, witch is a safety net for them and the hunter. So much information here for the new hunter and old hunter.

Ty Dameron is first a hunter and we discuss some great hunts he has been doing. He is also known on the ASA 3D circuit and one great shot. Bringing home several big checks. His daily is running an archery shop called Ty Bows. Listen in while we ask questions.

WOW, This conversation has been on my radar from day one of this podcast. We are talking with Tom Stevenson. He is the President of Stevenson Analytics and the developer of the ArcheryPath Performance Analytics & Equipment Tuning Optimization platform, after of over 50 years of experience in Olympic Recurve archery. He holds a BS in Engineering and an MBA in Entrepreneurship. He has spent over 30 years in software development and engineering consulting, working with such companies as Boeing, Allied Signal, and Easton. Along with George Tekmitchov, he was part of the design team that developed the Easton X10 arrow shaft. He has served as President of USA Archery, a USOC board member, and a board member for the NAA Foundation. As a competitive archer he has represented the USA internationally, has been on the USAT many times as a collegiate, senior and as a Master. He has won over 20 national championships during his competitive career. He is a Level IV NTS coach and currently coaches the Oklahoma Storm JOAD Team and has worked with many top archers to optimize their equipment to shoot as well as they do. This conversation should have been a 10 part show. Rick has been winning national titles in archery since the 1960's. He is very methodical in his way of tuning. We cover that very thing along with digging up some gold nuggets he drops on us. Also we need to let everyone know that The Oklahoma Storm Joad team will be hosting open tryouts for the team. They only allow a limited number of team members so that each shooter gets proper coaching. Tryouts will be from 3-5pm on October 21st at H&H shooting Sports. Today we invited Wendell Souza on the show. Wendell has been shooting a very high level national and regionally. He holds record high scores in CA and the NFAA. The three of geek out on tuning, shot activation, practice routines, and we even let Neil give us a lesson on moving in the stand from his recent big buck kill.

Welcome shooters, we get a chance to talk with Bryn Chapman. The owner of Okie-Land Bowhunters Pro Shop and Indoor Range. He is one of the fastest growing shops in the OKC metro area. Just before archery season kicks off we get a little time to chat. Bryn also drops a bomb shell and lets our podcast announce some big news.

Neil and Myself are nerding out on indoors setups while our guest Chris Sanders is making his way to talk with us. Our conversation sounds like 3 guys setting at the range just talking. This was so much fun chatting up Chris' target setup and his way of thinking when he sets up his equipment and the customers he works with at Okie Land Bowhunters.

Neil recaps his travels for the last couple weeks. He rolled into North Houston to shoot the State 900 and the State marked 3D. Followed that up the next weekend up in South Dakota at the NFAA Headquarters/Easton Foundation building shooting 2 national shoots. We finish off the show talking about arrow clocking and what I learned when I changed vanes and studying the amount of rotations occurring with a 20 yard shot.

Shiloh Butts is our guest today. He is very well know in the traditional shooting world. His passion is longbow shooting. This man has traveled and shot for Team USA and placed in the hundreds of tournaments. Don't think we are sticking with shooting foam. He is a very accomplished hunter. He gives us some pointers on newcomers getting into the trad world.

It is our pleasure to bring on the newly crowned ASA Classic Senior Know Pro winner 2023, Chad Hilburn. We jump right into questions about how his week started once in Cullman AL. We can't leave out asking about his equipment and even the shoot down itself. Listen all the way to the end because I catch him off guard with some questions that are intended so you can get to know Chad off the range.

Neil recaps this last weekend in Alabama for the ASA Classic. We explain to new comers what to expect at one of these events, the new target rigs he seen, the layout, and the weather. We always recap upcoming local shoots. Plenty of little things to listen too.

We talk with Jereme Budgick and Bryan Thomas from "Shot the 3D Experience". It is going to be a 3D shoot in Hugo OK August 19th and 20th. This is like no other shoot in the state. If you'r going to bow hunt this year you need to see where you really are setting before you draw down on a live animal. After this shoot you will know what you need to work on before the opening weekend. They will have tons of sponsorship giveaways, novelty shoots, and food on site.

We talk with Chris Hammond. He has been a Mathews Pro Shooter for several years. His rookie year in the Pro ranks he won Rookie Shooter of the Year. Has made the podium since and recently at the ASA he was once again in the shoot off. We hit him with questions about his passion for hunting, life, practice routine, and his current shooting setup. I'm sure you can find a nugget of gold in this podcast.

For our 2nd show we asked Chris Edwards to come and tell us about himself, his equipment, archery goals, and the team aspect for his school. We go over local news, shoots, shops, even our bow setups.
