These guys own and operate The Tru Hunting Experience - Deerman The 3d guys. This group has been around since the early 2000. Their way of scoring a 3D target and style of 3D shoot is not what the standard is. But they are trying to reset the standard and you can hear the passion and ownership in this conversation. They are proof that there are many ways to shoot and score 3D animals.

Oklahoma Archery visits with Dallas Barber

Dallas is Oklahoma's big game biologist for Oklahoma Department Wildlife Commission. Dallas explains what goes into decisions it takes to to maintain Oklahoma's deer heard. It's not just guess work picking the dates for the hunting seasons. I was very interested when he gets into how the deer population is counted for the upcoming season. He admits he has a really great job getting to see the how deer react, move, and grow with all the programs the ODWC has. Oklahoma Archery does a recap of the ASA State Championship

Everyone knows Neil is our new ASA State Rep for 2024. Before he gets to his 1 year anniversary he pulls together the ASA shooters and shows the ASA Federation office some staggering numbers with shooter count, range sign ups, and memberships. He goes on to let everyone know that this has been a team effort from all the host ranges, friends, family, and fellow shooters. He does take time to talk a little for next year and what it will look like. He brings up that this year isn't quite done, because they still have a directors meeting nationally and he is organizing a Oklahoma State wide meeting in September. You can hear through out the entire podcast he appreciates each and everyone that has offered some kind of support to him and the Oklahoma ASA. Mr Neil Cooley thank you.

We were honored to have Rick Gilley on the show for a second time. Recently Rick traveled to the NFAA Midwest Trail Classic and finished top of the podium with first place. Oklahoma Archery brings back Jeremy Balderrama

Jeremy give us his take on the Redding Shoot and the Western Trail Shoot. This was his first trip out to shoot those and we are privileged that he has agreed to come on and tell us about his trip. If you want to shot any type of a walk thru field range listen to this. He gives you so many gold nuggets on tuning, bow set up, practice and I ask him to dive in and tell us how he calculates up and down shots (called cutting). You will learn so much.

3D season is in full force here in our state. More and more people are headed outdoors to shoot some foam. We wanted to highlight what the Oklahoma Triple Crown actually is, the shooting rules, location, and dates. You can hear the passion of why they do chose to put in the work to keep archery alive in our state. You may even hear of a new organized shooting group on the horizon. On this show Neil and talk about his recent trip to shoot the season opener on the national ASA tour. We bounce back to the OSAA State 5 spot this weekend and for some crazy reason Neil keeps wanting to talk 3D and outdoors. Our guest this week is Coach Johnny King of the Connors State College Archery Team. They are hosting a ASA qualifier this weekend. Johnny tells us about the coarse and what you can expect, location of the range, then we dive into scholarship programs they offer for instate and out of state kids.
